On November 13, lots of photos appeared from Hezbolalh’s military parade at the town of al-Qusayr, located between  the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the Syrian-Lebanese border. Hezbollah took control of al-Qusayr in May 2013 as result of a military operation against Western-backed militans.

The rleased photos are the clear evidence of high number of heavy material in hands of Hezbollah, operating in Syria. Pro-Hezbollah media called that the “first ever mechanized division” of Hezbollah participated in the parade.

I wonder if those M-113’s were supplied by Iran.

    • Ernesto Castillo

No, probably the got them from Lebanese Army stocks, either during the Civil War years or on a later date.

Also, Druse militias also used them, so examples captured from them are another possible source.

This Syrian conflict is seeing a natural evolution / learning curve for a non state military organisation like Hezbollah. No doubt, it would be no match for a regional military power like Israel but after several more years or even months, its expertise would make many Arab countries even more wary. Its obvious this parade is an advertisement for a fairly secretive organisation.

true. it also might be an indicator that they’re indeed reached a certain unprecedented level, militarily. even if they don’t keep their mechanized brigade upon returning to Lebanon, the experience gained here will be invaluable.

I see your point but disagree. HA is bleeding in Syria right now. This parade seems to be a version of “Look how strong we are!” as they fall to the ground.
Having a military march is done to project power but almost always as an implied threat to adversaries during peacetime (Red Square marches come to mind) or in the immediate aftermath of a huge victory (Nazis and then Allies in Paris, 1940 and 1944, respectively).
Having a military parade in the middle of a war in a lightly populated area of a foreign nation (albeit in de facto annexed territory) is truly a case of the lady protesting too much. If they were truly winning the war, they would not have to have a show of force. A military makes itself known on the battlefield during wartime, not for the cameras.

Zionists are not very happy with Hezbollah strength.

        • Barry

You missed the point. Having a military parade in a small town on foreign soil is weird. Those soldiers should be fighting or occupying. Showing off is not what strong militaries do.

Hey Barry, why don’t you take your little buddy adzsiam and do what tel aviv boys do to each other to pass their time.

Are those in the first pic SA-6 Gainful mounts moddified with a 152 mm arty piece on top?

    • John Whitehot

it could be, although the Kub chassis was a standardized design able to accomodate several other types of installations.

i really like the sand buggies and morotcycles. also interestingly, Safir is missing.

Now Hezbollah have medium and long range Air defence system to shoot down Zionist Israel fighter jets. They have used different types of air surveillance RADARS during Syrian war and it is so good. I like Hezbollah army. They are good for the defence, peace and stability of the Middle East.

Live long Hezbollah army, SAA army, Palestinian Army in Syria and Russian army.

    • Superfly

Hezbollah is now better equipped than many NATO puppet militaries and has T-90 tanks as shown in the photos. Next conflict with Zionist criminals will be something to remember.

  • Superfly

Hezbollah is best of the best and source of great pride in the region.
