- Army and security forces retook control of the Deh Yak district, Ghazni province, from the Taliban, the Defense Ministry said on May 27;
- 7 civilians died as a result of an attack by unidentified gunmen on their house;
- The Taliban stormed government checkpoints in the Qashqari area, Saripul city. According to the Taliban media wing, 13 pro-government fighters were killed and 25 others were wounded as well as 3 fighters were captured and 4 vehicles were destroyed;
- According to the Taliban media wing, at least 30 civilians were killed as a result of actions by government and NATO forces in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, Helmand and Ghazni.
