House Intel Democrats Releases Trump Impeachment Report

Originally appeared at ZeroHedge

After months of public and private testimony, the House Intelligence Committee chaired by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has released their impeachment report accusing President Trump of misconduct by withholding military aid to Ukraine unless various demands were met.

Trump is also accused of obstructing the impeachment inquiry by instructing witnesses and agencies to ignore subpoenas for documents and testimony, as well as intimidating and tampering with witnesses.

“No other President has flouted the Constitution and power of Congress to conduct oversight to this extent,” reads the report. “If left unanswered, President Trump’s ongoing effort to thwart Congress’ impeachment power risks doing grave harm to the institution of Congress, the balance of power between our branches of government, and the Constitutional order that the President and every Member of Congress have sworn to protect and defend.”

“The decision to move forward with an impeachment inquiry is not one we took lightly.  Under the best of circumstances, impeachment is a wrenching process for the nation.  I resisted calls to undertake an impeachment investigation for many months on that basis, notwithstanding the existence of presidential misconduct that I believed to be deeply unethical and damaging to our democracy.  The alarming events and actions detailed in this report, however, left us with no choice but to proceed.”

On Tuesday night, the committee will meet in a 6 p.m. ET closed-door session to formally adopt the report. Members of the committee began reviewing the majority report Monday evening.

The report comes one day after Republicans on the House Intel committee released their own “prebuttal” claiming Trump committed “no quid pro quo, bribery, extortion, or abuse of power. The Democrats’ report will be combined with the ‘prebuttal’ and sent to the House Judiciary Committee, which will draft articles of impeachment following their own inquiry.

Prebuttal bullet points (Via Axios):

  • They claim there is “nothing inherently wrong” with the Trump administration’s actions toward Ukraine and justify each of them in detail, including Rudy Giuliani’s direct involvement in U.S. diplomacy.
  • They say any references to a quid pro quo are conjecture and hearsay — including EU Ambassador and Trump donor Gordon Sondland’s testimony.
  • They question the origins of the impeachment inquiry and Democrats’ motives, and they allege that Democrats have wanted to undo the 2016 election since Trump won.
  • They mock Democrats for calling the impeachment inquiry a serious process, and they characterize the speedy nature of the inquiry as proof that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is motivated by politics rather than substance.
  • They use Trump’s well-known skepticism about U.S. spending on foreign aid as justification for his hesitation to give money to Ukraine.
  • They say there was “nothing wrong” with asking questions about Hunter Biden’s role on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian company, or renewing unfounded allegations about who interfered in the 2016 elections.

Boycott & Isolate America saves a lot of troubles…

    • northerntruthseeker .

Actually, this is the modern version of a full blown coup attempt by the Communist aka “Democrats” to have the President thrown out and have America turned into a Communist regime!

      • Hasbara Hunter

I still cannot understand why Americans are so stupid to take all that shit…They seem to be Very Very scared of Something & very Divided….and then you have 80 million Zio-Christians…weird shit…Literally the Divided States of Murica….

        • S Melanson

I would say that the decades of dumbing down Americans has created a nation of gross ignorance. In the past, the MSM controlled the narrative which in turn manufactured public opinion made easy by public ignorance.

I grew up in the US in the seventies and the education system is skewed heavily to a US centric worldview and let me just say that when I returned to Canada, it was then I learned about the outside world.

Today, we have two tribes facing off to each other and I do not mean US and Russia. It is the developing civil war in the US with two competing visions for the coming NWO – uni versus multipolar. Multipolar has the clear upper hand but we can all still lose in the nuclear age.

The split in the MSM and rise of Trump has brought out into the open an internal civil war that divides the nation on multiple levels, including the very institutions and agencies within the US – the CIA is deeply divided regarding the rank and file as many do not support the politicalization of agencies and for good reasons.

The civil war is intensifying in a dangerous direction as elites mobilize the population polarizing into camps opposing each other – often referred to as Democrats versus Trumpers – I see it as Fox News versus CNN/MSNBC. Gathering the people behind populist leaders aided by ignorance is a two edged sword as an empowered citizenry are not so easy to control as elites think as was demonstrated in the French Revolution.

In 2014 I wrote an assessment of prospects for a French Revolution scenario repeating in the US and my concerns have only increased. In 2014 the civil war raged behind the scenes but now populist forces have been mobilized and the process of radicalizing is well under way.

The way things are heading, elites seriously risk loss of control and when that happens, the American Revolution begins.

          • Hasbara Hunter

Trump can be the Clown…Trump can be Real…Trump can be the best actor ever…Trump can be Fake…Trump can be the All American Hero….I must say Trump has made a lot of things very visible with his actions…whether accidentally or intentionally….That is definitely a good thing about Mister Trump….

America can use a Civil War II…whether Peaceful or Violent…as long as they are smart enough to recognize the True Enemy…

          • FlorianGeyer

I heard the word ‘antisemitic’ being used many times today on the BBC.

It appears that the BBC does not realise that few in the country care about that over used trope. :)

          • Hasbara Hunter

In what context did the BBC use the term “Antisemitic”?

          • FlorianGeyer

They were commenting on why Corbyn refused to be drawn into yet another self flagellation by Zionist lovers.

          • Hasbara Hunter

ZioNazi-Lovers are Non-Semitic AshkeZioNazis most of the time…

          • FlorianGeyer

            Indeed they are.

          • AM Hants

It would be ironic if Corbyn got in, owing to the media labelling him anti-semetic and those the Zionists have upset, end up voting for Jeremy.

Seriously have no interest whatsoever in the election, owing to detesting anything in Westminster, at the moment, whatever party. When they fumigate Westminster, I might take an interest in UK politics. Until then, I have more chance of seeing Pinky and Perky, on a Russian space shuttle.

          • S Melanson

They do if elites continue on their present course, indeed Revolution is what they will get.

The problem is the massive stockpiles of WMD dispersed geographically across the globe and keeping them secure. Estimates I have seen estimate 30 to 35% of the US military will revolt in the case of the civil war going hot.

This conservative estimate is way to high and we can expect opposing camps to each possess military assets that include nuclear biological and chemical. The chances of one side resorting to use Of WMD is in my opinion is very very high and the chance of keeping it a limited use is very very unlikely.

We all need to think about how such a scenario can be avoided because an American Revolution/civil war means everybody loses.

          • Hasbara Hunter

America can keep taking the Elites out one by one for Pedophilia because they are all Paedophiles…but that will take a long time…or they must have have put some electric wires on Epstein’s testicles to make him tell every little detail before they Killed him…so let’s hope it wasn’t the Mossad that finished him before the Birdie could sing…

The Snake in America is Powerful…for the Snake has built America…Jews & Knights Templar an Evil Cabal…the story goes that they arrived in America before Columbus

          • n a

Seriously? An American Civil War would not destroy the world. A nuclear war between Russia, China, and NATO on the other hand would destroy everything.

          • S Melanson

Yes it could destroy the world. Very easily. The US has military bases across the globe. These bases would be targets and many possess tactical nukes so would not be long before we have tactical nuclear strikes all across the globe and expect rapid escalation.

Further, other nuclear states could back one side against the other. There is another angle for escalation.

Let us suppose one side in the civil war only uses nukes. The other side will retaliate unless their counter strike ability is eliminated by the first strike. But, Other nations with nukes have to be factored in and evaluate their reaction…

Keep thinking it through and you will find plenty of ways the situation quickly escalates .

          • Hasbara Hunter

Hasn’t ISraHell hidden a couple of tactical Nukes in a couple of Major American Cities…?

          • S Melanson

I do wonder. Although Israel is a small and young nation, the Jewish people are storied, conflicted and ancient… and what will be their legacy in the end? Will they redeem themselves as ultra-orthodox Jews believe, or will they take everyone down with them when the end comes, leaving nothing but a sad and bitter legacy?

By the way, most ultra-orthodox Jews actually oppose Zionism as they believe the messiah comes to lead them to a new home but only after atonement by the Jewish race. To them, Zionism is a secular ideology that goes against scripture by using violence to establish a homeland and therefore Jews are de facto judging atonement fulfilled yet this is restricted only to God.

          • Hasbara Hunter

I know a couple of Jewish people…not every Jew is a ZioNazi…that’s for sure…That is why I can’t stand Americans screaming Jew…Jew…Jew…But not taking the slightest responsibility themselves…

          • n a

Lmfao, America isn’t the whole world dipshit. You’re comparing apples and oranges.

          • FlorianGeyer

Yes, its essentially a rivalry between different power groups ( warlord gangs). The same pattern of rivalry that has caused all of the conflicts throughout history.

Village against village, clan against clan, kings against kings that are often related, and groups of clans and kings who gang up of weaker victims.

Human nature never changes and the results are always bloody.

America needs to be cleansed by fire as such national insanity has no other cure.

          • S Melanson

You speak to the very heart of the matter – “the same pattern of rivalry that has caused all the conflicts throughout history”

Transition to any new world order has been typically very violent. The one occurring now is the first in the nuclear age. So how do we avoid a civilization ending global war? This question was certainly asked and plans were made to get us through this.

Is it working? We have got this far so impressive. But we are not there yet. Be vigilant.

          • FlorianGeyer

A problem that faces us all is the real danger of a accidental or intended , but rogue, launch of a US or US vassal nuclear missile towards Russia, China, Pakistan and India.

Perhaps civilisation as we know it today has become so uncivilised that a nuclear war is inevitable.

          • Hasbara Hunter

GOOD KING vs. EVIL KING…that sounds like a Hollywood-Scenario…a modern day version of a Shakespearean Drama…Like I said: ANOTHER AMERICAN SOAP-OPERA…But it can also be one big smokescreen…American Revolutionaries better make sure that they have enough Backing… because Albert Kike is talking about a MINORITY of Revolutionaries….

          • FlorianGeyer

This paints a rather grim outlook for us all and it promises to be akin to the European ‘100 years wars’ during another bloody period of national and religious insanities. All driven by the greed of the few.

          • Omega

I agree with your comment. I would however like to chime in on the French and American Revolutions part. Contrary to popular belief (promulgated by a distorted narration of history in the hands of the “victors”, namely the Brits), the “French” Revolution was anything but an indigenous French action. It was a British reactionary/terrorist coup to preserve British hegemony on the continent and beyond following their defeat in the American Revolution. Aside from the British economic policies (aka Free Trade) imposed upon France that literately destroyed the country and reduced its population to abysmal misery and poverty, British agents in France (the Duke Duke of Orléans, Dalton, Necker, et al.) orchestrated and facilitated the necessary events (e.g. Affair of the Diamond Necklace, etc) to make sure it led to what is erroneously known to date as the “French” Revolution. Upon his return from the USA, de Lafayette wanted to emulate the success of the American Revolution for the same purpose of getting rid of the British grip. Had he been successful, it would have been the end of the Anglo-Saxon British Empire. Lets remember the alliance between France and the USA; and France and others in Europe at the time (namely Prussia).

Should the ruling class in the USA loose control, a potential “French” Revolution would take place; not an American one. What the US and the rest of the world need is an American Revolution; one that gets rid of the Anglo-Saxon perpetual chaos/wars/usury system.

          • S Melanson

i have some questions on your take of these events and will follow up later when I have more time.

Thing is that Tramp had set a trap (please, excuse this calambour) and this soap opera will lead to unintended (by Clintonoids) results.
