Last night, a S-200 missile landed in Northern Cyprus, exploding in the air above a series of villages. Debris from the object came down on a mountainside north of the city of North Nicosia.

The missile was launched by the Syrian Air Defense Forces at Israeli warplanes in response to the recent series of strikes on Syria’s Damascus and Homs areas.

All Israeli air-fighters hit their targets in a precision strike and all returned safe to their homeland.

    • FlorianGeyer

Indeed and a one year old Syrian child was killed by the Israeli’s during these illegal attacks.

Another childs effigy to be be painted on the Zionist pilots aircraft ‘Hit List’.

      • Tommy Jensen

Looking down on all the technical comments, I were just about to ask the same.
What about the victims? What about them?

        • occupybacon

Putin doesn’t activate s-300 for such useless things

        • FlorianGeyer

Can you imagine the hysteria in the Western press if an Israeli baby and civilians had been killed by the SAA in Israel ?

Yet, Israel murders non jewish children with impunity and the Western press ignores this fact.

          • Rob

You know the eyes of most of these world leaders are in the Israeli asses. So what Israel see then these idiots see.

    • FreePalestine_BDS

The swamp rats have never hesitated to attack the defenceless. But then again, a Syrian baby is a potential, or should I say “certain”, future terrorists, so your beloved swamp rats have their usual exoneration.

    • AJ

Several missiles were intercepted so how can they all have hit their target!!

      • Tommy Jensen

        Calculated.

  • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

Cyprus cant be too happy with israel now hahahahha

    • HardHawk

The missile hit the occupied area from the turks, so Cyprus why to be upset?

  • LET’S OPEN MULTIPLE FRONTS WIT

If Turkey is illegaly occupying the north of Syria, then why not for President Bashar Al Assad to strike their (also illegal) military bases in north Cyprus? It’s time to open multiple fronts with Turkey so that the turkish crazy dog can resign!

    • Mustafa Mehmet

What’s gonna change if dog resign ? The way you put it nothing. ASSAD will. Will pay very heavy price. thing before you open dirty filfy mouth idiot

    • Brother Ma

Brilliant plan. Cyprus government can plead Plausible deniability and Syria reacts asymmerically against Turkey. The Us,Nato ,Zionist Entity and Russia can turn a blind-eye and the Greeks/Cypriots strike a blow to the Turk who occupies their land.

  • Jose

    It looks like S300

    • Rhodium 10

      put your glasses

    • occupybacon

      Same junk

  • Rob

What Netanyahu is doing with Putin? I think Netanyahu controls Putin and his ministers.

  • Brian Michael Bo Pedersen

Latakia to Nikosia is a distance of 230km!
    Thats a pretty long trajectory

    • Pavel Pavlovich

S-200 was made for this. Also, the system is very old.

    • Brother Ma

I agree. Something very suspicious about this. Witnesses say they heard THREE explosions yet we find only one so-called sm200. I reckon it is a false flag .The Yanks ,Greeks/Cypriots ,Russians ,Israelis ,Syrians or some such are sending a message to erDOGAn to pull his head in.

      • jm74

S200 max range is 300km; Damascus to Cyprus 317km. Doubt it is a S200.

        • HardHawk

Where the missile hit as the grow flies is around 220-230km so you are wrong in your numbers.

          • jm74

No I am not. Maybe you should check before commenting.
            https://www.distance.to/Cyprus/Damascus

          • Saso Mange

Point is that 200km is max effective range and it is not the same as maximum range, in theory. This shows that it can fly further.

          • HardHawk

you make two assumptions one that the missile been fired from the Damascus area which is wrong and second that actually was a missile from an S200 battery, but the reports from Cyprus and based on photos released was more than likely a scud missile and not an anti aircraft one. Based on military reports from Cyprus free side.

Also and if I can get hold of it will give it to you is a radar reading showing the missile flying out of Latakia, so think again.

  • Dick Von Dast’Ard

Hmmm, Syrian and Turkish forces having skirmishes in Syria and Israel launching raids…

Then all of a sudden a Syrian air-defense missile fragments lands in Turkish controlled Cyprus.

I think it has been pointed before that many of these Russian manufactured missiles have been operated by many nations, (particularly former Soviet ones like Ukraine) just like AK-47’s.

