Iran has officially revealed a domestically-built radar at Vahdat-e-Birak radar site in the city of Zahedan near the border with Pakistan, Fars News Agency reported on January 19.

The inauguration ceremony took place in the provincial capital of Sistan, Baluchestan Province, by Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard, the commander of the Iranian Army’s Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base.

Earlier, a deputy commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, told IRNA that Iran was enhancing the range and altitude covered by its radars as well as the precision of the equipment’s performance. He also stated that the country will soon unveil its achievements in the area.

According to Brigadier General Elhami, Iranian experts were developing radars that will be capable of tracking satellites travelling in the orbits close to the Earth’s surface.

    Good, very good.
Soon, the coalition of free countries will replace Russian tech fiasco with Iranian ones.
Iranians even seems ahead on the anti-satellite front

is not about technical issues with the russians, is about the political egg-dance of weak decisionmakers in Moscow….

  • Real Anti-Racist Action

How about Iran build 6 or 7 new radar stations inside of Syria and Lebanon. Cover Syria’s borders with Jordan and Iraq. Syria is currently the front line defending humanity.

They would quickly be bombed by Israel/Russia.

      • LR captain

Isael/US, russia has to nothing to do with it unlike stupid western state are dependent the US policy, money, military, tech and political promise.
eastern states seem to be keen their own tech, inda for example can produce replacements parts for T-90 (with a full licence from Russia) Iran first builds domestic fighter that is (mediocre) on the modern battlefield. Now they are working on radar tech.

Now in west we see companies merge and merge. there is no competition no real reason to innovate. so we get priced pieces of trash.

      And defending Iran itself.
I firmly believe Iran and Russia are helping Syria just enough for it to win but not prosper or return to its prewar power.

Like the US did with The UK and France. Helped but secretly hoped the two would not come back to their former glory to compete with them in the post- war Order.

Political talk, why would any country reveal where their radar sites are.

    • LR captain

well they only revealed it at an air defense base kind of the logical place to go look for one.

See how quickly nations can advanced when they have a unified purpose and are free from FUKUS/israel manipulation.

  • d’Artagnan

Wonder why Iran is not deploying anything in Syria, where its soldiers are getting slaughtered?

Despite the harsh sanctions on the industrial sector, the indiscriminate bombing of research facilities, the murder of scientists and political figures, bribe, espionage and foreign sabotage in general, the Iranians currently develop their arsenal of defensive measures in a short period of time.
Always admired the Iranians for their cultural and now technological proceedings.
