On Friday, Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its allies from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) cut the Homs-Salamiyah highway near Sulaym village in the northern Homs countryside after a successful attack in the area, according to the HTS-linked news agency Iba’a.

This attack was the biggest violation of the de-escalation agreement in the northern Homs countryside so far.

HTS and its allies launched their attack few hours after the Syrian government allowed an aid convoy to enter their areas in the besieged northern Homs countryside. This prove that the US-backed FSA groups and HTS accepted the de-escalation agreement only to receive aid.

Syrian opposition sources reported that the Syrian Arab Army shelled with artillery Farhaniyah village and Talbiseh town in what appears to be a respond to the HTS attack. The sources said the SAA shelling didn’t result in any loses.

The SAA will likely launch a limited counter-attack, and reopen the highway in the coming hours. However, such attacks of the HTS and FSA in the northern Homs countryside will likely continue to happen on regular bases.

This hostile behavior of the FSA and HTS in the northern Homs countryside area will likely force the SAA to launch a military operation to drive the “opposition” out of northern Homs after ISIS is defeated. Especially after the recent developments proved that a peaceful solution there is hardly possible.

Carpet bombing non-stop until reaching 5000 deaths & they will never launch any attack. Most lickely they will even immigrate to Turkey and become transexual prostitute there. This is the 3rd major de-escalation violation to help isis & sdf in DE, fire fire & fire will educate these bearded boars !

Even when you sound an unconventional little bit in your comment, I can not stop me to totally agree with you my friend.
Because sometimes, extreme problems usually justify solutions of the same nature.

    • Valery Grigoryev

It’s just a matter of time. At current stage the most important for SAA and RuAF is an advance in Eastern Syria. After that job done, will be the total cleaning of Homs and Idlib pockets, I am sure.
All those ‘deescalation zones’ are just a temporary solutions.

zio satanic terrorists are hardcore war criminals – they were given a chance/chances but instead showed their true ugliest side – they have officiallyy inducted themselves as lapdogs to the supreme race in hell

  • dutchnational

How can HTS violate a de-escalation agreement that specifically excludes them?

Sounds stupid if you ask me.

    • Terence Silvestre Jr.

Is very strange to me too the content of this news and much stranger at asking me if it would not be the same HTS who opened their arms to the Turkish army in Idib, being Turkey one of the main player in the negotiations for the de-escalation agreement with Russia and Iran, my friends.

      • Brother Ma

You are right HTS are lap dogs of Turquia if not mostly composed of Grey wolf turco headchopping jihadis.

      • dutchnational

I fully agree with you on this.

As far as I know Al Qaeda, so HTS too, is considered to be a terrorist group by Turkey. However, it has been long known Turkey has no problem whatsoever cooperating with terrorists as long as those are anti-kurd or can be used that way.

    • Garga

Are you blind by choice or just allergic to the truth?
Maybe neither, but it’s your device’s screen’s fault which doesn’t show FSA’s name on it.

      • Terence Silvestre Jr.

I think you are somewhat uninformed and confused, my friend.
HTS is the strongest terrorist leader and group, all others, including FSA, are mere servants without definite causes, serving whoever is put in front of them,
be they americans, Tuquia or the same HTS at their convenience.

        • Garga

          Yes I am. Thank you.

          • Terence Silvestre Jr.

I congratulate you and respect you, my friend
Very few people here and anywhere, including sadly myself sometimes,
we have the courage to recognize some mistake.
            I admire you for that.

      • dutchnational

        And this relates to ???

    • João Leston

Just want you to be informed of what a de-escalation zone is:
      http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/05/syria-de-escalation-zones-explained-170506050208636.html

Btw, this one was brokered by the rebels, FSA, and the Government So it does inclued HTS.

      • Terence Silvestre Jr.

Unless I am a quite wrong, the HTS is not included in any oficial agreement because it is a group recognized and cataloged internationally as a terrorist group linked to Al Quaeda, my friend.
Reason for which I was surprised by the content and the same existence of the note that we all comment here.

        • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

This is Homs not Idlib wrong region as the deal was rebel backed.

      • dutchnational

        Nonsense.

HTS has been spcifically, by name, excluded from de-escalation.

    • Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The agreement was FSA in the Homs area not Syria government. The area has been problematic because of the US embedding themselves in the Homs area. Many of the current leadership are all intelligence agency affiliates and had been awaiting an arms shipment via humanitarian aid.

Serves them right for trying to make deals with terrorists. Maybe now they understand, there are no shortcuts to victory. You don’t sign papers with vermin, you fumigate them.

    • χρηστος

they cant fight in so many fronts…. deal means less soldiers sitting and waiting for the next attack.

Hope Syria has intel to find out who exactly launched attack & betrayed breach of agreement & then eliminate them.
