Israel Reveals Data About Alleged New Hezbollah Special Operations Commander

The Israel Security Agency has made public the personal data of the alleged high-ranking Hezbollah commander, named Munir Ali Naim Shaito. He reportedly is the successor to Imad Mughniyah as principal leader and operative for Hezbollah’s military, intelligence, and security apparatuses.

On October 25, Israeli papers Israel hayom and Yedioth Ahronoth published his alleged personal data and his photo via the Syrian Army press office, previously published in Lebanese media. No information about him was previously available in the media, according to newsru.co.il.

According to the reports, Shaito is 50 years old, and he is a father of four. He was born in a small village in the south of Lebanon. Lately he has been active in Damascus and in the south of Syria, apparently being responsible for Hezbollah activities in Golan Heights and on the Syrian-Israeli border .

The reports claim that in the early 2000, Shaito was assistant to Hezbollah official responsible for “Palestine operations”. He is suspected of conducting operations in Israel.
