This assault originated from positions west of the Donets River. It was executed overland, without needing to attempt a river crossing from the east bank.
The Donets River is no longer a barrier against Russian offensives in Lugansk. Russia’s now firmly established on both sides of the river.
Most important, Lysychansk and Severodonetsk are completely encircled as a result of yesterday’s Russian victories.
