The Indian Air Force (IAF) used Israeli-made Spicie-2000 heavy guided bombs in its attack on an alleged camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ThePrint reported on February 26 citing senior military sources.

The airstrike came in response to a suicide bombing in India-controlled Kashmir on February 14 that killed 40 Indian soldiers and injured many others.

According to the Indian outlet, five Mirage 2000s carried out the airstrike on the alleged camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed. A number of Su-30 MKIs, a mid-air tanker and two Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) also participated in the aerial attack that took place in the early hours of February 26.

The Spicie-2000 is guided by an internal navigation system (INS) combined with GPS. The bomb also uses an advanced electro-optical seeker with digital seen matching area correlator (DSMAC) technology to achieve pinpoint accuracy. Despite its heavy 1,000kg warhead, the glide bomb has a range of more than 60km, which give it the capability to strike high-risk targets from a stand-off distance.

The IAF’s initial plan was use the Spicie-2000’s stand-off capability to strike the alleged camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed without violating Pakistan’s airspace. However, strong wend from the west to the east forced the Indian Mirage 2000s to penetrate 10km deep within Pakistan before releasing their bombs, as one military source told ThePrint.

India claims that the airstrike destroyed six barracks within the alleged camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed and killed more than 350 member of the armed group. However, Pakistan insists that the attack didn’t result in any casualties or notable damage.

The Indian attack led to a serious escalation. On February 27, Pakistan said that the Pakistani Air Force had shot down two IAF warplanes. In turn, the Indian side confirmed that it had lost one jet claimed that one Pakistani warplane had been shot down.

However, according to experts, it is unlikely that the situation will lead to an open hot war between the states.

Sure, the Israelis are experts on bombing civilians, why not use their tech if that is your goal?

    • Art Garcia

Bombing terrorist civilian who like cowards hide with their families.

      • Raptar Driver

Anyone can be labeled a ‘terrorist’, doesn’t justify bombing civilians clown boy.

        • Art Garcia

Plenty of terrorists coming from the middle east muslin countries. Bet you cannot deny that.

          • Raptar Driver

Because they are labeled as such instead of freedom fighters or the like. Remember the Mujahideen? They were called freedom fighters and the U.S. backed them, were they F.F or terrorists?
It seems if they perform a function that is of our liking then freedom fighters they are, if not then terrorists.

          • Art Garcia

But then on the other hand these terrorists are killing American civilians. Killing French, German civilians for no reason other than they are not muslin
The Mujaheddin supplied and paid by the US government killed Russian soldiers in Afghanistan.

          • Raptar Driver

Is it them or the secret services that sponsor them doing these killings?

          • Art Garcia

The Pakistani Secret Service is a government of it own.

          • Raptar Driver

I meant U.S., U.K. and Israeli secret services, they are behind most terrorist activities.

          • Art Garcia

Where the hell did you get that information from. Do you have any credible source to back up your statement that ” U.S., U.K. and Israeli secret services, they are behind most terrorist activities.
Sound like you are watching to many TV programs

          • Raptar Driver

You don’t know that ISIS is a creation of these special services like Al-Qaeda and the Mujahideen? I mean how long has your head been in your ass? Time to pull it out and connect the dots, I barley watch TV. The U.S. doesn’t even really hide these facts, what more credible sources do you need, an affidavit from the CIA?

          • Art Garcia

Dude you need somekind of reference to back up your statement. . I think you are the guy who some how makes things up.

          • Raptar Driver

Dude, what type of reference you need to see what’s in front of your eyes?
Should I have such a thing with secretive government agencies? The U.S. government admits it supplied the Mujahideen, now connect the dots, there will be no official documents, otherwise it wouldn’t be a covert operation. You don’t want to know so you don’t, that’s your problem, do the detective work and you will see it clearly, otherwise I can’t help you in self imposed ignorance.

          • Art Garcia

The mujahideen does not mean ISIS. ISIS was created because of the vacuum created by Saddam’s demise. ISIS is Sunni a minority in Iraq which Saddam belonged too. You still have not come up with specifics. The mujahideen could be Shia if you really stop to think about it.

          • Raptar Driver

The Mujahideen were mostly Sunni and there is a liner relationship from them to ISIS and in a short while we will see another group, all the same and same sponsors.

