On August 22, the Houthis launched two Qasef-2K suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at King Khalid Air Base near the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait.

According to the al-Masirah TV, Yemeni group’s UAVs targeted a military communication center and the airbase’s main fuel station.

A spokesman for the Houthis claimed that the attack was successful saying that it was a response to Saudi airstrikes on the areas held by the Yemeni group.

“The UAV’s operations came as a response to the crimes of the aggressor, its siege and its airstrikes, which reached 40 airstrikes in the last 48hours resulting in martyrs and wounded,” Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari.

The Saudi-led coalition claimed that it was able to intercept one of the UAVs. However, it didn’t present any evidence to back its claims.

This was the second attack on Saudi bases in the Kingdom’s southern region in the last few hours. Earlier, the Houthis launched a “medium range ballistic missiles” at an operations room in the province of Jizan.

Iran displays domestically built mobile missile defense system

State television showed President Hassan Rouhani attending an unveiling ceremony for the mobile Bavar-373 system, which Iranian media have described as a competitor to the Russian S-300 missile system.

“With this long-range air defense system, we can detect … targets or planes at more than 300 km (190 miles), lock it at about 250 km, and destroy it at 200 km,” Defence Minister Amir Hatami told state television.

The system’s unveiling came on Iran’s National Defence Industry Day. Iran has developed a large domestic arms industry in the face of international sanctions and embargoes that have barred it from importing many weapons.

I think the muppets of the US military would call the US armed and advised Saudi forces a ‘ Target Rich Environment’.

Bravo Houthis.
