Militants Release Several Videos Revealing Syrian Army Losses In Recent Northern Hama Advance

Support SouthFront

On June 28 and 29, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham’s Turkish-backed allies released videos revealing some of the losses the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) suffered from during its recent advance attempt towards the villages of Jibeen and Tell Meleh in northern Hama.

Jaysh al-Izza released three videos showing anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) targeting a gathering of Syrian soldiers, a 57mm gun and military truck carrying ammo near the two villages.

Two more videos released by the National Army for Liberation (NFL) show Turkish-backed militants destroying a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and a battle tank of the SAA with ATGMs, also near Jibeen and Tell Meleh.

A coalition of HTS, the Turkish-backed groups and al-Qaeda affiliated factions captured Jibeen and Tell Meleh in a surprise attack earlier this month.

The SAA failure to recapture the villages revealed serious problems in its organization, preparations and even in its battle tactics.

Rhodium 10

No! you are wrong..the Elite force was able to conquer Kafr Naboudah and Qalait and reject many HTS offensive….they are SAA regular conscripts and NDF…which are not a reliable force and use to flee…later as we seen along Syria war…Hezbollah and IRGC beside Russian Speznats will appear and kill all terrorist!…

Zvonimir Šebalj

saa dumbest army on planet

Mike

Or Russia is being useless by foisting demoralizing ceasefire, in order to please the useless Turks or to still obsesses in what their so called Western partners think in the pointless media wars.

dutchnational

There are now reports of large withdrawals of Iranians and their proxies from Al Bukamal region. As there are no SAA there, will this become the next clusterf*ck of ASSAD battle tactics?

In the mean we are to harsh on SAA command. What can one expect when the “great” leader only appoints yes men and ” followers” out of his small clique.

This is also happening now in Turkey. Within a few years TSK command will be as bad as the Syrian one. Iran fares potentially better as it’s command is in control of the country. Not the other way around.

xTheWarrior22

Just wondering were they got all these ATGM’s from?

Rhodium 10

just wondering why SAA dont deploy ATGM & Sniper team with cal 50 rifle to protect their own forces…

xTheWarrior22

I don’t know what happened to the SAA. In late 2016, they liberated Aleppo and in 2017 they liberated a huge part of the country from ISIS. Until 2018 they were liberating territory after territory, they looked so strong. Maybe it was a mistake to ship the terrorists from the former pockets towards Idlib, while it was clear that Turkey will protect the them.

Mike

Its these idiotic and demoralizing cease fires done at the behest of the Russians.

xTheWarrior22

And don’t forget the continued supplies from Turkey and the “observation posts”.

Mike

True that unfortunately.

klove and light

Maybe it was a mistake to ship the terrorists from the former pockets towards Idlib, while it was clear that Turkey will protect the them

that was my sentence over and over and over again since the deal of aleppo, douma etc…. and it was Russia that made those deals. Hope u remember(southfront had plenty of articles on that Episode which iam going to explain now), when the terrorists under the russian deal to evacuate to Idlib were in their buses(dozens), hezbollah and other shiite Groups went BESERK! they totally spaced out. They began Shooting at the buses, and even burnt some of them.

Now…. i often tried to explain here, that These DOZENS of evacuation Agreements with the worst of the worst includinf alnusra, dont make sense.Because each time those Agreements came into Action, the allied Forces of hezbollah and SAA had them jihadi pricks cornered IN.ie. aleppo, douma, quinetra, daraa etc…. CORNERD IN = in Military Terms = they either SURRENDER or DIE !!!!!

so why make a deal???? again… this was RUSSIAS deal..neither SAA nor hezbollah wanted that bs.

then…sudddenly…. Russia gives the green light to Turkey to invade northern syria, knowing VERY WELL that Turkey was the NUMBER ONE Nation allied to ISIS.Russia knows from Starters, that Turkey works together with alnusra. All of that is no secret….ie. in Turkey dozens of journalists were and are put in jail for writing exactly those truths even with secret Recordings of turkish intelligence Service members Talking with ISIS and alnusra commanders and having a good time while calling each others brother here, brother there.

After Turkey invaded afrin…….. RUSSIA even gave the green light to Turkey to inavde Idlib, by allowing Turkey to create on starategic hilltops and mountaintops 12 Military outposts.