          • Art Garcia

Terrorist activities, give me a break. The allied secret services are defending their population from Muslin terrorists. You should know that.

SF: It’s not spicie, it’s SPICE (Smart, Precise Impact, Cost-Effective). They’re precision guidance kits you strap on a dumb bomb. In this case, a 2000 lb. Mk 84 (~1000 kg., i guess), thus SPICE 2000. They can be used as internal navigation/GPS/DSMAC only munitions, but nobody would use these painfully-expensive bombs like that. The range of this strike seems more like a SPICE 1000 (has wings).

They are monitored during flight in the cockpit and optionally steered to their targets in their terminal phase by (in this case) the Mirage pilots using an RF link. No idea if an Indian Mirage 2000 (H?) has that capability – just saying that nobody would waste these on an ordinary precision stand-off strike. Which also brings up and interesting point calling into question India’s claims: regardless if they manually steered these bombs or not, the RF link would have transmitted the SPICE optical/IR seekers view the entire time. That video should have been recorded in the Mirage. India could prove their claims pretty quickly by publishing the strike video.

I’m more inclined to believe India here, but that’s wishful thinking. Deobandi extremists and Wahhabi extremists in Pakistan are both Saudi products. It just cost Saudi Arabia more to bribe Deobandi clerics to go to an even more extreme full-Wahhabi Iranian genocide ideology. In any case, the Pakis were obviously pissed off about whatever happened.

    • Zionism = EVIL

The Zionist scum are promoting wars all over the world from Sudan to Kashmir. According to Pakistani sources and blogs, it was the Zionist scums idea to goad the idiotic and piss weak Indians into launching an ill-conceived “surgical strike” into Pakistan, a armed to the teeth belligerent pugnacious country with a first rate rate airforce. The idiotic Indian dropped these dud Zionist bombs on a forest and got whacked by a superior foe, not afraid to hit back. There is a lesson for Iran and Syria as well, invest in a good airforce and don’t hesitate to use it. The “shah” with al his faults was a pilot and a visionary and invested in the best aircraft of the day, money could buy like the F-14A Persian Cat and F-4E in large numbers, the Pakistanis have wisely done the same. Iran better strengthen its airforce, that despite all the missiles, airpower is still KING as Pakistan has shown. Now India will back down and sulk and won’t be listening to Zionist scum hopefully and stop the repression in Kashmir.

      • Art Garcia

The Pig Arab terrorist cannot hide. Ignorant Arabs don’t have the brains to match Israel’s technology and have never developed a state of the art missile. Arabs are killing each other and have been doing this for centuries.

        • Zionism = EVIL

          Are you a Jew pig?

          • Art Garcia

            Are you a goat?

        • H Eccles

I know this is going to do little to the putrified hatred that you keep spewing in every comment you make, but Pakistanis are NOT Arabs.. and never have been.

Ask yourself who the ignorant one is…

          • Art Garcia

I did not say that Pakistanis are Arabs. Should of said the middle east along with Iran and Pakistan are very backward countries probably because they do not have democratic governments.. Bet you can’t name any Muslin country that is prosperous in that part of the world unless you consider Turkey to be prosperous.

        • Sinbad2

Just to put your rant into perspective.
Israel does not possess the technology to enrich uranium to bomb grade, and relies on bomb grade uranium from the USA. It also stole some from the Soviets many years ago. Meanwhile in Iran Pakistan and India they can do the complete process.

Most Israeli weapons are actually based on technology developed by the US, like this bomb.
The constant Jewish diatribe against Arabs is pretty silly, because Jews are Arabs.
Israel has little or no domestic technology, it’s all bought or stolen from advanced countries.

          • Art Garcia

I don’t know about that Sinbad that Israel does not know how to enrich uranium into to bombs. Remember many Jews that immigrated from the Soviet Union were scientists working on Atomic bombs. There are rumors that Israel already has a bomb. I guess that technology was stolen from the soviet when they immigrated from the Soviet Union.
Gee whiz where did you get the idea that Israel has no domestic technology? Do you ever read Israeli news? I do. Why do you think all these hi tech companies like intel, microsoft, etc have research labs there?
What makes you think “all their technology is bought and stolen? That is an asinine comment. Bet you didn’t know that they are in the forefront of desalinization.

