ISIS Establishes Full Control Over Abu al-Duhur Pocket – Reports

Support SouthFront

ISIS units reportedly established full control over the pocket southeast of the Abu al-Duhur airbase after all the “moderate rebels” had fled the area or defected to the terorrist group.

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allied militant groups used to control a large area in the pocket. However, the rapid ISIS expansion resulted in the collapse of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led forces there.

Well if ISIS is cut off in a pocket then the time has come to eradicate them from the earth – looking forward to a next article on the number of dead ISIS.
No quarter and no mercy – just kill them all.

Promitheas Apollonious

it seems easily said than done.

Jasminko Grdic

Yes, this is IS from HAMA/HOMS desert pocket and now they get more then 5-700 HTS members.

You can call me Al

Bomb the hell out of them.

Deo Cass

The main objective should be Abu Dhur city, the lifting of the siege of Hua and Kafraya and the full liberation of Idleb. ISIS are going no where. They will eventually run out of supplies.

Jakke1899

If they are ISIS units in that pocket, they will get their supplies from “Air America”! And make this war last even longer and cost more human lives.

RichardD

Do you have any proof?

Joe

They are resupplied by US with latest weapons .

Attrition47

As long as they can only achieve tactical effects, they can be left to wither on the vine.

gustavo

Wrong, ISIS has been and is being supported by Israel-USA-NATO, they will not run out of supplies. Much better to do what Panthera says, point. Russia can send them Kalibr missiles and finish with them very easily, if they want to.

northerntruthseeker .

Those US bought and paid for mercenaries and operatives should be destroyed as well….

Rob

In Syria thousands of citizens missing each year. The Zionist terror network kiddnaping them from the Syrian streets and then smuggle them to different terror groups to utilize them in terror activities like suicide explosions and attacking Syrian civilians and army.

Rob

When the terrorist commanders in HTS, FSA, ISIS, SDF, YPG etc knew this that Syrian war is actually Zionist terror network dirty and evil plot against Syrian nation, so then they start fight against other terrorist commanders to neutralize them or simply they run away from their terror groups.

Promitheas Apollonious

the question is how they move so freely, from one place to the other. This scenario has repeated itself once too many times. Something does not sound right.

anonim

Syria is not a densely populated country for one thing, and ISIS converts conquered troops into their religion. That is why you never heard of HTS death toll in that pocket. They only switched sides.

Anthony Paul Mapes

They were one and the same to start with, not a surprise in the slightest!

Anthony Paul Mapes

To add to my previous statement ( ignore spelling), al-quida in Iraq was the original foot in what IS formed from. Noting that IS was not a Syrian creation and that the expansion into Syria was more off the back of disinfranchised al-Qaida members, partly because of the gains off Iraq and then into Syria!
Therefore why I state in my original opinion they are one and the same, just thought I needed to clarify my position and train of thought…

You can call me Al

“after all the “moderate rebels” had fled the area or defected to the terrorist group.”

If they fled, here did they flee to ?, they were surrounded !!.

anonim

They were not surrounded for that long, and the ones who didn’t flee defected. Jihadis are easy to convert to ISIS.

You can call me Al

In he end, they are all the same vermin. It is all smoke and mirrors.

ZP

Turn-coats

Cheryl Brandon

I guess Turkey is happy huh to help the Billion dollars USA ISIS terrorist project?

Daniel

I don’t think anyone buys the HTS fled a besieged area story. They are as good as the same HTS and ISIS but ISIS is better for the SAA since they are not part of any cease fire agreement.

Joe

They need to change to ISIS so US had excuse to be in Syria.

All show show only

Wegan

Actually changing to ISIS is good for Syria and allies. Hitting them and taking territory from them will generate no “outrage” from the west. And will lower the negotiating power of rebels in any peace deal since they hold no territory at all.
I can’t understand how the west is so stupid. It’s unbelievable. It’s as if they want to hand out control of the world to their adversaries. Everything right now is going Syria’s way, really everything. Am shocked at how everything is properly aligned for China and Russia to dismantle the empire.
With more territory for Syria and more S-400 batteries, Syria is becoming unassailable.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Neither is HTS/Al Qaeda part of any agreement, Turkey had HTS leaders with them to assess Abu Duhour airbase, then they left.

Hendrik

Don’t send them green busses and a free ticket. Close the trap.

John Mason

Makes no sense. SAA takes many days even weeks to capture just a few blocks of building yet ISIS does it with ease. Could it be possible that the terrorists including ISIS take there orders from a central command centre? Finger does point to a US intelligence organization.

Joe

Just change uniforms

as

They don’t have to. They can even keep their beards.

Wegan

Well said.

Anthony Paul Mapes

Makes perfect sense, this area in question is a large area filled with a good amount of large and small towns, hilly areas and rough terrain! Urban warfare is the more protracted type there is, there is no way any one can make a comparison!
As in my comment the forces in that area are one and the same, majority of nusra did not leave they just joined isis and that tactically makes sense. Not been able to bring in fresh troops and resources, pooling what they have is the logical survival mechanism.
Try not to forget Isis besieged the SAA in der azor for 3 years!

Attrition47

Leopard tries to change its spots, Syrian army takes no notice.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Just because the spots on a leopard change it doesn’t make it a different animal.

Pave Way IV

Al Nusra/Al Qaeda HTS commanders = foreign agents. When they scurried away (or were evacuated by CENTCOM), the abandoned head-choppers naturally turned to ISIS leadership to save their asses. In stupid head-chopper fashion, they are completely oblivious to the fact that ISIS commanders are also foreign agents that will abandon them (or be evacuated by CENTCOM) just before the pocket is overrun by the SAA.

Hrky75

Good. It will make differentiating between low-lifes SAA needs to kill and the ones SAA REALLY needs to kill much easier… Raise the black flag, sound El Deguello and take no prisoners…

iosongasingsing

They are dead men walking, the Russians will have the choice to incinerate them with the Buratino or the UR-77.

Barba_Papa

I said this would happen. This means I have predictive powers. I now predict to win the lottery and that a hot chick will ring at my door and…..

RING!

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Nothing predictive here move along. What we know both groups are of the same ideology and are break off groups of each other.

ButtonPlay

its the tax man…

Barba_Papa

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

northerntruthseeker .

Why has nobody put two and two together here and realized that the so called “rebels” and “ISIS” are exactly the same and basically just two names on flip sides of the same coin…. They are both nothing more than American bought and paid for mercenaries and operatives…. It is therefore farcical that some people still do not get it when these criminals change their uniforms when ever they feel like it…

Gary Sellars

Terrorists changing shirts & company logos…. /yawn

Kill them all.
