On February 9, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) uncovered a large fortified headquarters of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies in the vicinity of the city of Saraqib in southeast Idlib.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) shared several photos of the headquarters, that was apparently dug in the side of a hilltop.

The headquarters contains several rest and recuperation areas, a medical point, an ammo depot and what appears to be a command room.

The SAA liberated Saraqib city earlier this week after a fierce battle with HTS and its allies. Earlier today, the Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) released a video documenting the battle.

The army and its allies are now advancing along the M5 highway. The strategic highway, which passes through Saraqib city, links the capital, Damascus, with the city of Aleppo.
