The Houthis launched a fresh attack in the district of Sirwah in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib on March 14. In the course of the attack, the Yemeni group captured several positions from the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies.

The media wing of the Houthis released a 6-minute video of the attack showing Houthi fighters destroying many vehicles of the coalition with Konkurs and Metis anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs). Bodies of several Saudi-backed fighters, who were killed in the clashes, can be seen in the video.

After the end of the clashes, the Houthis captured dozens of assault rifles and other light weapons which had been left behind by Saudi-led coalition personnel.

This attack came amid continued attempts by the Saudi-led coalition to advance in central Yemen. The coalition is trying to reach the Yemeni capital of Sanaa near Ma’rib. However, the situation on the ground suggests that this will not happen any time soon.

  • Joaquin

Man… I know most of them are mercenaries and that there’s a lot of $$$ to keep bringing them in but I can’t belive the amount of casualties they are sustaining and yet the fronts remain the same

    • Tom Tom

always more where they came from.

      • Joaquin

        not anymore from Sudan tho!

In these sort of clips we see a lot of Saudi coalition losses. I have never seen a single clip where a houthi is dead. I am sure Houthis losses are also high.

        you assume wrong.

Houthis fighters dont really care..as they are defending their homeland.

Ask the taliban if they care about casualties?
We had a guy working with us on some jail project i did years ago, he was a machine gunner in the canadian forces. He told us taliban would attack daily in kandahar, same place same time. He would mow them down everyday. As the guy is telling us this, you can see he paused and thought about it…he asked himself why…

Casualtie matter more when your an invader.

Mike houthis are not taliban and they dont throw themselves in front of a hail of lead. They very competent warriors on their terrain and they facing not soldiers but civilians who been send in numbers against them. We may call them mercenaries but this mercenaries are, want to be not warriors but civilians in reality, there for the money. They are shooting ducks, for the houthis.

You are correct sir, Houthis are pro fighters.

I never mentionned the yemeni civilian losses, i was thinking of them while writing the initial post.

Houthis and Taliban are defending their home, does that not make one fight better? Its a crude question i know, dont answer if you dont wish, i respect that.

I must admit, crappy taliban leaders doing same thing everyday. Expensive way to send a message.

Taliban are not defending their homeland. It is a US sponsored ideologically driven movement going back to the 80s, product of the Soviet stint in Afghanistan, i.e. the US-aided and abetted mujahedeen effort to oust Soviet troops. The Taliban were the al-qaida and ISIS of the 80s. This is as a far as i know. The Taliban do not represent the people of Afghanistan
