Israel And U.S. Drill To Overcome S-400 Systems Simulated By Patriots. What Possibly Could Go Wrong?

IMAGE: An Israeli F-35I takes off from Uvda airbase during Blue Flag 2019

Israel, the United States and several NATO states held a large-scale military drill “Blue Flag 2019” in Israel. The drill took place on November 3-14 at the Uvda Air Force base north of Eilat.

The Blue Flag 2019 involved five countries, 70 aircraft, including F-35I, and approximately 1,000 participants, the Israeli military reported (source):

Several pro-Israeli media outlets and military experts speculated that the Red Team’s Patriot surface-to-air missile systems simulated Russia’s S-300 and S-400 air defense systems that were overcome by the Israeli-US force.

The success demonstrated by US-made Patriot missiles in Saudi Arabia, where they defended a half of Saudi oil production from Houthi strikes, is widely-known for the international audience. So, what could possibly go wrong?

Russia needs to use its S-400 and should not use them for decoration. A no-fly zone for all unauthorized aircraft should be announced asap.

  • JoeAlpha

Some pilots in the exercise will panic when they see the beep beep on their radar warning system, that their planes have been locked by “mysterious missiles” who start targeting them from their takeoff until landing. And yeah .. of course they will not say anything to the public when they land, other than “all is well, the exercise went successfully, the enemy was neutralized”. (while secretly going to the toilet to change their diaper).

  • AJ

The Patriot is no substitute for the S400 so any exercises to overcome it need to be tested against the real thing which they dont have.

    • J Ramirez

      Maybe Russia should give the Jews a live fire exercise and see how good their pilots are ;}

      • <>

And they will lose Syria to us, they should put you as the chief of staff you’re too smart.

the showdown is nigh and the paramount interest of the world is to eradicate the illegal settlement called israel – first step is for iran to prepare launching pads in the Caspian Sea from where they can rain a deadly barrage of long range missiles on tel aviv, haifa, jaffa and other significant places. and the other guys, now armed to the teeth, can assault the squatters from all directions and wipe them out completely and then watch them swim for distant shores. and palestine will be palestine again and the squatters will have to find somewhere else to live – mars or some such place or if the genera population in the unhinged states of A is to be benevolent, open up the sonora desert (which the general population in A won’t ever agree to, considering the fact that the squatters been living off A since ever and thus taken away the fruit of labours the general population slaved for and which were taken away by the IRS ).

    • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

mars is too close, how bout pluto? Hahaahha

      • verner

now if they get first to one of those exoplanets resembling earth they are bound to start charging any later arrivals for the pleasure, typical squatters way. so maybe one of those sulphuric planets resembling hell would suit better.

    • Debunking Arrogance

You want Iran to rain missiles on a nuclear armed country? Iran’s civilian population will be wiped out. The best thing is for Iran to produce nukes fast. They should not negotiate with Trump. Iran should try to stockpile enough Uranium for a dozen bombs by November 2020 which will be more than enough to take care of Israel. Trump wouldn’t dare start a war before the elections on November 22. He won’t let Israel start one either. The 12 months period is a long gap for Iran to level the fields.
Thankfully, they are already doing it.

      • verner

if you have a rogue state which in every respect is in breach of any regulations explicitly or otherwise regulating the intercourse between human beings and nations, should you just let the rogue state continue just because it threatens the rest of the world with nukes . this latter fact is reason in itself to terminate the state in question and my feeling is that the minute israel pulls out its nukes there are a few others prepared to do the same against the perpetrator and help wipe it off the map. and then the rest of the jews, embedded and entrenched in different societies around the world would meet with hardship of never seen proportions before.

      • <>

If they do that, we will blow the Uranium reactor on them and make sure no one would be able to live there in the next 100,000 years. I hope we go for it too.

        • LR captain

if israel does there will be more and more boycotts of Israeli goods. Without any exports the Israeli economy will crash under debt. you can’t force people to buy your countries products.

Sure governments can stop stores from out right banning Israeli products. but it can’t force them to buy them.

