On January 6th, Iranian news agency Fars published a video showing a mock US President Donald Trump assassination.
The video is titled “Hey US! You started, we will end it.”
A warning to the US that says, “if you begin the war, we will end the war” appears on a black screen before the video cuts to an Iranian sniper loading his weapon.
The sniper then looks at a picture of Soleimani and then peers out the window and sees Trump speaking at a podium and shoots him as Secret Service scrambles to get him off the stage.
In the end of the video, the phrase “in the name of GD, the beneficent, the merciful,” appears on a black screen.
The shooter in the video has a ring that is strikingly similar to the one General Qassem Soleimani wore, it was initially to use to identify the deceased general, after the US strike.
The video can be seen below.
The original video was from a 2016 Trump rally in Reno, in which somebody from the audience shouted “gun” and he was escorted by secret service off stage. The event took place just days before he was officially elected president.
“Immediately in front of the stage, an unidentified individual shouted ‘gun.’ Secret Service agents and Reno Police Officers immediately apprehended the subject. Upon a thorough search of the subject and the surrounding area, no weapon was found,” the Secret Service wrote in a statement.
This, incidentally, isn’t the only video purportedly showing Trump being assassinated, as there are numerous such examples all over social media, whilst most of them are being removed.
This is understandable, as Iranian State TV broadcasted call for a $80 million prize on his head for the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani.
Iran, furthermore, maintains that its enemy is the US President and it has nothing against the US citizens, nor it wishes to harm them in any presumed or real conflict.
The military adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, Maj. Gen. Hossein Dehghan said that any response against the US would be against military sites.
“It might be argued that there could be proxy operations. We can say America, Mr. Trump, has taken action directly against us — so we take direct action against America.”
Dehghan responded defiantly to Trump’s warning that if Iran responded, an even stronger response would follow from the US.
“It was America that has started the war. Therefore, they should accept appropriate reactions to their actions,” he said.
“The only thing that can end this period of war is for the Americans to receive a blow that is equal to the blow they have inflicted. Afterward they should not seek a new cycle.”
Dehghan further said that Trump’s tweets saying that the US could target 52 Iranian targets, including cultural sites were ridiculous and absurd.
“If he says 52 we say 300 — and they are accessible to us,” Dehghan said. “No American military staff, no American political center, no American military base, no American vessel will be safe.
He doesn’t know international law. He doesn’t recognize UN resolutions either. Basically he is a veritable gangster and a gambler.”
