On October 1, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan released two videos of recent drone strikes on Armenian troops in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
The first video shows an aerial attack on an Armenian artillery position. Four D-30 122 mm howitzer were destroyed by Azerbaijani combat drones. Ammunition stored in the position also exploded as a result of the strikes.
The second video shows drone strikes on two Armenian 9K33 Osa air-defense systems. One of the two systems was clearly active.
The Soviet 9K33 Osa is a low-altitude, short-range air-defense system with a top range of 15 km only. The Azerbaijani military has destroyed many air-defense systems of this type since the begging of its attack on Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27.
The strikes were carried out with Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 combat drones. last June, Azerbaijan announced the accusation of several systems of this type.
Armenian air-defense units in Nagorno-Karabakh appear to be overwhelmed by the Azerbaijani military’s advanced aerial capabilities. Baku’s forces are commanding their aerial operations over the region with support from Turkey, according to Yerevan.
