Defense Ministers of Syria, Iran and Russia to Meet in Tehran

Syrian defense officials hold talks wtih their Russian and Iranian allies in Teheran on June 8. The allies discuss the ongoing campaign against terrorism in Syria and the recent developments in the Middle East.

According to the Iranian state media, the talks are being held at the invitation of Iran’s Minister of Defense Hossein Dehghan. Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu and his Syrian counterpart Fahd Jassem al-Freij are invited.

It’s expected that the defense ministers are to exchange viewpoints on the regional developments and the ongoing fight against terrorism.

The talks are scheduled amid the intensification of the Syrian government military operations against terrorists in the provinces of Homs and Raqqa and air raids of the Russian Aerospace Forces across the country.
