The Iraqi Army and the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) liberated the town of Rashad and 45 villages during the 12th day of Operation of al-Hawija Liberation, according to an official statement released by the Iraqi military.
The military added that government forces killed “dozens” ISIS members during the advance. At least 13 ISIS members were killed and 6 ISIS vehicles were destroyed as a result of Iraqi airstrikes.
The Iraqi media outlet Alsumaria News said refering own source that Abu Karim al-Iraqi, a commander of ISIS special unit in the Hawija area, was killed near al-Riyad area near Hawija. Abu Karim al-Iraqi and another terrorist were reportedly killed when an airstrike hit their car.
