On June 28 and 29, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s Turkish-backed allies released videos revealing some of the losses the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) suffered from during its recent advance attempt towards the villages of Jibeen and Tell Meleh in northern Hama.
Jaysh al-Izza released three videos showing anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) targeting a gathering of Syrian soldiers, a 57mm gun and military truck carrying ammo near the two villages.
Two more videos released by the National Army for Liberation (NFL) show Turkish-backed militants destroying a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and a battle tank of the SAA with ATGMs, also near Jibeen and Tell Meleh.
A coalition of HTS, the Turkish-backed groups and al-Qaeda affiliated factions captured Jibeen and Tell Meleh in a surprise attack earlier this month.
The SAA failure to recapture the villages revealed serious problems in its organization, preparations and even in its battle tactics.
