On April 16, Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi inspected troops stationed at the country’s biggest Mohamed Najib military base. The formal goal of the inspection was to check combat readiness of the forces deployed there.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Commander-in-Chief General Mohamed Zaki, top military commanders, Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria, as well as a number of ministers and public figures, according to reprots in Egyptian media.
The Mohamed Naguib Military Base is located near the town of Al-Hammam, west of Alexandria. It is one of the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.
