On December 16, ISIS terrorists ambushed a group of Iraqi military service members in the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala.

The service members came under attack while they were conducting a patrol on foot in the outskirts of Qarah Tapah, a Shiite Turkmen town located in the northern countryside of Diyala.

According to ISIS, three Iraqi service members were killed and four others were wounded as a result of the attack. Local Iraqi officials confirmed the losses, revealing that the victims were attacked by snipers.