And guesss what, Turkey is using those outposts(as mentioned also here laitley) to provide all Kind of assuistance to the terrorists includig chemicals used for the numerous false flag chemical attacks.

and here my Question????????????????????????????

is Putin stupid??? a serious Question…..is the man, plain and simple STUPID??????????????????????????

ive thought days About this Question, seriously hour after hour…..the answer is NO!!!! so if he is not stupid……… because all other explanations, after These numerous strategic “mistakes” on part of Russia wont make sense. These are not mistakes u do at work, or pressed the wrong button on a pc game… or done the wrong cooking…….These strategic “mistakes” are numerous and over a Long period of time and occur in the “Right” Moments………SAA was buiulding up Momentum,,, bamm Agreement that TAF my inavde Idlib and create 12 Military outposts to pprotect the terrorits……seriously…after everything Russia knows(and they know everything that happened and happens)…how can they allow the biggest enemy of the assad Regime build 13 Military outposts at strategic hilltops and moutaintops with a jihadi army at their calling which only came to Idlib through the dozens of evacuation Agreements with Russia.

good night…

for my houthi Brothers their Slogan “God Is Great, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse on the Jews, Victory to Islam”

ps. funny how Russia in the UNSC with all other prciks said yes to the weapons Embargo against the houhtis…. and like ALL others on the UNSC sells ist most modern weapons to the attacking and invading Forces of Saudi Arabia and uae.

this all only makes sense through the AGENDA.

ALL nations that recognize the illegal satanic Entity named Israel are part of the Agenda including Russia, usa,eu,uk,china etc..

A one world Government with Jerusalem as its capital under satanic jewish Leadership.

xTheWarrior22

Thanks for summing up everything, but I have one question: Why do you write “Assad regime” above? I guess you know the truth, but why do you write this? Or was that supposed to be ironic?

Rhodium 10

Man you are naive..SAA without Hezbollah and Russian Speznats on ground are NOTHING!…Terrorist fighting vs Hezbollah and Russian Speznats are NOTHING!..HZB and Speznats can fight during night, have bullet proof jackects and Helmets..point targets to Drones or Jets, have tactics and training..have accurate rifles…both retaken Aleppo NOT SAA…where is the problem?…terrorist know that Hezbollah&IRGC can take many village…but when you deploy there SAA..terrorist in few hours can retake all that territories..as SAA use to flee..by orders of commanders to avoid a masacre as they are not well skilled troops or because they are conscript and refuse to fight vs superior enemy!…meanwhile RUAF just kill terrorist day by day and wait!

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

so why are spetznaz and hezb not helping SAA in idlib? or are they?

Rhodium 10

Because in all offensive SAA and RUAF attacks terrorist and later Hezbollah and RUAF help them!..in this case SAA have make insignificant advance due to the well trained and armed terrorist forces.. that is a problem for Hezbollah and Russians…also they fear that SAA cannot keep retaken territories, flee from there and left weapons as we have seen in Kafr Naboudah..where Tiger Forces had to retake twice.. smilar scenario happened in Palmyra,Sweida,Morek..etc…

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

They have to all reunite and finish the job no excuses

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

i guess because idlib is the “final boss”, it is definitely the toughest battle yet, but it will be won by SAA i am sure :)

Lazy Gamer

Last figures i read was that they’ve got tens of thousands right there. Couple that with persistent resupply and that becomes a battle between two conventional armies using unconventional tactics. Speculate also how many foreign advisers/commanders these have. lol The ceasefire agreement allowed the SAA to retake the rest of the country at their own pace and time. Though it came with the risk of losing the adjacent cities to Turkey.

Hisham Saber

The U.S., Britain and FRance have, along with Turkey dramatically stepped up the arming of the terrorists. The terrorists are now receiving very sophisticated armaments, funneled through Turkey. Time for Syria to instill a 50% draft, arm the Kurds and Arab, Assyrian tribes to the teeth, so they can start a lethal insurgency, which they are ready to do.

Bill Wilson

You haven’t been paying attention to this war. The SAA lost ground early in the war because their ranks had been reduced by desertions so were overwhelmed by the numerous ill-trained militant militias that fought each other at the same time. The SAA was able to retake lost territory from those militias because they were still poorly trained and fighting each other. By 2017 the SAA had to muster out tens of thousands of experienced soldiers because they had been fighting for 6 straight years and were agitating to go home, especially those that were forced to re-enlist after their 2 year hitch was up. That left the SAA with an estimated 24,000 front line soldiers with another 90,000 in the rear for support services and garrison duty. The militants were tired of the fighting plus had lost their outside financing so couldn’t pay wages nor buy more bullets. So the moderates reconciled with Damascus with their militias being absorbed into the SAA to replenish their ranks and the extremists were allowed to leave to Idlib or the desolate desert to avoid the expense in manpower and munitions to force them out. Damascus was also content to allow the YPG and SDF to get rid of ISIS east of the river and in North Aleppo with US support since the SAA lacked the men and support to do that themselves. The extremists in Idlib promptly started fighting with each other and other militant groups to gain superiority over them while the SAA got to work training the moderate militias and new recruits to become members of a modern professional army. That takes time when done right so I find it silly that so many nitwits here expect them to rush right into Idlib and Aleppo to take on 70,000+ fighters that now get paid and plenty of munitions from Turkey. The terrain in Idlib and Aleppo is hilly which gives the defender the advantage by stationing ATGMs on the hills to take out SAA traffic on the roads below.

dutchnational

One can ask how much of the liberating was done by SAA and how much by proxy forces. Likely a very large percentage. Concentrating ones enemies under a hostile cover never has been a winning strategy.

dutchnational

Or use proper tactics and strategies. Why take on a heavily fortified mountain top with inadequate forces. Better to go around and isolate.

occupybacon

Is that supposed to be a joke?

xTheWarrior22

Of course. I know they get them from Turkey.

