ISIS Deploys Reinforcements To Southern Raqqah In Attempt To Gain More Ground From Syrian Army Tiger Forces

Donate

ISIS has reportedly deployed additional reinforcements to southern Raqqah in order to boost its offensive against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and pro-government tribal forces in the area.

Clashes are now ongoing between ISIS militants and government troos in the areas west and south of the crossroad village of Ghanem Al-Ali. An intense fighting is also ongoing in the area of Ghanem Al-Ali village itself.

ISIS claims that it controls the village while pro-government sources deny these claims.

However, it’s clear that ISIS has successfully used the government advance in central Syria for re-gropuing and preparing for operations in the province of Raqqah.

didnt learn their previous lesson. 800 dead by the Russian airforce….they are easy pray oytside cities…..

    • Michael Qiao

      this is the same attack

    • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

Yeah right, like anyone sane enough, would believe russian reports for that part.

      • χρηστος

well they say truth is the first victim in a war…but given the amount of missions of the Russian airforce in the region there have to be many casualties.

        • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

Yeah when they believed to make quick gains they said to kill 800 IS then when SA got smashed, just say that IS sent 800 reinforcement. Pretty much like in Palmyra, nothing new in this kind of war propaganda. US puppets in Iraq or Syria use the same tactic.

  • heydad

They are falling quickly for the trap. This is ISIS last stand and the last nail into their own coffin. Get terrorist to amass for failed offensive to be make quick targets for airforce and then a easier march east.

  • FlorianGeyer

A positive slant to this ISIS build up is that it takes some pressure off the SAA in Deir Ezzor City.

    • RichardD

It may be some form of last stand to try to draw resources away from the government advance south of these positions in the open desert, where the regime change elements are much more vulnerable, to try to slow it down.

    • dutchnational

No, thanks to Hezbollah cowards they got 600 hardened IS fighters that Hezbollah could not defeat in Aslan as reinforcements.

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Yes , they are women and children of the 300 or so should be effective with only 300 fighters who will be worried about their families around ISIS. Stop making me laugh terrorist scum supporter.

        • Gary Sellars

douchenational has always been a pathetic sucker of jihadi cock, and with the impending destruction of IS, his idiocy has only accelerated..

      • Gary Sellars

Fuck off terror supporter idiot…. any fool understands that its best to cut a deal to rid an area of terrorists than to stubbornly insist of fighting them to the last goat-raper. You save manpower and avoid unnecessary damage to infrastructure, and you clear out the terrorists and their supporters to a more distant area, concentrating them ready for a future big push once you can marshall your distributed forces and apply your manpower advantage.

Take that jihadist cock out of your mouth and come up for air once in a while…

        • dutchnational

An tomorrow those same goatfuckers will kill again right at the tip of where IS needs them most : around DeZ. Stupid. Stupid and stupid.

      • Justin

You are such a fuckin wanker!
        Couldn’t defeat my ass!
So if they couldn’t defeat them, why did ISIS get into buses supplied by the Syrian govt?
They were being slaughtered by Hezbollah and the Lebonese army!

Send me the link where it says “Hezbollah couldn’t defeat 600 isis fighters so made a treaty with them to safely deploy them to DeZ”.

You didn’t see ISIS giving up?

        You’re a fuck head!

        • dutchnational

          Again the ass thing.

Shouldn’t you not better visit a porn site better suited to your preference?

          • Justin

Job well done by Hezbollah, make isis quit! Bring them buses and ship them off!
Could have just as easily blown the buses up themselves. Seems isis trusts Hezbollah more than they trust the US!
U called them cowards, yet they put them into buses by hand! Like babies! And the US bombs these babies (and families with kids) from the air! Who did u say were cowards again?
the cowards are Kurds! Without USA they’d be running scared!

      • Marc Fischer

Hezbollah are definitely not cowards. How about you, armchair corporal? Risked your life to destroy ISIS lately? No, I didn’t think so. You are too busy with your battle of the laptop to the refrigerator

        • dutchnational

Describing yourself? Like the others here going for namecalling when you have no real arguments?

