On June 19, a unit of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)’ elite forces infiltrated defense lines of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern Lattakia countryside and raided an SAA position in the area of al-Fukharah, according the HTS-linked news network Iba’a.

Abd al-Aziz al-Mahmud, a commander of HTS’ elite forces, told Iba’a that HTS fighters killed more than seventeen soldiers and officers of the SAA during their attack in the northern Lattakia countryside. HTS fighters also destroyed a 23mm gun of the SAA.

A source in the SAA confirmed to SouthFront that HTS carried out a successful attack on a position of the SAA in al-Fukharah. According to the source, nine soldiers and officers of the SAA were killed in the attack.

The attack is a major violation of the Russian-Turkish-Iranian de-escalation agreement in the northern Lattakia countryside. The Russian Aerospace Forces will likely bomb the positions of HTS’ elite forces in northern Lattakia and Idlib in the upcoming hours in response to the attack.

LOL now thats what I call a de-escalation area….now russia will drop 10 bombs in an area of several thousand square kilometers and all is good.Yeah, great work, keep it up and maybe by christmas they´ll surprise in damascus.mind boggling…..I wonder how long the SAA will go along with those bs de escalation areas…would you if you are part of the SAA, knowing that on weekly bases jihadi pricks attack you, but you are not ALLOWED to respond. And nobody give me that bs about russia dropping 10 bombs in a several thousand square kilometers area for retaliation.Seriously, imagine one of you are in the SAA, and your friends and brothers get murdered on a weekly bases, and somebody tells you you cant attack those which are behind these attacks.
And the best part is yet to come.Russia is as usual going to ask turkey(iam laughing my ass off wriiting this), to talk with those jihadi groups to RESPECT the de-escalation area.LOL. Yeah and israel will respect palestinian life.

Russia is trying to play it’s stupid game of being everyone’s friend “I want to be friends with iran, iraq, syria, hezbollah and I also want to be friends with Israel turkey, saudi, qatar and EU”

It thinks that by doing this it’ll help. I feel like their plan of being everyone’s friend will back fire.

      • Manuel Flores Escobar

I think many things can change when world cup be finish…..

        • DaBoiiiii

We will see. I doubt it. Russia wants this. It wants to be the middle man for everyone. When there is an issue go to Russia, it is allied with everyone.

I believe this kind of thinking is wrong, i believe a country should have ideals, rather than just interests.

Nothing is set in stone but that looks like the way things are going.

  • Bill Wilson

Looks like they staged the photos after the attack. I doubt if a long range patrol would launch a sneak attack while carrying their entire kit.

    • Siegfried

      If they entered from TURKEY…
By that opportunistic and corrupt Erdogan, you never know…..

  • FlorianGeyer

This is why Boy Scout style camping in a war zone is never very clever. Digging in is hard work but it saves lives.

    • Aimo Huikka

You are absolutely right. My grandpa told, that they dug in during wwII every time, when there was a break. I can tell you that finnish forest isn’t the nicest place to dug holes. Couple of roots, rocks and othe disgusting things.

    • John Whitehot

yep, it’s much more clever in staging fake attacks by fake elite forces.

      • FlorianGeyer

Seems so. My father was in 1st Army in North Africa in WW2 . He was in the artillery manning 25 pounders. Although he always insisted on changing into pyjamas when he went to bed he did have a slit trench dug for him as protection with his camp bed at the bottom, even if a Two man Bivi Tent was erected over it :)

        • John Whitehot

          Thanks for sharing this.
in those times, in normal circumstances troops would start digging as long as they stopped marching. Either they marched, or they digged.

          • FlorianGeyer

Correct and it seems those lessons are being forgotten.
An entrenching tool is as valuable as a rifle.

          • John Whitehot

this remains a blatant fake though.

          • FlorianGeyer

It does look that way and if it was a re-run for the cameras as often happens , the resultant bodies would have been shown.

It could have been a hastily vacated camp I suppose.

