Iranian TV Claims '80 American Terrorists Killed' As US And Iraq Deny Any Casualties

Click to see the full-size image

All the sides involved in the January 8 escalation in Iraq provide conflicting reports on the results of the Iranian strike on US military facilities to avenge the United States’ assassination of its senior commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Iran

Initial reports said that 10 missiles were launched. The total number was not provided.

Iranian state television said that at least 80 “American terrorists” were killed in Iranian strikes on the US-operated Ayn al-Assad airbase and the US military facility near the city of Erbil. It added that US aircraft and military equipment were “severely damaged”.

According to the report citing a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) source, Iran had 100 other targets in the region in its sights if Washington took any retaliatory measures.

In a separate statement the IRGC said that none of the launched missiles were intercepted. However, it did not provide the assessment of the impact of the strike.

Iraq

Iraq’s military said that 22 missiles were launched on the Ain al-Asad air base in  Anbar province and a base in the Iraqi Kurdish capital Erbil.

“Iraq was subjected between 1:45 and 2:45 this morning of 8 January 2020 to bombardment by 22 missiles; 17 missiles fell on Ain al-Asad air base including two that did not explode … and five on the city of Erbil that all fell on coalition headquarters. No casualties among Iraqi forces were recorded,” the statement said.

According to the Iraqi military, 2 of the 17 missiles targeting Ain al-Asad did not go off. The missiles aimed on Erbil all targeted coalition headquarters.

The military said that there were no casualties among Iraqi forces.

United States

The United States said that at least a dozen missiles were launched. Further reprots claimed that 10 of them hit the US-operated Ayn al-Assad airbase, one struck the area near Erbil city (a US military facility is located there). 4 missiles allegedly failed.

The Pentagon said that there were no casualties among US personnel claiming that the only casualties were Iraqis.

If this is really video from the attack. It looks like that base got hit pretty hard to me. I doubt that there were no casualties.

    • Zionism = EVIL

That is a rational conclusion. These were heavy payload missiles followed by a cruise missile strike.

The US Ain al-Assad air base in W. Iraq and a US facility at Irbil, capital of the
Kurdish republic, were hit by 35 missiles early Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020.

      • Jens Holm

You certainly is from a country with high inflation.

  • RichardD

“A military source from Tehran told Sputnik that Iranian military jets are airborne and currently flying in border areas as the operation takes place.

Earlier Wednesday morning, approximately 35 missiles were launched and struck US targets in Erbil, Iraq and the country’s Ayn al-Asad Air Base, which houses US military forces.”

Yeah I heard it was 100 initially, targeted base housing, if Pentigon is denying this it means they are trying to de-escalate the situation and withdraw.
Also whispers about a plane scrambled from Al Udeid Qatar shot down over the gulf.

    • Issam

The IRGC claimed They targeted command control centers. which is a big possibility.

      • Zionism = EVIL

US losers have imposed a total news blackout and locked up journalists, but sooner or later videos will leak out.

        • RichardD

Press TV and Fars are both down in the US where I am. Website availability test says that they’re up. But I can’t get them on Chrome, Bing or Firefox.

You have to enable the VPN and then you can select which country to pipe through. Are you sure that you have enough monitors? 😂

          • RichardD

Thank you for the clarification. I just loaded the browser and ran the search.

Not surprised at all. Happy new year.

          • FlorianGeyer

And to you as well. Lets hope that 2020 brings more stability and peace to Syria, Iraq, Iran and even Turkey. The 4 nations united could even bring along the Gulf States from the US orbit.

          • ruca

            Much agreed!

I enabled the Opera VPN feature and am now able to get around the block. Thank You

The entire internet in Europe went on a major go slow immediately as the attack unfolded, which was 30 mins before news coverage started to air

        • occupybacon

Indeed, you simply can’t hide that number of casualties, if there will be 0 casualities that means Iran announced US the targets so they can negotiate a deescalation.

