Following the bomb attack in Ankara on March 13 which left 37 dead, the Turkish military increased its military campaign against PKK although no groups has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Fresh fighting left 4 killed in Diyarbakir of Turkey

Today, it is reported that clashes between PKK and Turkish forces claim 4 dead in the southeastern city of Diyarbakir.

According to security sources, the fight broke out on Tuesday in Diyarbakir’s Baglar district which has left 3 PKK and one Turkish army soldier dead.

Several witnesses say that since the PKK blocked the roads, there were periodic gunfights between PKK and Turkish security forces.

Following the bomb attack in Ankara on March 13 which left 37 dead, the Turkish military increased its military campaign against PKK although no groups has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

It was also reported yesterday that Ankara also increased its airstrikes on PKK positions in northern Iraq.

According to Turkish military statement,  45 PKK militants have been killed in the Qandi mountain area in northern Iraq by the Turkish airstrikes on Monday.

The Turkish government has recently been engaged in an intensified crackdown on the country’s Kurdish population in the southeast, since then violence has increased in Turkey. The country also has been carrying out airstrikes against Kurdish positions in Iraq and Syria.