Bill Wilson

It’s not a joke. Nearly all militant groups were able to buy ATGMs when they were receiving adequate funding from outside sources. Once their funding dropped or ended then they couldn’t replace what they shot off. That’s why the SAA is finding new ATGMs at the weapon caches folks have been revealing to them. The arms dealers got stuck with those when their buyers ran out out cash.

occupybacon

Or they were not purchased with cash but rather through wire transfer?

Jean Morgan

Hasn’t Syria has been awash with a number of anti-tank guided missile systems, including Chinese Red Arrows, Russian 9M133 Kornets, American BGM 71 TOWs and an Iranian imitation known as the Toophan, among other systems?

Hisham Saber

They are supplied by the U.S., Israel, Britain and France, through Turkey, with the Turkish governments tacit approval.

It is high time President Bashar Assad incorporate a minimum 50% draft at least. Right now, the draft is only 25%.

Idlib needs to turn into the graveyard for the terrorists and their Turkish allies. Enough is enough. Arm the Kurds, arm the Arab, Assyrian tribes with sophisticated weapons, ansd unleash hell on the Turkey backed rats, as well as the Turkish army itself.

xTheWarrior22

I know the terrorists receive them from these states, that was supposed to be ironic. But I think they shouldn’t arm the Kurds etc. Firstly the Kurds have to reintegrate themselves in the Syrian state and handover the areas they control to Damacus.

Jean Morgan

Excuse me, hasn’t Syria been awash with a number of anti-tank guided missile systems? The Chinese Red Arrows, Russian 9M133 Kornets, American BGM 71 TOWs and an Iranian imitation known as the Toophan, among other systems? Any of these ATGMs could be in the hands of any and all the players remaining in Syria today, yes?

klove and light

The SAA failure to recapture the villages revealed serious problems in its organization, preparations and even in its battle tactics.

first time in a Long while that i fully support this southfront Analysis. secondly……the constant delivery of ammunition and weapons by TAF through their Observation Posts to the terrorists with the full Knowledge of Russia and the continuing syrian Leadership playing ball, cannot be reasoned with stupidity any more.one has to look real close and deeper.

AM Hants

Is South Front turning into CNN? They seem to be taking delight from these SOHR themed articles?

John Whitehot

most certainly they tend to pass the message that the ragheaded scum won the war because they “took” 2 villages and the SAA is a shit.

most of the ppl which were active on SF back in 2015/16 realized it and are now gone, while the comment section has become the personal theatrine of a couple of zionists and sometimes some ukrainian basically passing by saying “fuck Russia!” and then stick their tongue back into the hairy jewish ass they were appeasing.

me myself couldn’t find anything even remotely rensembling military analysis lately.

i mean, “The SAA failure to recapture the villages revealed serious problems in its organization, preparations and even in its battle tactics.”

the above resumes what they’re able to produce in the field of analysis of late.

AM Hants

Russia Insider went the same way.

BMWA1

AMN-Syria, from Lebanon, is more reliable.

dutchnational

Failure to achieve objectives almost always is tantamount to bad planning or bad execution. To start any action without a high chance for success, taking into account resistance capabilities, possible drawbacks, is lunacy.

Given the rate of failures in the Idlib campaign it must be either bad planning or bad execution. My guess is bad planning. Use of inferior units is not bad execution, it is bad planning.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

IRGC, HEZB, SPETZNAZ, NOW IS THE TIME TO HELP SAA I THINK!!!!

dutchnational

It has been that time already for years. Why should his proxies aid and aid more when the moron never listens to anyone. Does not make adequate compromises, just fattens his corrupt cronies. The man is supposed to govern his country, not be a medieval tin pot ruler.

Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

he is a better ruler than any of us can be dutchy boy, i had a very intimate romantic evening with famke janssen, we shared heineken, and talked about how much of a dutchy boy u are hahahha ;)

dutchnational

Have been saying for years there are serious flaws in SAA conmand, its strategies and tactics re fi guarding flanks while advancing, lack of adequate holding forces, treatment of occupied territories. But one must be fair. Their shortcomings lie with Assad as their commander. He choose those people, likely the steategies and, as a dictator, never chooses the brilliant commanders but always the obedient ones from the ” right” background. In the end, he rather prefers most of them die then come to an agreement with opposition that profess to want a deal, only not HIS deal.

dutchnational

Never seen such a worthless string of insults, namecalling and vituparation as between Edvin R and Mike her below. A total disgrace.

They should just block eachother and get a live and not bother anyone any further.
