Unknown militants planted 4 IEDs and detonated them inside one of the Al-Bunian Al-Marsous Operations Room HQs in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa City on July 19.
The attack targeted the garage of the HQ and caused the destruction of a bulldozer and two BMP-1 vehicles and a tank. The Al-Bunian Al-Marsous Operations Room includes Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) with groups from the US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA).
According to opposition sources, the investigations of the incident are still ongoing, and officials of the Al-Bunian Al-Marsous Operations Room couldn’t determine who carried out the attack so far.
Abu Shaima, spokesman for the Al-Bunian Al-Marsous Operations Room told the opposition website Enab Baladi that: “What is being circulated about the details of the bombing is exaggerated”.
Some opposition activists held the Syrian Intelligence responsibility for the operation, while others accused ISIS. It’s worth mentioning that Al-Bunian Al-Marsous Operations Room had launched dozens of attacks on the SAA in Daraa City since the beginning of 2017, and it managed to capture most of Al-Manshiyya district in Daraa city. However, Daraa province is witnessing a complete calm now thanks to the Russian-American ceasefire agreement.
