On September 5, ISIS’ news agency, Amaq, released photos of a recent attack by the group’s terrorists on Nigerian army base in the northeastern state of Borno.
The attack targeted the town of Magumeri a few days ago. ISIS terrorists occupied the town for several hours, during which they stormed a base of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
ISIS claimed that its terrorists killed ten Nigerian service members in the attack. However, Amaq photos showed three bodies only.
The photos, however, prove that ISIS terrorists destroyed an armored vehicle and a truck of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The terrorists also seized a pick-up truck and loads of light weapons and ammunition.
This was not the only recent attack by ISIS cell in Borno. The group’s terrorists also ambushed a convoy of the Nigerian Armed Forces between the towns of Cross and Milefour. Ten soldiers were allegedly killed.
ISIS in Nigeria, formerly known as “Boko Haram,” intensified its attacks in Borno State recently. Government forces are making immense effort to counter the group.