          • <>

I don’t get how it’s about money or sanctions, I wrote that if they try to get nuclear bombs to destroy us then we need to stop them and blow up their reactor with all the nuclear material inside. Radiation will kill them slowly but surely. Actually, it would be a mistake if we don’t do it, let them die by their own bombs.

          • LR captain

you can’t cover up a nuclear explosion.

Besides they will just build another.
            and another
            and another

and every time one blows up and Israels say they did it
guess who all the countries would point fingers at if suddenly a few of their reactors go offline or blow up.
you are setting your self up Hezbollah to blow western reactors blame it israel as they seem to blow up every reactor.
Egypt is getting gonna get their own reactor under Russian help you gonna blow that one up too.

picture drop of support in countries who rely on reactors for energy. no buys Israeli products sure they still be on the shelves but every one will walk on by.

          • <>

LR, let me help you here man. The way I see it in the coming years, either Israel will be totally destroyed or Iran will be. There is no in between here, the winner takes it all. If you wanna put your money on them it’s fine, you might just win. But, and that’s a big but, if they fail and lose then Iran will disappear from the map. Their choice.

          • LR captain

you said one side can’t have it all, and this also holds true if Iran suffers 15 reactor blow ups, no one is gonna trust Israeli, the world governments will still be cordial but the common person will be scared and angry at them and will boycott them.

Israeli’s economy would collapse under debt pressure. united Israelis will stand divided they will fall.

Iranians are bunch rats keen on blowing Israeli up, well them building a reactor is like rat coming into your house looking for food -as bibi would say

          • <>

I get what you’re saying LR and I even agree with that on the rational level, but the Iranian regime is a fanatic religious regime that won’t stop till Israel is destroyed. So, they can have their chance like they wish and you know what? they might succeed and no more Israel like so many people here wanna see. But what do you think is going to happen if we feel there is the slightest chance they are going to shoot a nuke over here? use your imagination.

          • LR captain

no i’ll use logic Iraq and Jordan would never allow nukes to fly over countries and even though Iran has influence in Iraq. Iraq only works with Iran it concerns the defense of Iraq.

But same goes for israel and for Israel disregard their territory boundaries would only nudge them closer to Iran.

However if the Israeli say that they are striking IRGC personnel. Over all that may be a valid enough excuse for the UN as long as they , small pinpoint air strike as as don’t target military personnel of the Iraqi army.

          • <>

We always try to hit only Iranian targets in Syria and Iraq, our war is not against the Syrian or Iraqi people. I also said here that if Palis agree to get rid of the terrorist organizations, they can have almost everything we promised to them 19 years ago in the peace talks, and let’s be real no sain Israeli will support giving them anything if they shoot rockets on his/her house. People here hate Israel and they don’t care about facts, you think I wanna rule over 5M Palis? I wish we could get rid of them all and not be responsible for their population anymore. Some areas like the borders must remain under Israeli control, but most of the West Bank can go to them and I don’t want any Pali to enter Israel not for work and not for healthcare.

          • LR captain

then ignore Gaza they are not even part of the promised land of israel, Gaza is the home philistines the philistine are minoans and Mycenaean Greeks along with lupa. hat were settled there by Egypt.

the Palestinians are from Arabic tribes that moved in during Islamic rule.

          • <>

How can we ignore Gaza when they shoot rockets over here man? it’s impossible. And just like Iran, they are based on Islamic ideology to destroy Israel, there is no logic here whatsoever. People forget Egypt also closed the Gaza crossings on their side because the terror hurts them too. I don’t wanna be responsible to Gazans, they can live under Hamas if they want but if they shoot rockets we must act.

          • LR captain

does bibi lack office space Gaza and west bank should be separate issues and in different folders.

