Central Syria: Russian Warplanes Strike ISIS Hideout As Syrian Army Kicks Off New Operation

On December 21 and 22, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out at least 25 airstrikes on ISIS terrorists in Syria’s central region, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The London-based monitoring group said that the airstrikes targeted hideouts of ISIS in the deserts of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.

The Russian airstrikes were carried out in support of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies who kicked off on December 22 a large-scale combing operation in the central region. The operation will reportedly cover the deserts of Homs, Hama, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor all the way up to the southern countryside of Aleppo.

The operation is a response to ISIS cells’ recent attacks in the deserts of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor. On December 18 only, the terrorists killed two SAA soldiers in Raqqa and four Iranian-backed fighters in Deir Ezzor. The SAA and its allies deployed large reinforcements in the two areas in preparation for the operation.

ISIS terrorists will likely escape to the heart of Homs desert, their main stronghold in central Syria, in order to avoid the SAA and its allies.

The harsh winter weather in the region will make things harder for the terrorists, who reportedly survive on supplies bought from US-backed fighters based in the southeastern area of al-Tanf.

“ISIS terrorists will likely escape to the heart of Homs desert, their main stronghold in central Syria, in order to avoid the SAA and its allies.”

Thats total non sense.

According the article wintertime is hard for them too. We see them beg Red Cross in Al tanf for hats, coats and Mecca Cola.

No one like us. snif snif.

ATTILA

Ground Force will do the job. Air bombardment worthless.
