A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:

  • The Taliban claimed that at least 24 government troops were killed and 12 others were wounded in an attack on 2 checkpoints in the Dasht-e-Archi district of northern Kunduz;
  • According to the Taliban, 13 government fighters were killed in Balkh province and 9 more in Takhar province;
  • According to the Taliban annoual report, 5423 civilians were killed and 3284 were wounded as a result of actions of US-led forces. 5152 of the killed civilians reportedly died in airstrikes.