India’s Modi Goes to Jerusalem: A Rundown of India’s Hefty Arms Deals With Israel

One of the deals includes a missiles sale worth $500 million, which, if signed, would make 2017 a record year in terms of Israeli weapons sales to India. This deal includes one thousand SPICE air launched ordinance.

Another deal includes the purchase of 8,000 Spike anti-tank missiles, worth about $500 million, from Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. The sale has been delayed for about two years, but in the past few weeks it was brought to the Indian approval. If the deal is finalized, 2017 will be a record year in terms of Israeli weapons sales to India, a major client of Israeli defense industries.

Last year, the Indian government signed two large deals with the Israel Aerospace Industries, a government-owned company that develops and sells defense and weapons
systems. IAI reported the signing of the deals in the past few months:
One worth almost $2 billion includes the land-based version of the Barak 8 air defense system, as well as the naval version to be installed on the Indian navy’s aircraft carrier.

The second deal, worth $630 million, was signed with the Indian state-owned company Bharat Electronic Limited for the installation of the Barak 8 systems on four navy ships. This aerial defense system was developed as a joint project between India and
Israel, and the sales are a continuation of the policy of cooperation between the countries.

It’s not an occupation. It is adult supervision.

    • Art Garcia

But Sinbad2 stated that Israel does not have domestic technology. He stated it is stolen from the US. Yea Sinbad2, sure.

  • Smaug

India buys a number of high tech weapons from Israel, they also buy stuff from Russia and the US because they don’t want to be dependent on any one buyer. Although, I do recall that the fighter jet they’re trying to build (they have a working model), uses a radar set from Israel.

    • Zionism = EVIL

Indians are also using Zionist brutality in Kashmir like raping kids and blinding them with pellet guns.

      • Art Garcia

And arab terrorist brutality kill innocent people in Europe by their cowardice.

        • H Eccles

and what does that have to do with Kashmiris??

Your ignorance has no limits.. which no doubt you’re really proud of.

  • Dick Von Dast’Ard

Any more information surrounding the downing of the IAF MiG-21?
What type of mission profile was it conducting, which airbase was it based from?

  • d’Artagnan

India looks pretty weak and silly, making so much fuss about a surgical strike and then getting hammered by Pakistan in return. Hopefully, now cooler heads will prevail.

At supposed Indian air raid site, no casualties and a mysterious madrassa

Indian bombing inside Pakistani territory appears to have struck a mostly uninhabited forest and a farmer’s wheat field.

Four bombs hit a forest and a field in a remote area outside of the northern Pakistani town of Jaba, about 100km north of capital Islamabad, New York Times and other foreign journalists found on a visit to the site on Wednesday.

Splintered pine trees and rocks were strewn across the blast craters, and there was no evidence of any infrastructure debris or casualties. Metal shrapnel from the bombs was visible at four distinct craters and splinters from Israeli made SPICE ordinance which the Pakistani military immediately put on display.

    • Art Garcia

India is much stronger and more powerful than Pakistan. There Muslim religion keeps Pakistan from advancing. Perhaps India should use non-lethal weapons by dropping Pork Loins to these Allah Arab terrorists.

    • rsg

Nope. Pakistan will never own up to supporting terrorists. The location was 60 KM north of where Bin Laden was holed up in 2011. The Pakistanis were showing journalists where the jettisoned drop tanks of aircraft fell and not the actual location. The Mansehra area of Pakistan is where JeM, LeT, AQ, Taliban and assorted Sunni Muslim terrorists have been training since the early 1990s. The US could never attack there because the Pakistani military are embedded with the terrorists. The US ultimately needs access through Pak to Afghanistan. India had no choice but to hit the area.

  • Smart, Precise Impact, Cost-Effective ?

Well, according to the latest report, the Indians pretty much hit nothing but some woods.

    • Sinbad2

Exactly, corruption is rampant in India, and Israel is an expert at corrupting.

      • Art Garcia

What is your reference in stating that Israel is an expert at corrupting?

  • Vitex

Wonder if they’re anything like as good as the Spike missile. Seems with weapons contracts it doesn’t matter how bad it is as long as you sell a lot of it

    • Art Garcia

Spike carries a hefty price tag. Want something cheap try the Chinese.