          • <>

The Palestinian president refuses to any negotiations without Gaza, its not up to Israel. I don’t think we can separate the two, a peace deal is about both territories. West Bank is secular and under PLO, Gaza is Islamic and under Hamas. Between the two I prefer PLO, but peace won’t happen under Bibi too because he’s scared. It’s a long topic man, I just don’t have the time to discuss it now I must go. I hope you can see not all of us are blood thirsty like most of the people here descrive us and never even visited Israel even once to see with their own eyes.

          • LR captain

i had Jewish co worker once and him and his grander mother sister and mother believed Israeli should not be a country. trust i know Israeli citizens are just scared. Because some resistance moment is attacking them on a monthly bases.

But there are true Zionists who live in the west bank and refuse to leave. I hope one day when peace is signed and IDF withdraw from the UN mandated Palestine. that you go to their house in the west bank and drag them back to israel proper. For their own safety of course.

            see ya later

          • S Melanson

Israeli fears of Palestinian/Arab resistance is true, Bibi says as much repeatedly. But Israel was born into war and like a sword of Damocles, wars and threats of war hang continuously over the head of Israelis

          • LR captain

Israeli had its chances first they were defeated by Babylon then by Romans. Each time they were invaded the local elite including the king had become so decedent and corrupt that it is as if GOD wanted to wipe the slate clean and try again in 100 years.

it’s hard for squad leaders in the IDF to understand they need to defend a top Israeli millionaire in his summer villa that he would only spend 2 weeks at. When that villa is surrounded by starving Palestinians. who’s farmland the villa now sits on.

          • S Melanson

Jews sound no different from any other race, nation or empire. Nations and empires come and go, human greed and avarice remain constant. Study of the history of Jewish politics shows a people highly divided.

Ironically, it was the mass influx of Jews from the former Soviet Union that tipped the electoral odds in favour of right wing parties and their hardline policies on issues of national security. The history of Israel and the Jewish people has shaped the psychology to place high importance on their security. In Canada, we have lived under exceptional security provided by our southern neighbor. We pass judgement without having any comprehension of the circumstances for people’s of nations that could only dream of having the security we take for granted.

As for the disillusioned IDF squad leader, you have a point, but this is an old story that applies to all nations past and present. With few exceptions, militaries protect the privileged, not the people.

          • LR captain

Zionist lion is the an IDF officer

im not even Jewish or even live in israel
            i live in southern Manitoba.

personally i’d wish israel did not exist but what ever now it is an issue that world must dealt with. So, i am willing to put personal feelings aside to put a reasonable debate, base on facts.

many jews came from the USSR because the amount of jews from west were pitiful. In western countries holocaust survivors died from over eating as years of starvation would drastically reduce ones stomach capacities. Cause them to explode if one should over eat. In USSR strict rationing prevented over eating and allowed for the their stomachs to grow back to a normal size.

and please don’t insult me by saying I am a jew. now I feel sick.

          • S Melanson

You said you were not Jewish and I have no reason not to believe you. If you had instead told me you were Jewish I would not think any differently of you. The last thing I want to do is insult you, and if anything, I want to express my respect for your posts, even if I do not agree at times with what you have said. Below I quote from your reply:

personally i’d wish israel did not exist but what ever now it is an issue that world must dealt with. So, i am willing to put personal feelings aside to put a reasonable debate, base on facts.”

I am building a web site and I am writing up the comment policies. I would like to use this quote as an example of the right approach to engaging in debate with others. What you say is the essence of having the right attitude.

          • LR captain

Yes you can use that quote, and you can’t link it to me.

let me fix some grammar issues

“personally i’d wish israel did not exist but what ever now it is an issue that world must dealt with. So, i am willing to put personal feelings aside to have a reasonable debate, based on facts”

          • S Melanson

Thank you for this. Reading your post conveys more than just your thoughts, it conveys the sincere emotions of someone that has seen it and lived it.

We need to open our eyes to the reality of the plight of peoples in conflict. To open our eyes, we need to open our ears and listen. Listen more and judge less those that have lived it.

Listening with an open mind can lead to uncomfortable but necessary soul searching. This nightmare was not created by Palestinians or Jews. The responsibility sits firmly on the shoulders of the nations of the world that voted yes for partition on one fateful day in 1947.

