Russian Aerospace Force (VKS) conducted airstrikes on militant posts north of Idlib. At least four air strikes were carried out.
On August 9, Russian warplanes targeted the fortifications of the Turkish-backed armed factions in the area of al-Sheikh Baher in the northern countryside of Idlib.
At the same time, the Syrian Arabic Army (SAA) artillery shelled militant positions in southern Idlib countryside. Military posts in the towns of Ain La Rus, Binin, and Kansafra in Zawiya Mountain were reportedly targeted.
SAA artillery shelling was also reported in the towns of Kfar Ta’al, Kfar Amah in the western countryside of Aleppo.
The Russian Federation is the main ally of the Syrian government.
The close cooperation between Russian and Syrian soldiers was once again demonstrated by the recent joint trainings near the frontlines around the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib
