Houthis Launch Salvo Of Ballistic Missiles At Saudi Capital

Houthis Launch Salvo Of Ballistic Missiles At Saudi Capital

Illustrative image

On June 24, the Yemeni Missiles Force [loyal to the Houthis] announced that it had launched a salvo of Burkan-2H ballistic missiles at the information center of the Defense Ministry of Saudi Arabia and other military positions in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

The Burkan-2H is a is a mobile short-range ballistic missile with a range of over 800km. According to experts, the missile is a member of the Soviet Scud family, and shares design features with the Iranian Qiam-1 missile. The Houthis unveiled the Burkan-2H for the first time on July 22 of 2017 when it was launched at Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV reported that the Royal Saudi Air Defense Force (RSAF) intercepted a ballistic missile with its Patriot surface-to-air missile systems over Riyadh. Saudi activities released videos confirming the interception of at least one missile.

This missile strike is likely a response to the recent attacks of the Saudi-led coalition and its Yemeni proxies on the city of al-Hudaydah in western Yemen. Since the beginning of June, the coalition launched two attacks and failed to capture the city.

Usually, the Saudi-led coalition responds to such missile strikes by carrying out a series of airstrikes on the northern Yemeni province of Saada, the heartland of the Houthis.

hahhaha very nice :))) hope they caused max destruction and death

    • PZIVJ

      A salvo is good.
Did you see the video of the boomerang patriot a while back? LOL

      • potcracker2588

in the full video u r mentioning the saudis fired of 3 patriots……first one exploded seconds after launch, and the 3rd patriot, just as u wrote came back just as a boomerang LOL….

        • jako

That’s because Patriots are not ”fire and forget” missiles but “fire and run away” missile

      • killarythecunt

that was not reported by any MSM outlet, you have to dig for it but its there, patriot missiles misfired, one exploded prematurely, the other looped towards the ground. Its a garbage system, i dont know what the russians are worried out, let them station patriots on their border, and dont complain in case they develop a REAL SAM like the s400, which the turks and indians prefer to a piece of shit like the patriot.

    • Starlight

DRIBBLER, they did NOTHING, as usual. Meanwhile the Russian backed Saudi coalition continues to ravage its former slave state, kill hundreds of thousands, and ruin the lives of millions. But then you know that, don’t you, as you SHILL on a site that always forgets to mention Putin voted at the UNSC to BAN all weapon sales to the Houthis, while massively increasing Russian military weapon sales to Saudi Arabia and the other wahhabi states.

This is how the Deep State works. Sells a FALSE narrative of ‘x’ vs ‘y’ (the domestic two party system, or the international idea of empire powers that ‘hate’ one another). It assumes YOU will be too thick to watch how the leaders of the empire powers actually vote at the international forums.

Putin has voted to support every neo-con war. Recall how Russia REFUSED to help ‘ally’ Serbia during Blair’s Kosovo War. Or how Putin boasts that Russia ‘knows’ that 911 ‘truthers’ are “nutters”, and how the official narrative for that false flag is “true” (don’t believe me- go Google).

The sickos who cheer war, when the war can only go badly for the innocent (as in Yemen) are the literal dregs of Humanity. Yemen is so very screwed, having not one Empire Power that supports it to the tiniest degree, that peace at ANY COST is the best outcome for the people there. It should not be like this. There should be some powerful people on this planet with a moral outlook- but today there are NONE. Putin is nothing but a ‘jew rising’ star.

The wicked know the dead have no voice- a fact too many of you here are far too thick to understand. So so long as YOU are posting from a (currently) safe and secure location, you’ll glorify no end of suffering for some other group of people you have not the slightest personal connection with- neatly saving you from all true understanding of their suffering.

Cities with populations that have no memory of war are being put to the sword, one-by-one, in Yemen as you dribble your ‘excitement’ of yet more useless launches of glorified fireworks. Those cities want saviours, but will receive only death and destruction.

      • Sinbad2

Wow Israel is getting soo desperate, good to see, sweat you fkrs

      • PZIVJ

Did you mean to say that the Saudi coalition is western backed?
But I can agree with some of your post

      • DaBoiiiii

The Yemeni civillians are like the south Lebanese civillians. Many would gladly die in support of the men fighting for their land.

