Electrical "Incident" Strikes Iran's Natanz Nuclear Facility

FILE IMAGE: An Iranian technician is at the Natanz enrichment facility

On April 11, parts of the electrical grid at Iran’s main nuclear facilities at Natanz have been compromised after an “incident”, according to the reports by Al Jazeera.

“The reasons behind the incident are being investigated and additional information will be provided later,” spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi told the Fars News Agency.

There were no casualties as a result of the incident. No environmental pollution have been reported. Details of the incident were not disclosed.

According to the official statements, on April 1, Iran has started testing the improved IR-9 uranium enrichment centrifuges at the underground plant in Natanz. It should be put into operation together with IR-1, IR-2m and IR-4 centrifuges. Under the terms of the nuclear deal, Iran can only use IR-1 ones.

Last July, Natanz was hit by a large explosion. According to the Iranian side, the saboteurs sought to disrupt the uranium enrichment process at the Natanz facility, but they were not successful in this respect. The act of sabotage reportedly caused no casualties and failed to stop the enrichment work at the facility.

But the government, citing security concerns, has refrained from disclosing additional information, only saying it has identified the saboteurs.

The incident took place amid the first week of indirect talks to restore Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal in Vienna. This week two working groups were formed. One was aimed at listing the US sanctions from 2018 that would need to be lifted while the other would gauge what measures Iran needs to take to return to full compliance with the accord.

However, according to the reports the sides did not avoid the clash, with Washington predicting an impasse if Tehran sticks to a demand that all sanctions since 2017 be removed. At the same time. the United States claimed it may be possible to lift “sanctions that are inconsistent with the JCPOA”. Washington refused to precise the exact sanctions. At the moment, Tehran should not look for fulfillment of its demands.

Al-Jazeera is a Wahhabi outlet controlled by the British liar deviants, power surges are normal and this just nonsense and desperation. Iran has over 378 major nuclear facilities and Natanz is being upgraded so power surges are normal as new centrifuges come on line.

Trolls are mentally disturbed attention seeking frustrated individuals with miserable lives, so the best is to ignore them. There is just a single MEK pathetic troll waiting for the Iranian government to fall for the past 42 years. Must be old and sick now as his posts are mostly blank tweets. Can’t figure out what they mean? An empty head for sure. The MEK troll farms are in Europe and Albania in particular.

    3. Frank says:

It was a cyber attack on the Iranian power grid. It did not do any long term damage or cause any material damage or casualties. More of a propaganda psy-ops to keep Iranian nuclear program in the news. However, most global MSM simply ignored this “news”.

      1. Ashok Varma says:

These are failed cyber attacks and pose no real danger to Iran’s nuclear program. The Zionists are getting desperate.

    4. Ashok Varma says:

“In 2018, the Trump administration unilaterally withdrew from that
agreement, convinced that a new set of far more oppressive sanctions
would cripple the country enough to humiliate it into accepting new
terms more favorable to the United States. But President Donald Trump’s
gambit failed,” The New York Times said.

It noted that US sanctions have failed to change Iran’s behavior in
the way that the White House intended, saying that instead of submitting
to the US will, Iran decided to punish Washington by breaking new
grounds in its nuclear industry “to remind the United States what a
world without the Iran nuclear deal looks like.”

As a scientist I can assure you that India can benefit from harnessing its only natural resource, human waste, which it has in abundance.

      2. igybundy says:

Kind of surprising that in 2500BC they had indoor plumbing to move sewage and bring in fresh water.. Thats right/// While your ancestors were going through scat looking for half digested nuts they had indoor plumbing and piping..

        1. Condor says:

Their corruption and Hindu caste system that disenfranchises over half the untouchable population is a big impediment. India is not a country but a hodge podge of fragmented states with no center of power. The Muslims ruled India from the North and then the British followed the same Mogul policies as South India was considered too alien and different. India has no cohesive central plan like China and most modern states. Introducing public hygiene in schools should be the first step. Most African nations now can build relatively inexpensive latrines in rural regions, eradicating many water and air borne diseases. Hindus take pride in their filth.

    2. Condor says:

And how does that perversion of glee over human loss of life help your obvious sad quality or life or disturbed mental state?

      1. Proud Hindu says:

This is to bust the myth of the paper tiger aka superpower China.

        1. cechas vodobenikov says:

          slime dalit jealous

        2. Frank says:

Frankly, it is quite sad that China in three generations has regained its sole superpower status, while India is living a sub-human existence and lower HDI than Bangladesh and most of Africa. I am sure that makes you Hindus very jealous, angry and full of envy. The reason seems to be Hinduism and caste system and a largely primitive corrupt agrarian economy and over population.

        3. Condor says:

As a scientist, I try to deal with empirical data and you are obviously one of the Hindus living in the west and sweeping our malls. However, for the real poor Indians the situation is very dire.

