Eight Wounded In Rocket Attack On Turkish Base And Police Center In Northern Syria

Illustrative image.

On January 20, at least eight people were wounded when a salvo of rockets hit a base of the Turkish military and a nearby police center of its proxies in the outskirts of the Turkish-occupied town of Azaz in the northern countryside of Syria’s Aleppo.

The rockets were reportedly launched from a strip of land in the northern Aleppo countryside that is jointly held by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian government forces.

According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, six of the wounded are militants working for the local Turkish-backed police force.

The attack may have been carried out by the SDF or one of its affiliates, like the Afrin Liberation Forces, in response to recent Turkish drone strikes on northern and eastern Syria.

On January 18, a fighter of the SDF was reportedly killed after a Turkish drone struck his vehicle on al-Malikiyah-al-Qamishli road in the northern al-Hasakah countryside. The next day, January 19, a second drone strike hit a position of the group near the town of Rmelan in the northeastern countryside of al-Hasakah.

The Turkish military and the SDF have been exchanging blows in northern and eastern Syria for a few weeks now. Both sides sustained casualties.

Ankara, who is currently engaged in Russian-sponsored talks with Damascus, renewed threats of a new ground operation in Syria earlier this month. The SDF is taking these threats seriously. In a recent interview, the group’s Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi said that he expects a Turkish attack in February.

HUMAN

If you consider INVADER OGRES the same as INDIGENOUS PEOPLE WHO ASK THEIR IDENTITY RECOGNIZED, yes. The very best would be SAA and YPG to CLEAN SURIYA by UNHUMAN GENOCIDALS and ITS PUPPETS!

jens holm

TYhen You have to replace the Assad brain and more in the Baath circles. SDF are not given the chance to devellop their own part of Syria even the rest is a non devllopment zone.

Turks agree in that too. No Kurds accorfing to them can ever be more then low class uneducated tribers wth too many tatooes.

Chris Gr

YPG cleansed indigenous also.

Attila

IT…. You still alive? inhuman genocidal IT it it maggot

jens holm

You must be joking. So many dont like Assads.

The main reasons unfortunatly is very old. A solution after WW1 should have been the main Kurdish areas as a neutral many tribes area.

But the Osman-Turks killed armenians up to 1924(Smyrna).

You dont get Kurds in many versions are more then 20 millions and 25% in Turkey. Most of them live in peace as the Turk/Turks but several millions dont.

The border is totally wrong made and even by a railroad line. They could have taken more Kurds into Turkey as well as most of the Turkmen in a trade. They could because the Turkey state also had border areas with many arabs mainly muslims but also christian version.

There is no just. Half of the Syrians lives outside Syria and support none. We see some come home. they go to jail right away and the men are made to concript. That mamkes no sense. Those are the ones, which dont want to kill each other.

And to be sober those comming back also dont join SDF, ISIS, The different Jihadists and Shamars.

Chris Gr