Would we want peace? Of course. But how do you get peace when these scum like Israel and Saudi are fighting you? Do you give up and surrender for the sake of peace, disregarding your dignity, sovereignty and pride as a nation? No. Let the invader fuck off, and we will have peace. Civillians dying and suffering is the fault of the invadee. And we will cheer on any attempt to inflict harm on said invader.

You are the same as the people you talk about. A fool who knows nothing and thinks he knows what the Yemenis want better than themselves. Peace at any cost is always the worst possible outcome.

      • Bob

‘Putin has voted to support every neo-con war. Recall how Russia REFUSED to help ‘ally’ Serbia during Blair’s Kosovo War.’

Nice try, at a disinformation sleight of hand – but Putin was first elected to President of the Russian Federation in May of 2000 – whereas the NATO direct war on the rump Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) occurred in 1999 – during the final year of Yeltsin’s leadership tenure in Russia. Yeltsin represented Washington’s preferred and compliant Russian leadership model.

        • Concrete Mike

Lol get rekt starlight, your arts degree means shit now LOL

      • So the Yemenis should just surrender and line up for orderly extermination?

  • Ryder

2 of them are said to have hit their intended targets inside riyad

  • S Melanson

Confirmation that at least six missiles hit their targets in Saudi capital. Tweets coming out of hearing huge explosions and fires and heavy smoke from multiple places – Saudi military admits defences failed.

    • FlorianGeyer

As the saying goes, ‘ What goes around comes around ‘.

The Saudi’s need to feel pain for a change.

  • Sinbad2

The Saudi gas plant at Juaimah is about the same distance, and would have a greater impact on the enemy than killing a few civilians.

    • S Melanson

They aimed at the Saudi Royal palace and defence ministry buildings

      • PZIVJ

Unfortunately these missiles are not very accurate at long distance.
But hope to see a big hole in the Royal palace one of these days. :)

        • Hisham Saber

Believe me, the next, new generation of ballistic missiles the Houthi Yemeni military are constructing, as we speak, are going to be very fast, numerous and very accurate. Hezbollah and the Iranian IRGC are working with the Houthis and Yemeni army.

      • Sinbad2

But even if they hit the palace, it’s purely symbolic.
Take out their revenue stream, and you stop their ability to wage war.

  • Wise Gandalf

They waste energi, expensive equipment for nothing. Better use those missile to knock out ships, which are involved in blockade of Yemen.

    • PZIVJ

Ballistic missiles against moving ships ???
      Gandalf not so wise today.
I will save this screenshot to remind you later.
Will have to make a special folder for this one, what shall I call it? :D

      • Wise Gandalf

under chinise articles you onanize about chineze anti ship ballistic missiles.

so, little jihadist, it is upon you, how will you use these missiles. but probaly you are too stupid to understand this fact.

        • PZIVJ

Yes there are ASBM’s (a quasi ballistic missile with guidance)
But I doubt N Yemen has any, I wish they did to send the blockading ships to hell, so the people can get food and medicine. :)

          • Wise Gandalf

Look, also the Grad rocket is ballistic missile. This is about ballistic orbit. But first, each has minimal nallistic range, and i am sure, there are lot of them in yemen, which has laess than 100 km. Also this can have only 150 km. From this distance it no problem to hit shps. from larger distance that ones, which are nearby/in ports, with shorter range the crusing ships. they have constant, slow velocity with predictable path for those minutes, while is income.
second, for very short distance (3-5-8-10 km all of them you can fire directly, not via ballistic bow path. I saw such exercise with old Scud.

          • PZIVJ

I was not aware that Scud could fire at low angle, perhaps 20 degrees
Wise Gandalf taught me something today.
But still the Houthi missiles are not that accurate, should target the Saudi oil stations instead. :)

          • Wise Gandalf

Of course can. You can use also not official launcher. And houthis do this. Daily.

        • Sinbad2

So how would they know where the ship was Einstein, they don’t have xray vision like you?

    • S Melanson

Would agree but they need to conserve anti-ship missiles to repel coalition attempts at future amphibious assaults. Also, the ballistic missile is based on SCUD design and not suitable as an anti ship weapon. Targets on ground that are fixed such as buildings do not move so SCUD has chance of hitting.

    • Lena Jones

“Better use those missiles” on tel aviv, I say. The jews being the source of ALL mideast wars and the saudis being crypto jews with a talmudic bent for violence and all, I say strike at the very heart of the jew warmongers in occupied Palestine. You’ll see how the house of saud crumbles soon after the house of zion is destroyed.