‘Tragic combination’: Millions go hungry amid India’s disastrous COVID crisis

With near 160,000 second wave Covid cases being diagnosed every day, impoverished India faces collapse due to corruption, discriminatory caste system, and mismanagement. 950 million Indians have gone hungry during the pandemic, new study finds, as food insecurity is also on the rise as well as violence.

          1. Proud Hindu says:

If you are a scientist then Iran and China are truly superpowers lol

          2. Condor says:

Iran is a medium ranked power, comparable to Turkey and Russian. China is heading to be the only superpower with the world’s largest economy and manufacturing base. India and Nigeria are equals in terms of corruption, poverty and failed states. Pakistan is also a totally failed state. Bangladesh is doing the best of the lot in South Asia. Indonesia also has potential. India is a new state carved up by the partition and beset with immense population pressures, religious Hindu extremismt and the worst case of corruption based on caste system. That is the main reason India does not attract foreign investment and all Indian businesses seek western visas and transfer money overseas, like Russians.

Why are Resident Indians Remitting More Money Abroad Than Ever Before?

From $1 billion in 2012 to over $13 billion in 2018, higher remittances
could indicate greater spending abroad as the small class rich Indians look to diversify or the beginnings of a flight of capital from India due to future uncertainty and rampant corruption. For a country with a population equal to or greater than China this is a measly amount. China conversely attracts over $2.3 trillion a year in expat remittances and foreign investment.

  3. Gregory Casey says:

US refusal to lift all Sanctions imposed since Trump’s wathdrawal from the JCPOA shows the complete breach of trust and failure of bona fides on its behalf. The longer the period under which Iran suffers from Sanctions, the lesser will be the affects of Sanctions provided China Russia & other like minded countries continue to trade with them. After all, there is very little manufacturing done in America any more that either is not or cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Lockout from the financial system is probably the single greatest weapon US has had but as the world continues to de-dollarize, the less trade there will be that is dollar-dependent. American hubris prevents them from seeing into even the near future and understanding the extent of the American hegomonic collapse and so Iran is quite correct to insist upon full reversal of all Sanctions. America is probably too stupid to understand why.

    1. Frank says:

Frankly, as some of the more mature posts here have stated, the US is under intense Zionist pressure not to work out a new JCPOA with Iran. So these desperate Zionist attacks on the Iranian power grid are an acknowledgement of their desperation, rather than any serious capability. US intelligence has confirmed that Iranian nuclear program is now too far advanced to be rolled back. Iranians simply patch up the damage and upgrade their facilities.

  4. johnny rotten says:

The wild and brutal Nazi-Zionist war criminal has no problem to sabotage even when it could cost life to thousands or more people, we know them, we know their history of crimes against humanity and we do not expect anything less from them, so said this we wait and see what really happened, it could very well been an accident, we look forward to clarification.

    1. Just Me says:

This is made up news, Iran has dismissed as part of psy-ops.

The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran
(AEOI) has said an incident took place at the electricity distribution
network of Shahid Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan nuclear facility n Natanz.

“Fortunately, the incident did not cause any human injuries or
pollution,” Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Sunday, adding that the cause of
the incident is under investigation and that further information will be
      announced later.

        1. Gregory Casey says:

          And so it was.

        2. Frank says:

Frankly, your blank post is irrelevant. Here is is the US analysis:

The conviction is growing, US intelligence analysts note, that whatever
Israel may throw at Iran’s nuclear program, sabotage, cyberwar, malware
or even assassinations, including the death of its retired scientist last
year, the Iranians simply patch up the damage and get back on track.
Nine months after the Natanz centrifuge production hall was blown up, a
larger, newer more secure and modern facility was sunk underground. It was there that, on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani switched on new, advanced centrifuges
for the accelerated enrichment of uranium to grades prohibited under
          the 2015 accord.

  5. Just Me says:

LOL, nothing to worry about a minor power surge, just shows how desperate Iran’s enemies are. ROFLMAO.

    1. Frank says:

No viable damage appears to have been done.

      1. Condor says:

Short of a massive suicidal land invasion and physical dismantling like in Iraq’s small and basically non-existent program or Libya, Iran’s diverse nuclear infrastructural can not be dismantled. The US has agreed to live with a Iranian nuclear power and rest of the world is also accepting reality.

  6. Condor says:

The indirect Vienna talks with Iran to revive the JCPOA have broken down as US introduced more unacceptable demands due to Zionist pressure. So now there will be an escalation of sabotage attempts against Iranian nuclear facilities and infrastructure. The deep state is intent on creating more endless conflicts from Ukraine to South China seas.

    1. Gregory Casey says:

There appears to have been an (Israeli) attack on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities already this morning.

      1. Alekai Mordechai says:

Electrical trip board tweeking isn’t exactly “an attack”.

Its stands to reason that it would be some sort electrical disruption of some sort during peak rotation.

        1. Gregory Casey says:

I’d like to think so but I’m not so sure.
