On May 31 and June 1, the Houthis (as Ansar Allah is known) released new videos from their recent large-scale ground operation in the southern Saudi province of Jizan.
The videos show attacks with anti-tank guided missiles on an M1A2S Abrams battle tank, a M163 Vulcan Air Defense System and three ZU-23-2 23 mm guns of the Saudi military and its Yemen proxies.
One of the videos also shows Houthi fighters blowing up a M113A4 armored personnel carrier of the Saudi military with an explosive device.
The Houthis reached the outskirts of the town of al-Khobhd, more than 3 kilometers into Jizan, during the attack which had taken place earlier this year.
As a result of the operation, 80 personnel of the Saudi military, Sudanese military and Yemeni forces were killed or wounded. The Houthis also destroyed more than 29 vehicles and captured loads of weapons and military equipment from Saudi forces.
In more than six years of war, the Saudi-led coalition has not yet secured the Kingdom’s border with Yemen. The Houthis continue to operate in the region with much freedom.