          • Jake321

            That’s likely.

          • Free man

The Iranians apparently decided not to commit suicide.
No one realy expected a significant response from the Iranians.
They are jihadists but not complete fools.

          • dontlietome

They are not jihadists nor fools, unlike you. Free man, ha laughable, not free nor man, more like zionist bitch.

          • Free man

“They are not jihadists..” – LOL.
You are right the mullahs converted to Christianity,
They no longer fulfilling their jihadist duties.
            LOL.

        • Jens Holm

I dont see that at all.

        • FlorianGeyer

When the US states ‘ Nothing to see here ,move on’ we know thay are pissed :)

          • frankly

Too me the Iranian promise to attack Israel if any response is big. Iran has not responded to the assassination yet. This is a delay tactic, they will choose the time!

Every day without full mayhem finds the Empire weaker and the resistance stronger. For an idea of how much. Look at the charts for debt.

I would love to read some articles about how the influence of one man could make any difference in the bigger scheme of things. Somehow losing Qassem makes them stronger, not weaker. You have galvanized your enemy.

So good job US, Making America Go Away. With the Iranians it might be an intentional suicide mission, for the US, it will amount to suicide to follow your orders. Not sure motivated troops are as good as brain washed ones, but we will find out.

Trump’s speech this morning was interesting in how the emotion in his voice was often the opposite of the words he spoke. Somehow his heart does not seem to be in this effort, we all have our orders, as does he.

          • FlorianGeyer

We are all privileged to actually see the writhing, lying and shear desperation of a dying empire. In this case, the dis-United States of America.

        • frankly

Make America Go Away! The new MAGA.

I question the old sooner or later adage. Too many big stories that never get traction even with video. For instance Seth Rich. Just gone! Julian Assange, gone!

For these times ancient history is yesterday.

  • Zionism = EVIL

The real toll is higher as now it is believed that over 35 cruise missiles and land based medium range missiles were used.

    https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/db0eec1c13f76da73fbad1f6695133fce1118b8c1ff92af9fa43afb64de9e8fc.jpg

    • Kell McBanned

If the Americans are covering it up then Trump is trying to extract himself – 100 dead Americans as a result of his whims wont look good another reason for cover up.

      • Zionism = EVIL

Like I have said before and predicted this strike. Iran is quite prepared and the saner heads in Pentagon know it. Trump is a coward and an idiot. If they escalate then the gates of hell will open in the region. Dubai and Tel Aviv are guaranteed to be hit. No wonder all the Sheiks are in Spain and rich dual passport Zionist scum are headed for a sudden “vacation” to Cyprus..

        • Karen Bartlett

Um, you mean the “gates of Heaven” b/c the gates of hell reside in the US.

      • Black Waters

That sounds more like it, the U.S always heavily cover up their deads, same as the brits.

      • Jake321

Believe what you want. But if it were 100, it would be the beginning of the end of Iran as a functioning country.

        • Concrete Mike

Heard that one before, NEXT !!!!

    • Jake321

The toll is ZERO. Try to get the basics correct.

    • Karen Bartlett

  • Tommy Jensen

All our boys returned safe to their home base on US soil in Iraq…………………….LOL. We stay until you have paid!

    • Zionism = EVIL

  • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

    wow!!!! the POWER of Iran!!!!

    • Zionism = EVIL

Even a good editorial in Jew York Times:

Trump’s latest attempt to bully another country has backfired

International crises often lead, at least initially, to surging
support for a country’s leadership. And that’s clearly happening now.
Just weeks ago, a prominent world leader faced public discontent so
intense that his grip on power seemed at risk. Then the assassination of
General Qassem Soleimani transformed the situation, generating a wave
of patriotism that has greatly bolstered the government of Iran and enraged its armed forces.

      • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

hahahaha the jew york times that is too good lmao

        • dontlietome

Here are some others for you; Jew tube, Jewggle and The Jewnited States of America, Pisrael, Satanyahoo, etc. Enjoy !

