At least four people were killed and three others injured when a gunman opened fire at a festival crowd in the Russian province of Dagestan on February 19. The attacker armed with a hunting rifle was also killed as a result of encounter with security forces.
“People were leaving a church after an evening service when he opened gunfire at them,” the Russian state-run news agency TASS quoted Kizlyar’s Mayor Alexander Shuvalov. “Four people were killed. The shooter was shot dead. Two police officers and a woman were wounded.”
According to media reports, the number of injured people may be 5.
Security forces are investigating the incident.
