On January 31, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the Tiger Forces and the National Defense Forces (NDF) advanced further on positions of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham in the countryside of the town of Abu al-Dali in the province of Idlib.
According to pro-government sources, the SAA, the NDF and the Tiger Forces captured Sukariyah, Salhiya, Dhahabiyah and Tall Khatrah facing little resistance from the militants.
On January 30, government forces seized Halban, Zahbia, Jadida and Tawil Halib in the same area.
The ongoing SAA advance is slowed down by a complicated security situation in the government forces’ rear where the ISIS-held pocket still threatens the government-held area in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
On the same time, the Turkish Armed Forces still make attempts to establish additional observation points in the western part of the province of Idlib. If they are able to do so, they will limit the SAA operations against militants there.