    • Jake321

To send all those missiles and hit little more than open ground. They are about as good as Hamas.

Western corporate media (cnn, bbc, reuters) working hard to cover up Trump’s ass

      • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

      • Concrete Mike

        You racist prick.

        • אני מייקל

Sand people are a culture, not a race.

          • FlorianGeyer

            So is Zionism :)

          • dontlietome

Can we really associate Zionism with a culture ????????? A culture denotes traits and customs which enrich that race and humanity as a whole……………..this cannot be said of a race of necrophilia/paedophile blood sucking cockroaches that eat human flesh and drink human blood, who act as shit encrusted footstools of lucifer………………. some how “Culture ” just does not fit their image.

          • FlorianGeyer

            Good point :)

      • Jens Holm

        No famly pictures – please.

      • dontlietome

You are one of them you sand nigga.

  • Selbstdenker

Well, Raytheon’s Patriot system might not sell so well anymore?

    • Cronos Sin Apellidos

Is Patriot system deployed in Iraq?

      • Zionism = EVIL

Yes and in the petro-pimpdoms of Saudis, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait, not to mention Qatar. But they failed in Saudi Arabia and will fare no better. Dubai, Kuwait and Bahrain can be hit by 175 mm Iranian base bleed coastal artillery anyway and no missiles are needed.

    • Jake321

Why? It proved that it does not waste missiles on incoming missiles it calculates will hit open ground and course little or no damage.

      • Friend of Russia

Oh yeah? So patriot is so intelligent

      • Concrete Mike

        Oh thats your excuse?

LMAO its mildly better than it wasent pointing in the right direction.
Still a lame ass excuse. Its too early anyways.

      • FlorianGeyer

I hear that that Israeli gang rape is all the rage in Cyprus now.

    • Jake321

You see all that at the bottom of your Vodka ration bottle, Igor?

      • Jimmy Jim

hahahha Jew cunt, you did not get the hasbara memo…lol

    • Jens Holm

Thats a relative. Almost all are non fighting troops and cant defend themselves and should be protected by the Bagdad Goverment.

Of course they are worried, but fleeing is not the same as common sense.

Our soldiers are there fo helping the Iraqian forces up as well as fighting ISIS not to fight or defend ourselves only agains the morons ignoring the many demonstraters agains the Goverments in the Region.

  • Leon

If the information of 80 dead and 200 injured is true (which I doubt) it is impossible for the Americans to find that proportionate. If there is no US retaliation, there are no or very few victims. This would mean that the Iranians warned the US of the attack. Wait and see!

    • Paul

They did warn them. They said to not be within a 1km of US bases.

      • Leon

Yes , you’re right ! They warn the irakis not to be within 1km but it was a message to the US

        • Paul

          I think it was

    • Kell McBanned

The israelis shit their pants when Iranian military movements and Hez arming their 200 000 missiles pointed at Israel – they have the US over a barrel, make a move and their baby israel gets its throat cut in the cot

      • Romeo Pesiao

Haha, Hiz will take the wrath of Israel, wait and see..

        • Concrete Mike

You.mean IDF.will.bomb lebanese civilians, we know its the only trick in your bag of dicks.

This is a mess of your creation, shit flows downhill buddy how is it down there in the hole?

  • verner

good good if true and if not true give it another try – it’s time for the disunited states of A to start the body bagging their grunts, poor sods that they are, back home so that all and sundry back there can see what american foreign thievery missions accomplishes – for the elite in residence – war-profits and for the rest, hardship, no healthcare, crumbling infrastructure and so on!

    • Jake321

It’s not true and they will not give it another try if the US doesn’t respond. Get real.

      • verner

joke123 – the disunited states standing in the world and in the middle east is crumbling and they will soon be forced to leave at least iraq and possibly turkey as well leaving the friggin thieving and murdering jews more alone than ever before. that will be the end of israel where the illegal murdering thieves will start pushing up daisies

        • Paul

          Joke321braincells

  • Jake321

Iranians better pray that report is not true. If it is, there will be countless thousands of dead Iranians in short order.

    • Jimmy Jim

hahhaha Jew cunt read the latest hasbara memo,

      • Jake321

Nahhhhhhhhh…all the reliable reports coming out of Iraq from sources on all sides. No significant damage and no US casualties. Islamist Iran made a symbolic attack and are praying the US won’t respond. Damn, they are begging the US not to respond.

    • Kell McBanned

You better pray Hez doesnt turn Israel to ash lol

      • Jake321

Why? Much more likely that if any such attempt was made, Iran would be turned into a glow in the dark parking lot.

        • Karen Bartlett

Does Hasbara or Mossad pay you guys by the comment, on a piece-work type system, or by the hour?

  • Romeo Pesiao

80 casualties??? if it is true maybe this moment US fighter jets will be in a bombing amocked over Iran.

    • Jake321

If there were that many, Iran would be hit with way more than just fighter bombers. And within days, Iran would have no Airforce, no air defenses, no more nuke facilities, no navy, no oil industry and way way less Islamist Murdering Mullahs…for starters. But it’s not true and Iran might get to live another day.

      • Friend of Russia

By the way which way is the patriot pac 3sam looking now?

        • Concrete Mike

Lmao , obviously toward the dastardly turks!!!!

        • verner

in the wrong directions, you bet! hohoho the disunited states of A are good for a laugh now and then.

      • Jens Holm

I agree, and as long as the many eduters and some some soldiers in Iraq and Syria is not safe, hardly anything will happen.

      • verner

dream on – delusions are free for idiots.

    • Friend of Russia

US fighter jets have already fled to Philippines

    • Jens Holm

Thats the old days. None amaricans and others should killed for even 100 iranians.

    • usa=nazi

you are mixing reality with hollywood crap :)

  • Darko Dakić

    and patriots pointed wrong direction…again

  • michaelj72a

I bet that Iran informed Russia of the sites that were going to be hit, and Russia then informed the US, so it got most of its people out of the way and into the bunkers etc….Planes and equipment were likely blown up. Ten+ missiles is not a lot of firepower, ya know….

the purpose was not so much to kill anyone as to make a show of force in revenge for Soleimani’s murder and to inflict a big wound on America’s pride.

Iran obviously does not want to escalate beyond a certain point, and I imagine that cooler heads in DC now don’t want to either….

I would bet that the DoD has advised trump not to respond and to let it stand at that, then to start to skedaddle out of Iraq and Syria……

    • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

That would be a huge disrespect to soleimani, making deals with your enemy to save face because you are afraid of the consequences? I don’t think he would have ever done anything like that but who knows what really happened and how many died, if any

    • verner

as when trump asked Iran if he could fire a couple or so missiles on pre-agreed targets, after that Iran downed the american drone last summera and iran said no.

    • Peter Williams

They informed the US via the Swiss Embassy in Tehran, prior to the attack.

    • Karen Bartlett

CNN according to SF said Iraqi “sources” informed the US of the strike.

  • TTdr

How did Iran get the exact 80 casualties number so fast, while US is still counting?

Both sides are playing psyops, both are lying.

    • Jens Holm

So far it seemes to be a fake to make the many i Kermit Town eastern bunny Iran happy.

    • goingbrokes

Not necessarily lying. You can be sure Iran has eyeballs near the sites and initial estimates get passed on immediately. With US you can never tell, but they mostly lie.

  • Rhodium 10

USA dont display Photos …because accord Iraqi military sources many aircraft have been destroyed…included V-22 Osprey, Black hawk,Apache,Chinook…

Good ..US invaders should leave the region of Middle east..no one want American oppressors in their nation.
