Iranian Revolutionary Guards Release Close Drone Footage Of US Aircraft Carrier

Screen grab from the IRGC footage.

On April 21, the Iranian Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) released close drone footage of a US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.

According to Iranian media, the IRGC shared the footage to demonstrate its state-of-the-art advancements in the field of drone technology. The footage was captured by a four-strong drone squadron. The exact type of the drones was not disclosed.

The footage shows the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) aircraft carrier, sailing alongside the USNS Choctaw County (T-EPF-2) support vessel.

The IRGC didn’t provide any further details on the footage. However, the US Navy Chief of Information noted on Twitter that EA-6B Prowler jets, which were retired in 2015, can be seen in the footage.

This indicated that the footage released by the IRGC was filmed around six to seven years ago. A date seen in the last part of the video reads 16-6-2016.

The IRGC released similar drone footage before. Last September, footage showing the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier and other vessels from its strike group in the Persian Gulf were shared by the guards.

The release of such footage is meant to demonstrate the capabilities of the IRGC as well as to warn US troops in the Persian Gulf.

Assad must stay

ahahhahaahha it was literally right above their heads

farbat

sepah e pasdaran is indeed inside their heads

farbat

i talked to quite a number of veterans from america some of them are quite wild in their believes about iran and some are smarter about it some suggest even that iran has connections with aliens

farbat

iam just like one iranian guy not part of an organisation but what i saw was quite interesting

farbat

the zionists are much more interesting they cant claim they didnt hear our warnings yet look at how ruinous they behave

Liberal guy

I told many times its game over for babylon only decline and decline ahead and presently

farbat

they want to normalize decline and continue going on in fact they see this just as a short low

farbat

the west suggests that its boom and bust cycle mess is during its best time simply because they suggest a very bad bust will give a very good boom cycle

farbat

what they dont understand that their delusions about automatization of the entire economy even of the society will ruin them entirely and cause constant internal conflict since absolute security wealth and power becomes more visible in the hands of a very few

farbat

for example it will go so far that security for a wealthy will mean insecurity for many poor and they will lose people and such which will cause anger and eventually conflict

farbat

you call it inequality and you cant have this if you dont seek to decline and collapse just let me put you ferdowsi quote here to make the point the issue is that security tranquility and community keep this thing running and it has to be equally spent therefore you always have to have to bridge classes so they dont struggle against eachother because of being completely alien to eachother

farbat

this whole thing called america worked for the white better than others and even whites had problems like for example some irish germanics and slavic groups

verner

if they can get that close I s’pose they caan also drop a few bombs in the range 100 to 200 pounds. enough to fuck up the career of a few us navy sailors and make starting and landing nigh impossibl.

ruca

It goes to show that the IRGC had drone technology for quite a while so they have had lots of time to advance their designs. I would also note that this drone wasn’t shot down before it was right over top of the carrier. I wonder how much payload they can carry now. Enough to disable a control tower?

Supreme Blyat

I guess a small explosion with shrapnels on the deck would make the entire thing unusable, probably sailing back to San Diego for close inspection.

tzatz

Just had a fire 🔥 on an Iranian oil
Tanker off Syria?

Who would do such a thing?

Supreme Blyat

Hmm… *wondering*

Lone Ranger

Its seems U.S. radars cant detect them…
Ouch…

Oliver Eitel

this means the Iranians can pin point american vessels….they could theoritically lunch ballistic missiles and artillery shells agains no jamming and emp devices can protect….bum bad suprise as this non radar using missiles would appear out of nowhere to late to defend and bang bum bang

Steve Standley

I have a question for the military aficionados around here: who has the advantage in small-object (ex, 1 kg drone) radar systems? How much range can you get out of the mm radar used for small high velocity projectiles? How sensitive is the phalanx system aboard these aircraft carriers? This ^ exposes a big weakness, and this weakness is fairly critical to near future conflicts.

Steve Standley

Thanks!. I like “combat approved” and I haven’t seen this one. It will undoubtedly give some insight.

ruca

You’re welcome. They target a small hand-held quadrocopter in this episode.

tzatz

Netflix? So … last year … eh? lol

DeathToPutin+CommieLukashenko

Iran barely has video quality to see that it is indeed a a fighter jet whereas the US drones have video quality to count how many hairs you have on your face.

Lone Ranger

Hi Ukropnazi…
Got your daily coal and vodka rations today…?

farbat

you must be kidding me irans drones capture the numbers on each of these planes and the american sailors pilots and soldiers themselves are known by name their education training and specialization is known among other things

US admits: Iran’s drones beat US air superiority

Meanwhile, the head of the US Central Command, which oversees the American forces stationed in the West Asia region, revealed to the US Congress that the Iranian drone power had stripped the American air force, of what the commander called, its upper hand in the world.

General Frank McKenzie was commenting in written testimony to the House Armed Services Committee when he noted how Washington was daunted by Iran’s far-and-wide application of small- and medium-sized drones for surveillance and attacks.

Iran’s widespread use of the aircraft for the purposes, he said, meant that “for the first time since the Korean War, we are operating without complete air superiority.”

“Until we are able to develop and field a networked capability to detect and defeat UAS (unmanned aerial systems), the advantage will remain with the attacker,” he said.

Iran, therefore, poses a daily threat to the US and its allies in the Middle East as America’s military superiority in the region wanes, the general said.

tzatz

Iranian oil tanker attacked by drone off Syria?

Must be a ‘runaway’ drone … eh?

farbat

people like you who depend on american superiority are going to be defenseless

farbat

the manner precision strike capability and survailance works these days has changed and today are drones and microsatellites who do the same job of survailance drones and big spy satellites and iran uses both drones and microsatellites with having cluster micro satellite carriers developed if needed

farbat

the usa is a dying snake get used to it

Arch Bungle

Tread on it.

HB_Norica

You don’t understand what you’re seeing. If Iran can get that shot that carriers exact location is known. If it’s location is know it can be targeted with anti-shipping missiles. The USA has always claimed that it’s carriers are safe from missiles because they are so hard to find in the vast ocean …. this is iran’s “hold my beer” moment.

That carrier isn’t in the Persian gulf btw … it in the Arabian sea.

Supreme Blyat

Wrong. USA clamed they are safe because they are far away, not because they are “hard to find”. It’s not 1940 to be “hard to find in the vast ocean”.

tzatz

BS … GPS co-ordinates are easily available … ask the Mossad

Arch Bungle

The US Navy has pretty shitty video quality too. If you remember that crappy video they let out trying to prove the Iranians were removing mines from ship hulls.

Cromwell

The drone should have dropped a big giant Teddy Bear on the deck to let themknow it could have been a bomb.comment image

Supreme Blyat

It should have a parachute also.

MyWikiDisQus

Looks like Lockheed Martin’s latest flying origami on the deck of the carrier.

Hmm, I don’t see the giant, hairy hand that will pick them up one by one and launch them into the air. The Iranian drone should go back for another peek.

tzatz

Ow … so scary … the paper tiger can take pics?

Who knew? lol

You hit the ship and the Ayatollah / IRGC ARE VAPORIZED … eh?

Make My Day …

next

Cromwell

That wouldn’t help the five thousand poor bastards on that carrier who would be toast.

tzatz

That wouldn’t help the 500,000 poor bastards in Iran who would be toast.

Cromwell

Try telling that to the 5000 on the carrier.

tzatz

They’re in service … it’s their fate … that’s what they signed up for

The 500,000 did not …