          • John Whitehot

“he resultant bodies would have been shown.”
            my thought too.

other users already pointed out the inconsistencies.

I’ll add one – if such “raids” are conducted, they are done at night.

This happening in daylight highly complicates any possible explanation the jihadists could give, if asked about the episode – which of course it’s not going to happen.

I mean: “was it a preplanned mission?”
because if yes, then it’s a lie because it would had happened at night.

if it wasn’t and “our patrol stumbled on a SAA camp”, it’s easily debunked by the total lack of lookouts and security on SAA side (The presence of “several officers” would mean that such measures would be heavily enforced), especially since the jihadist patrol seems to advance following a clear route (someone should explain the raghead specops the significance of “linear danger areas”)

          • FlorianGeyer

Indeed and in recent decades the term ‘Officer ‘ has been debased to refer to secretaries (Clerical Officer’s) , Firemen, (Fire officer) , Rat catcher ( Environmental Officer) etc and even in the military Non Commissioned Officers are often described as Officers when there is a huge divide between a Commissioned Officer and an NCO.

Even the UK Police in the last few decades have blurred the term (police) Constable with the term Police Officer and ironically during that time the term ‘cuntstable’ would have been better suited to many of them :)

It seems everyone aspires to being an Officer.
I fully expect to see Council Pothole Officers repairing the holes in my road very soon. That will of course be after a Pothole Marking Officer has sprayed paint around said hole in the road , so that the Pothole Officers can better see it :)

Oh, lest I forget the Pothole Repair Safety Officer who will determine that a plethora of Traffic Safety Officers cone off the road for hundreds of yards and install temporary traffic lights.

“Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham Elite Forces Attack Syrian Army Position In Northern Lattakia”
Well… that was a stvpid decision from that AlQaeda-g@rbage=> that IS A RUSSIAN SENSITIVE ZONE, so the next what happens will be that a lot of SUKHOI warplanes,, Mi-28 and KA assault–helicopters will chase the CIA-shit in the forest there..
OK, Putin is asleep but not completely..

    • John Whitehot

      suspicions increase.

  • R PLobo

This is total BS – as if soldiers are just going to be sitting in their tents playing cards and smoking during the day or night for that matter and in the middle of the woods. And of course no patrols or look outs. Looks like a bad copy of a scene out of Missing in Action.

    • John Whitehot

definitely fake. perhaps sf should check their “sources inside the saa”.

  • Concrete Mike

What’s that at the end of the rifles? Silencer…compensator???

    • Joe Dirt

      silencer dip-shit :)

      • Concrete Mike

I would prefer 74 if im getting close.

Thanks for answering question señor douchebag.

Answer my other question if your masters allow it.

        • Joe Dirt

Trust me! You don’t want an 74 for CQB. Just google the ballistics for 545×39 vs 762×39.

545×39 is designed to injure you not create immediate death.

          • John Whitehot

            total bs.

          • Joe Dirt

Lol blocking you troll, you don’t deserve space on my screen lol

  • World_Eye

LOL HTS Elite forces hah these Jihadists are inside in big movie, even they attached some silencers on the AKs

  • svenne svensk

It is sad to se that syria is going to be devided. Saa, the kurds, militants idlib and latakia. Turkish backed militants in north and us backed in the south. This menas that the islamist terrorist never will be able to defeat

  • Yolo

This is only possible with accurate satellite intel provided by the usual suspects. Last year I noticed an IS attack on a remote camp that was not guarded very well and overrun. Then I had the same feeling, because around 5 IS Toyota came driving through open terrain. And how did they pick this outpost out the many?

  • Manuel Flores Escobar

Surely that SAA boy scouts forgot to put cordon mine-tramps+ guards with night vision binocular+ dogs that can smell incoming terrorist..etc…

  • javier

they should bomb them and kill10x

  • John Whitehot

    suspicious to say the least.

  • Jeth Roderet

I do not trust the claims of these savage terrorists.

  • Joe Dirt

    In Russkis back yard, lol