  • The Arioch

Those are different things in different places. Photos #1 and #2 is one thing, and #3 and #4 are another, unrelated thing

    “S-200D “Dubna” (SA-5c), with the 5V25V, V-880M/5V28M or V-880MN/5V28MN² missile, introduced in 1976, high-explosive or nuclear warhead, range 400 km (250 mi), ceiling 0,3-40 km (25 mi).”

Looks nothing like the missile stabilizer fins and parts depicted in the photos.

      • RichardD

Look at the pictures that I posted above.

        • Dick Von Dast’Ard

I’ve looked and they are completely inconclusive. (to my eye)

The pictures taken in the darkness certainly don’t look like fragmented parts of an S-200.

          • RichardD

There are differences. I agree that it’s inconclusive. But models change over time. And what’s on the ground may be a variant from a different production run. Or it may be something different.

  • RichardD

The S-200 has two sets of fins. Both the bottom and top ones are very similar to the wreckage.

Why are they using ancient S200s when they already have the operational S300s the older system is virtually useless against modern jets

    • wwinsti

Just turn on all s300 systems a of yesterday.

    • Ceasar Polar

S200 have missiles that go to Mach 6 faster than any existing fighter jet. Old but still doing the job.

    • Sinbad2

The S200’s are standalone systems, the S300’s are integrated systems.
So with the S300 you have a responsible person in charge who decides when and if to fire.
With the S200 you have a few hillbillies who get carried away and fire when they shouldn’t.
It’s not unusual in war, an American hillbilly shot down an Iranian passenger plane and killed all on board back in 1988.

    • occupybacon

It’s the same junk just re-branded

      • Sinbad2

You’re thinking of American missiles that were all designed by the Nazi slaves the US took at the end of WWII. Because Americans are brainless, they just keep repainting the old missiles sticking an IC inside and new paint.

Russians and Chinese have people called rocket scientists, and they keep designing new stuff.

Just look at the vast array of Russian missiles compared to the handful of American missiles. It’s like American cars, once you could choose from many brands, today it’s a Ford or GM. The lack of intelligence/education ensures American defeat, in the end a Trump like creature will sell America for some shiny beads, or the latest iPhone, with built in suppository.

Maybe the two photos are from two separate countries?

      • RichardD

What I thought were possibly aircraft wings. On closer examination look more like the front fins on an S-200.

Geçitkale Air Base or Lefkoniko Airport[3] (IATA: GEC, ICAO: LCGK) is a military airfield of the Turkish Air Force near Lefkoniko (Turkish: Geçitkale) in Northern Cyprus. Construction was completed around 1990. During the renovation of the Ercan International Airport between September 2002 and May 2004, it served as Northern Cyprus’ primary civilian airport.[4] Geçitkale’s unofficial ICAO code is LCGK.[5]

In the summer of 1998, amid rising tensions between Greece and Turkey, Turkey briefly stationed six F-16s at Geçitkale, in response to the former’s positioning of four F-16s and two Lockheed C-130 Hercules at Paphos.[6] Combat aircraft last visited the airport in November 2000.[7] Gecit Kale Airbase was bought by Turkish Cypriot Businessman Asil Nadir and will be transformed into a new airport for VIP and Charter Aircraft.

any antisemite who says another nose joke or derogatory racist insult WILL be added to the twitter list “Nazi Filth”. My twitter friend @joshgladwin is more than happy to add you antisemites if needed! you’ve been warned ya antisemitic chumps :-]

    • RichardD

75% of Jews are AshkeNAZI Europeans with no significant middle eastern, let alone Hebrew Jew DNA. And all that you have to do is look at how these non Semite AshkeNAZIs treat Palestinian and their neighbor’s Semites to know who the biggest anti Semites on the planet are.

So get to work adding 10 million Jews to your list of Nazi Filth anti Semites.

  • ColinNZ

S200 range is limited, couldn’t reach Cyprus from most of Syria … must have been fired from Tartus-Latakia coast … maybe the event will be clarified soon.

    • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

there is a report on halturnerradioshow.com that israeli F-35 or F-16 was shot down, then later they say it was an S-200

  • Romeo Pesiao

That’s the repercussion of indiscriminate firing…
