Promitheas Apollonious

the trucks and the guns on them look anything, but DIY.

James

And I can’t think of when these would have been used…….50 years ago perhaps?

m7arbmahdi

It’s just a hunch, but I guess the Russians realized how important these were during the Syrian civil war esp in hit and run tactics in both urban and rural warfare. SF did a video once about this it was quite interesting. Furthermore these units are quite cheap and the DIY means that an truck like this can be fitted with these guns and armored with some steel plates

James

Yeah I know they used this style in Syria, I just thought they smaller pickups to be faster and more nimble to hide behind objects.

Alberto Garza

in the toyota wars an army of light trucks destroyed hundreds of lybian tanks

Promitheas Apollonious

obviously you have not been following and watching what happen in syria and what they been using.

James

I thought they used Toyota pickups?

Promitheas Apollonious

you mean it bother you that the russians did not use toyotas and instead used army trucks?

James

Yes, I think it defeats the purpose, especially in a place such as Syria. Surely they want something faster and more nimble so their not targeted as easily by TOW missiles?

Promitheas Apollonious

but the russians what they build they did not build it for syria they build it for their national guard. What part are you missing? When I mentioned syria I did as an example and how well it worked for them. Of course the terrain in russia is different than syrias so the right vehicle for the right terrain, will be chosen.

They use 12.7mm on a Toyota, the weapons on the Russian truck are 23mm.

A 6 wheeler truck will give better stability against recoil, leading to better accuracy, and better off road performance.
It’s not a dumper truck, it’s quite fast and nimble. It’s size is still smaller than an APC or AFV.

All female crews as well. I never realised that going shopping in Russia was so tough :)

Yes, I also didn’t think diy when I saw them. But the camo is not for northern climes on the Baltic. So why the desert camouflage?

Promitheas Apollonious

that strike me as odd too but i can not answer this. I know part of russians terrain

Prince Teutonic

Russian civil defense like US National guard?

goingbrokes

Civil Defence usually means fire fighters and rescue teams, but apart from that, yes, like the National Guard.

Promitheas Apollonious

nope they can actually fight and take very seriously their duties, at least the ones I know and have experiences, with.

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Could do with a 120mm mortar truck.

AG Korvin

Based on the obvious barrel elevation limitation and tell-tale camo these seem to be AA trucks armed with a twin GSh-23 machine cannon – e.g. probably an AA element of the forming light brigades being built upon UAZ Patriots.

A gun truck to fend off a bigfoot attack in the remote wilderness during an ET/ED contact op is an option in the US. Belt feed semi autos and trigger cranks are legal in most states. The bigfoot cover up is almost identical to the UFO cover up. Which is another indication of the ET/bigfoot nexus.

Used belt fed 30 cals can be bought new starting at $2,500.00. A magazine or drum fed AR is also an option.

“Is the GatCrank Legal?

The GatCrank at the Federal level is legal thanks to ATF Rul. 2004-5. However, several states have banned the GatCrank by name, or function. These states are California, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and New Jersey.”