    • Ballistic missiles and anti-ship missiles are not the same.

  • Smaug

Reuters reported of witness that said they heard and saw the booms this morning.
I would venture to say that the Houthis think that hit Riyadh will make the war in Yemen unpopular. If so, they’re wrong because it should be noted that the recent major offensive started soon after the major news that rockets hit Riyadh. Reality is that bring the war to the Saudis give them incentive to end the war quickly.

    • killarythecunt

The reality is that Saudi arabia is a theocratic dictatorship backed by the US empire, which is guilty of many war crimes that will never be prosecuted, because they keep american cars running and buy lots of expensive death toys with the dead dino-juice they sell to yankystan. Keep celebrating and ignoring the fact that the saud backed government in yemen has faced several popular uprisings, including the 2011 “arab spring” which the empire supported as long as the outcome favoured them. In other words its good to rise up against assad, but bad to rise up against the oppressive yemeni government that is universally hated (even by al quaeda).

The Saud vermin monarchy whose anus you clean with your tongue, has expensive toys, but they cant win a war with a nepotistic untrained officer corps, who have to ask permission from a prince for every military decision, and command conscripts who fight for bread and water, not for any cause. They have no moral, no motivation except the threats of their monarchs, (did i mention that uk/us bombs have killed tens of thousands?)

There is no victory for the saud animals, even if they take the port, Yemen is very rugged and can support and endless guerilla war against any static saudi positions, and their low morale savage medieval army. The kingdom of Wahhabi 9/11 exporters of terrorism will fall over this war, thats the reality not the garbage you are fed in hermetic ignorant country. Do Reuters report when saudi patriot rockets missfire and boomerang towards the royal wahhabi army? Any why wish for an end, all you care about is profits from the bombs you sell to the criminal saudi kingdom, and its cowboy pilots who cant aim a laser guided bomb?

      • Sinbad2

        Hear hear.

      • Exactly right, KTC!

    • DaBoiiiii

That’s tetr, to an extent. Initial losses/retaliation are often met with increased offence, but if that increase in offence does not achieve the intended results, those retaliatory attacks become a burden. Think America in its occupation of Iraq. It had a huge surge in manpower after the insurgency, but then when that failed to achieve its goals they got bogged down and bailed. Saudi Arabia retaliating hard. But if this heavy offence lasts for too long, and the missiles against them don’t stop, eventually they will get bogged down.

      • Like Germans in 1945 and US Southerners in 1865. They were tired of war and just wanted it over! The Houthis, of course have no such option since losing the war means genocide.

    • Promitheas Apollonious

You dont have the capacity to understand, what houthis think, or aim at.

    • So you support the Saudi war of extermination against Yemen’s people.

      • Smaug

One mass of thieves versus another…

        • Easy enough to label any group of people with a pejorative moniker. I expect better from you, dear Smaug.

  • Tom Tom

Just need one mini-nuke gone for a ride.

  • R PLobo

The Houthis know full well that their missiles are purely symbolic against Riyadh. But in this case symbolism is all that matters. It demonstrates that the trillionaire sand muppet anglo/zionist whores of the al saud criminal gang cannot even win a war against a poor but determined resistance. The Houthis are today at where Hezbollah was in the early 80’s – no matter how much money and how many mercs are thrown at them they resist. If only the slaves of the west had just a small fraction of the will of the Houthis the bankser pimps would have been hung from lamposts long ago.

    • Well said, Dr Z!

    • Sinbad2

But according to Reuters, the Saudis shot the missiles down.
The truth doesn’t matter in the west, the propaganda outlets create their own reality.
However a burning oil plant is harder to lie about.

  • The symbolism of attacking Mordor’s capital is pleasant, but striking their oil facilities might be a more effective tactic.

  • chris chuba

Just being objective, it looks like the Patriot missile is good enough to stop the Burkan-2H which is a modified Scud which is admittedly and old style ballistic missile but looking at the specs of a Scud C it reaches a speed of Mach 5. Therefore, speed is not enough to penetrate air defenses.

Does the Patriot use active homing or does it calculate interception because on prediction of the ballistic trajectory? The Iranians might have to go back to the drawing board.

    • Toni Liu

Its old standard ballistic missile that didnt had any evade feature, most new missile now had that feature with speed, even patriot still miss against old scud look saudi patriot fail, even successful hit still leaving big chunk remains falling from the sky
