On April 26, Houthi fighters repelled a large-scale attack by the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies on their positions around the Khalid military camp in the Mawza district of the southwestern Yemeni province of Taiz, according to the Houthis media wing.
The Houthis killed several fighters of the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies and destrooyed more than five armored vehicles during the clashes. The vehicles were destroyed with rocket-propelled grenades and artillery rounds.
The Saudi-led coalition stepped up its military operations in Taiz province during the last week. The goal of the effort is to secure the supply line of its troops deployed near the western Yemeni coast.
On April 25, the Saudi-led coalition advanced in in the district of Dimnat Khadir killing fifteen Houthi fighters. However, the Houthis are still defending their positions in Mawza district effectively.
If the Houthis repel the attack in Mawza, they will be able to reinforce their remaining positions in in the district of Dimnat Khadir and possibly to repel the Saudi-led attack there.
