During the attack, which likely took place on June 22, the terrorists targeted the unit’s armored vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED). The terrorists then clashed with the survivors, before running away.
Amaq’s photos confirm that five to six service members of the Egyptian Armed Forces were killed in the well-planned attack.

In ISIS’ most recent IED attacks, an armored vehicle of the Egyptian military was blown into pieces in the village of al-Sakadra near Sheikh Zuweid in northern Sinai. Amaq also released photos of the attack.
The Egyptian military and security forces are conducting operations against ISIS remnants in Sinai on a regular basis. Heavy losses were inflicted on the terrorists. Nevertheless, the group is still active in the region.