The people’s most affected had no vote – until the vote, Jews were stateless. Britain voted on behalf of the voiceless Palestinians of British mandatory Palestine. Britain, mandated to act on behalf of the people’s of Palestine, chose to be silent. British abstention was worse than even a yes vote, it was a total abrogation of responsibility under the mandate.

Now we live with the consequences of our making, holding not ourselves, but the victims responsible for what we had done.

As far as I understand it, the F-35 ‘stealth’ (i.e reduced detection radar cross-section and radar absorbent coating) is it’s own major vulnerability, in that unlike something like a FA-18 that get’s detected earlier by radar and therefore more reaction time to bugout for it’s pilot, the stealth strike fighter is detected further into the opponents air defense killzone and therefore has far fewer seconds to react and evade surface to air missiles.

It will get detected and it will get engaged and shot down.

  • Redadmiral

The whole propaganda exercise is JUNK. However, I would like to draw attention to the Isra Helli grammar of their ‘short’ for consumption by empire imbeciles. “100 Aircrafts”, with simple grammar mistakes like this I can hardly imagine how BIG their coordination and technical failures became when trying to implement this exercise in hype & hogwash…… Cacca, Skata, Shit & Scheisse to IsraHell

  • S Melanson

“Several pro-Israeli media outlets and military experts speculated that the Red Team’s Patriot surface-to-air missile systems simulated Russia’s S-300 and S-400 air defense systems that were overcome by the Israeli-US force.”

Military commanders of the drill expressed amazement that using Patriot Movie Prop Systems to emulate S-400 Systems produced exactly the same success rate recently demonstrated in KSA in defending strategic infrastructure. The awe inspiring effectiveness of Patriot Systems in detecting and shooting down hostiles was compiled into a special assessment authored by Incompetence House Consulting and Consulate, Istanbul, a Division of House of Saud Holdings which is itself a wholly owned subsidiary of CIA industries.

Incompetence House’s elite team of incompetent consultants thanked Raytheon for their expert guidance in compiling the assessment. Actually Raytheon executives wrote the entire report and Incompetent House incompetent consultants just signed their names as authors of the report and apparently are yet to read what the report says. But Raytheon soldiered on to produce the assessment and given the report’s title and opening sentence of the report, they clearly were able to maintain total objectivity in their analysis and conclusions:

TITLE: Patriot Systems Struggle to Emulate Inferior S-400 Systems: report on how innovative ways were found to get Patriots to operate below their worst performance capabilities to emulate S-400 Systems at peak performance.

The biggest challenge in using Patriots to emulate S-400 Systems is the fact that the Patriot System is vastly superior to the system being emulated and even under the most sub-optimal conditions the Patriot totally outclasses the S-400 operating in the most optimal of conditions. Put simply, the Patriot is incapable of matching the true performance of S-400 Systems. [well we can agree with this last sentence].

The glowing report declared Patriot Systems consistently demonstrated 100% effectiveness in eliminating hostiles detected! This is technically correct since in the case of KSA, none of the hostiles were detected and so 0% of hostiles detected meant 0% of hostiles were eliminated – so the claim is correct since the number detected is the same as the number eliminated (0% = 0%). Well what is truly awe inspiring is Raytheon mastery at telling the truth to paint a total lie.

As for the question ‘What could go wrong?’ Well when you have Incompetence House Consulting and Consulate involved, well… everything!

    • Tudor Miron

But something definately went “right” for those that signed that report. Raytheon is not known for stellar performance of their products but well known for stellar bribery towards US/NATO officials.

      • S Melanson

Ah yes, you have identified Raytheon’s core competency as well as value proposition

    • Jakke1899

Well, delightful sarcastic touch you have placed upon an actually very serious subject! My compliments, my dear fellow! Off- topic now, how is your website? There were already a few good articles on it (“the necessity of being informed”). Hope it will come back online soon.
      High regards

      • S Melanson

Thanks, and yes, a serious matter. I think it will be extraordinarily difficult to emulate the S-400, a system very different from the Patriot System regardless of how effective are the respective Systems. Also, no mention of emulating command and control and operators of the system.

