On October 24, ISIS fighters attacked eight positions of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) north of the town of Hajin in the southeastern Deir Ezzor countryside, according to the terrorist group news agency Amaq.
In the course of the attack, ISIS fighters killed three fighters of the SDF and captured three others. Furthermore, the terrorists burned three key positions and captured a bulldozer.
The SDF media center said in its daily press release that ISIS terrorists attempted to launch several attacks north of Hajin. However, the media center didn’t provide further information about the situation there.
Earlier, the terrorist group launched a counter-attack around the town of al-Susah, south of Hajin, and killed eleven personnel of the SDF. However, the SDF confirmed that the attack was repelled within few hours and said that a large number of terrorists were killed.
In the last few weeks, the remaining ISIS fighters in the Euphrates Valley stepped up their offensive operations in order to fend off the US-backed SDF operation there. This tactic appears to be effective, despite the superior firepower of the coalition.