At Arslan Hezbollah were cowards. They were afraid to finish off the 300 (Assadophyles) to 600 (US) veteran surviving and battlehardened IS fighters in the pocket and, rather then sustain thew likely heavy lossess, offered IS a way out to where they can again fight SAA on the point of its advance near DeZ.

All the people those fighters kill are the responsability of those that let IS go unharmed. When a few months ago there was a rumor of SDF letting IS leave Raqqah, you all were villyfying SDF for cowards, traiters, jihadist etc. Cannot take your own medecine?

You are a bunch of fools and cowards here. Oh, and dear Marcoboy. When were you ever in Syria?I was once, long ago, which is more then you can say.

    • Lumen

To even it a bit out, US should equip ISIS with military equipment. Of course for good cash, like russia is doing with taliban in afgahnistan. :)

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Why do you assume Russia is arming the Taliban they have the exact same weapons when the US supplied them. Nudge! Nudge! Wink! Wink! you know what I mean!

      • FlorianGeyer

This is yet another US excuse for their failure. Russian weapons ,like US weapons are all over the world and many Russian designed weapons are made in many countries. Even the AK74 is being made in the US now to cater for US domestic demand.

And if we follow the US logic, the US is ‘also’ arming the Taliban and ISIS in Afghanistan as they both use US vehicles and weapons. Albeit equipment that the Afghan forces have lost or sold :)

  • Trustin Judeau

Is there Amaq statement or something like this about the capture of Sabkah and who is the source for this information ?

    • Michael Qiao

Sabkah was never recaptured in the first place at least from what I heard but I’m sure this entire attack will be thwarted once the rest of the tigers arrive

      • Trustin Judeau

Hassan Ridha says Sabkha is under gov control . He is relatively reliable . The information from this front is lets say suspicious

        • Michael Qiao

well then, maybe they didn’t report it

  • Jesus

These reinforcements and existing ISIS forces in the area will be surrounded and trapped in a pocket by advancing Tiger forces towards Bishri triangle and 5th corps advancing along the Sukhna – Deir Ezzor axis. With the Homs pocket eliminated, SAA and allies front lines are becoming more cohesive and shorter, allocating good troop concentration against depleted ISIS.

  • Michael Qiao

I don’t know why are they attacking the SAA in southern Raqqa when the SAA are making their way through Deir Ezzor via Palmyra DeZ highway, this offenisve is just a waste of manpower for ISIS which they cannot afford now especially when they’re down just to their Elite troops

    • VGA

It is harder to attack through open, flat desert.

  • Greywolf

Now if SDF start advancing to deir ezzor right now… This was coordinated with Isis.
SAA is advancing on Palmyra – Deir ezzor road right now. If rats jump between two fronts they will get slam by air force. If they stay there they will get trapped. No reason to do this. Only reason I see is that SDF wants to get to the city first when SAA is delayed by Isis. But its still not logical to me.

    • dutchnational

No, SDF is responding to the advance of SAA on the one hand and following the deal between Assad/Russia and US/SDF on spheres of influence. SDF advances north of the river, SAA south of the river. It seems likely that even in case of a SDF advance to near DeZ, SDF will let SAA and IS fight it out around DeZ city.

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

There is no deal between the parties and the US claims things that were never agreed upon all the time. The US has been prepping the Mercenaries near Raqqa to advance on SAA positions which this was their plan C now if Russia will man up and strike all forces attacking Syria this would help them in the long run.

      • Gary Sellars

You’re completely mad… There is ZERO chance that SAA will cede the areas East of DeZ to the Kurdish whores of Murica. Its Arab inhabited territory, and has significant oil fields. They’ll take DeZ, cross teh Euphrates and keep pushing. SDF midgets will be a little target practise along the way.

        • Dustil schmit

You keep living in that fantasy world you call him mad but look in the mirror.

  • Len Zegelink

the us send them ,isis is usa and israel.

  • DJ Double D

My source claims that SAA is taking serious heat from ISIS, but that US is in same bed with them as they supply them with weapons and intelligence. This shows that the US aim of destroying Syria is still the goal no matter what Trump says.

    • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The US military has always had it’s own agenda and plays it games when it gets caught they blame politicians for their actions.

    • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

Lol, every time SA-mercenaries gets their ass beaten up Russians fanboys cry for US support on IS. IF there were no US involvement, IS would have been strong enough to fight for Damascus.

      • DJ Double D

Yes, they would still be strong. But the very fact that US is the strongest of ISIS allies and make no secret of their hatred of Assad makes any support they can afford them paramount. Sure, If US is not involved in this war and in loving bed with them, ISIS will still be strong but not at this level.

        • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

As I said – without US air-power IS would be dominant in both Syria and Iraq. Russian targeting on IS is a joke compered to that.

It’s not my fault you don’t accept simple facts. You are just radicalized as IS, only that your radicalization is political not religious.

          • Solomon Krupacek

this is bullshit. in syria the usaf had and has much less activity. and this is normal.

          • DJ Double D

No, not at all. Just a normal guy.

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Another US/terrorist fanboy talking through his paper asshat again, ISIS enjoys huge US and Israel support as with their other tool Al Qaeda.

      • Gary Sellars

What a clown, drunk on fermented jihadi jism no doubt… A special type of stupid indeed…

        • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

Just read again my simple statement if you didn’t understand it. Its the pure reality, btw
Every time (and this has happened many times) SA mercenaries get smashed in the battlefield – US support for IS is the cause. Typical morons in love with russian propaganda. You counterpart in the US are equal dumb, btw :)

  • Carol Davidek-Waller

What reinforcements? ISIS/Daesh aren’t able to recruit many people. No one wants to join a failed war of aggression.

    • dutchnational

IS is conscripting now in and around DeZ and Assad has transported in luxury busses 600 hardened IS fighters to Bukanal out of Aslan.

    • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

dutchnational always spouts nonsense since the hardcore fighters haven’t seen action and women and children won’t make good hardcore fighters any ways.

  • John Brown

Notice how ISIS Israelis don’t attack the SDF Kurds, their new allies. Now Russian air power can destroy ISIS in the open.

    • Lumen

How should ISIS attack SDF? Shoot over the River? What should SDF do?

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They are the other side and already attack SAA by crossing the river, you are one dumb Lumenmox.

        • Dustil schmit

How are they suppose to being heavy equipment across the river dummy?

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Well easy unpractical dim dummy , the river at times is extremely low and quite easily crossed as many tanks can actually as long as it maintains a good speed and doesn’t get too flooded. You should watch some the tanking for dummies videos.

      • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

They are dumb in reasoning, just to prove their delusion :)

        • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Then there are the extremely delusional like you who seem to lack any reasoning.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

I am independent in my pov. while all the others are russian or us fanboys.

      • John Brown

Well when I look at the map of Syria I see North and East of Deri Azur city that ISIS has lots of territory on the SDF side of the river. Its actually easier for ISIS to bring reinforcements from Iraq to attack the SDF then it is to attack the SAA. So yes I can read a map and apparently you want me to believe that you can’t.
Oh and making a temporary bridge for pickups, in built up areas especially, is not so hard with the water levels on these rivers in the summer. Its not the Amazon river.

        • Dustil schmit

They attacked shaddi city last week.

    • gustavo

Good observation, and you needs to point this out strongly !!

  • RichardD

Everyone knew that the advance along the river in built up areas with a lot of civilians and stock piled resources would be more difficult, complicated, and time consuming as the government front line advanced down the river to Madan and DE. Which is why the Syrian government coalition is also advancing through the open desert from the west and south. And this will continue.

I’m sure that the Syrian government coalition is planning reach the river in places to start sectioning the river front regime change components, and to cross the river as well to open new fronts on the other side.
Along with possible air insertions on the other side of the river as well. It’s highly likely that preparatory air insertions on the other side of the river that aren’t being publicized for security reasons are occurring and have been for some time. Ranging from scouting activity to small unit detect and destroy missions.

  • dutchnational

So all the reports of SAA taking it all back were fake reports. In fact, IS is advancing. Soon, thanks to the cowards of Hezbollah and SAA near Aslan, IS will have 600 trained fighters extra as reinforcements. Transported in luxury busses paid for by Assad and the Russians.

Would it be irony if those same reinforments deal a blow to SAA and its untrained tribal forces? Strategic stupidity to transport your enemies from an unimportant sideshow to near the point of your advance where you just happen to be in the defensive due to a counterattack.

    • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Typicacl nonsense from a terrorist supporter , there were only 300 fighters and a bunch of children and women not much of trained fighters among them and one of the reasons they didn’t want to be in Idlib. They are not even combat effective which is the reason they were sent to Abu Kamal at least they won’t be killed for not being prepared.

      • dutchnational

What a load of BS. If those were not effective fighters, do you think Hezbollah would have let them go? Except for some wounded (11 ambulances I read) those were the survivors of a brutal fight that Hezbollah maybe could have wone if they had the stomach for the losses. They had not and likely those fighters will be fighting against SAA within one or two days of free up others to reinforce the counterattack of IS in southern Raqqah.

Even Iraq is mad at Assad for dumping them near their border.

        • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They weren’t and like I said there are more women and children would have looked good if the US bombed the buses with those dead children, but don’t worry ISIS is done and finished as this was planned for. Really none of the stuff you say can happen go tell your momma you need a diaper change , just like a little terrorist supporter baby you are.

    • Gary Sellars

douchenational and his pro-jihadi BS…. poor squealy little fag, patiently waiting to be made an ISIS bride… sorry buddy, they fuck (up) guys like you by flinging you off tall buildings….

  • Leon De Elias

This is cia and mossad coordinated Israeli and US,Saudi spec forces dressed as IS terrorists..and terrorists itself..

    • Lumen

That is the only logical explanation. My Thoughts: Greedy Syrian-Dictator overstreched it a bit.

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

NAH greedy US Junta overstretched itself and now is going to pay for it big time watch the reports after , this is a good way to find out the CIA weasel shit in the comment Section.

        • Lumen

To be honest, you are too deep in your very special own “Truth” and “Believes” that it doesnt make any sense talking to you.

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The one whom is deep in their own truths is you and stop with hiding behind the horse shit you are trying to sell. The problem is no one believes it here most of the people are not as stupid as some like you who spout the military mantra they are the real sheeple of this world ,so go BAA at some one else.

          • Bru

Southfront is not a site for people who believes the lies of the CIA, of US war propaganda and of the mass-media of the Western regimes. Do you believe the US regime was telling the truth about Irak’s WMDs?

        • SOF

Overstretched is an accurate term as Syria is part of a much larger desperate battle (Ukraine and Afghanistan among others) to preserve the Petrodollar. Syria was about who gets to lay the pipeline to Europe and continue forcing the world to use the US Petrodollar to buy oil. With Syria refusing, and the retarded actions of the Cabal with the shock troops of Daesh to keep the world in the old paradigm of US dollar as world reserve currency, have accelerated the process.

Its interesting that the Daesh flag has a lot of resemblance in color scheme to the Jolly Roger pirate flag, as both served to do the dirty work of their respective masters to get the ‘cheese’. Both were expendable regardless of how successful or unsuccessful their masters were.

US military is getting hardware that shows it doesn’t know what its doing, using the marketing term ‘stealth’ to have ships that can’t do its job, aircraft carriers with exploding engines and fighter jets that can’t fight.

The American citizens will have to do something fast with Trump’s latest Afghanistan announcement and the law allowing for warrantless searches (break down the door) as it is inevitable when the fascist state can’t beat up others, it will turn its security apparatus on its own citizens.

      • Leon De Elias

Syrian dictator huh..? I wish one day the terrorist yanks find your country lack of ”democracy” so you can tell me how it was.. No offense..just wake the fuck up..I am European and find this shit harder and harder to believe that in 2017 the US and NATO arms and trains hardcore terrorist throatslits and sending them against secular so called ”regimes” to take down countries and governments..Myself I never going to forgive these mfing war criminals for Libya and Syria..Nor Iraq..

    • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

If Saudi-US or Israeli would have helped IS even a little bit, Assad would have shared home with Yanukovich now. :)

But hey, you can be delusional as much as you want, no ofense

      • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

You are talking openly supporting them with military power that would start WW to the nth , so not in the way you suggest they had provided advisers and military equipment those are all fact and history now.

        • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

The fact is that IS has brought arm by non-state individuals when it had the resources. If you can make a deal with IS, I can not conclude that your country is behind that. IF thousands of russian citizens have joined IS, I cant say that russia is behind that. But you believe what suits your point of view, simple as that. And yet, its the US not Russia, who cut down IS resources in the region.

          • Solomon Krupacek

last sentence is false. russia cut down oil lines and oil money. russia showed for world the black business between isis and several countries.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

If I remember (and I sure do) russia targeted some trucks, got angered many people which were getting reach in Turkey – so got 2 planes brought down like little birds. RT began calling Turkey – terrorist state supporter all over its news – then … :)

          • Solomon Krupacek

russia all times bomb trucks. and also put on table the facts about contatct of turks (erdogans son) with isis.

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The assumptions that ISIS bought arms is pretty naive and lacking any credibility since you have left out who those providers were. You should check out another article here on southfront in regards to your uninformed assumption about the weapons being supplied, this was very much state influenced and carried by diplomatic pouch via silk the state run Azerbijan Govt carrier. The US still maintains sending arms to IS and had been supplying them to all players and responsible for all these deaths along with many other complicit nations.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

This bs. propaganda without any single fact. The reality is that all IS weapons display on their videos are weapons of failed Iraq and Syria armies. Is not a shame to accept the truth. US has pulverized IS weapons caches during this conflict. Russia has done…much much less

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The weapons are brand new and unregistered M4s manufactured in the US since they are stamped For US Military Only any selling of firearms like that which is prohibited by the holder of the licences of the M4s sales internationally to terrorist groups or uses on civilians. The US hasn’t even dented any IS weapons caches the only ones doing it are Russia and Syria with regularity where as the US it seems they are constipated most of the time.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

russian bullshits, common guys grew up and look at the facts and numbers
Russia involvement against IS is joke compared to what US has done

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The US contribution is a joke and has been rather ineffectual these are assessments done by experts and the common man. The US has continued to frustrate even it’s allies in this fight on terrorism by blocking any airstrikes against ISIS targets unless it specifies them. That has been like that from day one with the US which seems to be working more with ISIS than it’s allies.

The US still continues to kill civilians indiscriminately in Syria and where they get their alleged ISIS numbers which are all under current investigation as war crimes.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

complete russian nonsense / in their dumb propaganda they doubt US involvement against IS , then every time talk about being part of US anti-terror efforts.

This confuses the morons that believe this propaganda, like you.

As I said, Russian effort is a joke and the numbers have proven this. They were involved for 1 year and did not even make a gain against IS, under US started delivering the real blow.

          • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

RAH! RAH! USA ,the problem is this type of US propaganda is dated to the Second World War and previously in the First nothing new in that regards overstating their contribution is typical.

Despite evidence to the contrary the US is hip deep with ISIS, the only propaganda is by you since you have no facts to present only US Media and Military spin.

The World watched last year how all that the US did was do nothing but help ISIS in Syria , by bombing the SAA and allowing thousands of ISIS members flee Mosul go towards Syria with US blessings, this was no different in Aleppo by sending thousands again.

The US has hardly made any dent even in Iraq since a large part of that goes to the PMU and the Iraqi Army supporting one another. The US contribution was killing thousands of civilians not much unlike Syria.

The US continue to arm them and transfer them Afghanistan as they are a CIA/MOSSAD operation, they are used as a destabilizing force since Al Qaeda can’t do it alone anymore and unable to defeat the Taliban. This was evidenced by several sources of unmarked Helicopters in June 14 2017.

Give me a break with your BS and propaganda theory you are the only one believing one source the US military for your info.

They don’t call them the disinformation experts for nothing.

          • disqus_WlS7Fxybgw

The truth is old you are correct , not sure why you think I am Russian , you are definitely a US poser and can’t stand he truth about their own govt and are fearful of it being labeled as anything.

These are opinions shared by rest of the World while you in the US live in your goldfish bowls and have no clue what the US govt does. People like you are hopelessly thought controlled like Mira said on the Morning Joe “we tell you what to think” this is obvious in your comments. The thing is Mira should know she is after all Brzewzinski’s daughter this how much deep state runs the media Anderson Cooper’s mother is a Vanderbilt.
