On May 20, the Russian Ministry of Defence confirmed that all the Ukrainian militants surrendered from the territory of the Azovstal Metallurgical plant in Mariupol.
” The territory of the Azovstal Metallurgical plant in Mariupol, where a group of Ukrainian militants of the Nazi formation “Azov” has been blocked since April 21 this year, has been completely liberated.
The underground structures of the enterprise, in which the militants were hiding, came under the full control of the Russian armed forces. In total, since May 16, during the operation, 2,439 Azov Nazis and AFU servicemen blocked on the territory of the plant have laid down their arms and surrendered.
Today, on May 20, the last group of the 531 militants surrendered.
The so-called “commander” of the Nazis “Azov” was taken out of the territory of the combine in a special armored car, because of the hatred of Mariupol residents and the desire of the citizens to punish him for numerous atrocities.
Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the completion of the operation and the complete liberation of the plant and the city of Mariupol from Ukrainian militants.” – the report reads.