The drills may give pilots more confidence but confidence does not prevent detection and liquidation of targeted aircraft – jets with confident pilots blow up just as well.

My website under construction is coming along after earlier setbacks – there seems to be people that do not want my site to go live. This has been resolved and I will have site back up shortly and let you know.

  • Harry Smith

Let me suggest Blue team to buy some cheap drones from Houthis to successfully complete their part of drills.

  • Jacob Wohl

Great news to see the IDF and USAF practicing to take on those lousy S-400’s!

    • Jacob Wohl

IDF will destroy those S-400s and S-300s if needed just like they destroyed those invincible Pantsir systems TWICE! And they will provide the video footage as well :-]

      • <>

        Exactly bro!

        • Ali Alsaaidi

But why is a tamir iron Dome missile interceptor so expensive , Hamas fires free iranian rockets and israel uses expensive iron dome missles 🤔

          • <>

If it saves Israeli lives then it is worth every dollar!

          • Ali Alsaaidi

Do you pay for the iron Dome missle or the US ?

          • <>

We pay for most of it, they also help but it’s a small part. If we didn’t have the system and Hamas killed Israelis with rockets then the public would have demanded entering Gaza and it would bring even more death.

          • Ali Alsaaidi

Dont you like to see a permanent peace with palestine and that israelis and palestinians live happy together maybe israel could spend less on the defense and combat the poverty some israelis face ☹️

          • <>

Peace is the best option, but not with Hamas the rules Gaza. They need to disarm and give Gaza back the PLO so we can have a deal with them. PLO are secular and we can work with them, we won’t negotiate with Islamic terrorists.

          • Ali Alsaaidi

But bro your army is very strong can you not topple hamas in Gaza with a ground invasion and force peace or something like that ?

          • <>

We can and should, but it’s up to the political leadership my friend.

          • Ali Alsaaidi

By the way do you believe a large war with Iran is nearby, and do you live in israel my friend ?

          • <>

I do live in central Israel, and I think a war with Iran might happen but not now. Both countries have internal issues they have to fix first and it’s more important, so it’s not good to any side.

          • Ali Alsaaidi

Are there places in israel where arabs and jews live and work together, have fun as Friends ?

          • <>

Sure, some of my best friends are Arabs. In Israel we have no problem with each other, we have alot of mutual respect and they work, live ,study just like me and they are part of Israel. My problem is with the Palestinians, and their refuse to reach a peace deal because they don’t even wanna take Gaza back from Hamas. Problematic situation.

      • LR captain

if they are planning on taking on a s-300 and s-400s could not just borrow greece’s actual s-300 and Jerry rig the Radars of more superior Israelis systems onto them.

that way they would be fighting Israeli upgraded s-300’s

Because US stuff is junk can’t even defend Saudi oil Fields.

plus are always on edge and there weapons are focused actually dealing with the threat rather than looking shinny and having a high price tag.

      • Ali Alsaaidi

Look bro you may be right but how did syrian airdefense s200 took down a israeli F16 in januari 2018?

I must admit that’s its the only good hit they scored in 6 years.

        • Jacob Wohl

Yeah, that’s 1 hit in 500 airstrikes. What is that like a 0.001 interception rate?

          • Ali Alsaaidi

You are right do you think the F35 adir can knock out a s400 unit ?

          • Jacob Wohl

Most definitely. It will take lots of planning and electronic warfare – which the IDF is very good at. Look at 2007, IDF completely jammed all Syrian air defense units, blinding their radars, and used F-15s to fly into Syria (which are NOT stealth) and they successfully destroyed the regime’s nuclear reactors

  • Tommy Jensen

The most advanced modern future under the most extreme conditions ever seen military drill in the universe history show US would clearly win over the S-400.
Its not done overnight and it takes some time, but US as the winner nation in leadership can do it.
    We won!
