The Houthis have repelled a new large-scale attack of the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies on their positions in the district of Nihm in the central Yemeni province of Sanaa.
A video released by the Yemeni rebel group’s media wing on April 3 shows Houthi fighters destroying a main battle tank and two armored vehicles of the coalition with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) during the clashes. The bodies of several Saudi-backed fighters can be also seen in the video.
The Saudi-led coalition launched several similar attacks on the Houthis’ positions in Nihm over the last few months in order to reach the Yemen capital of Sanaa. However, all of these attacks failed catastrophically.
The Houthis success in holding onto most of their positions in Nihm for more than five years now is a major military achievement, especially considering the limited resources of the Yemeni group.
