Armenia Claims 790 Azerbaijani Soldiers Killed, 137 Equipment Pieces Destroyed As Azerbaijan Pounds Armenian Positions In Karabakh

Support SouthFront

On September 29 evening, the Armenian Ministry of Defense announced that since the morning of September 27, about 790 Azerbaijani servicemen have been killed and 1,900 people have been injured in the conflict erupted in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The Armenian military also claimed that its forces destroyed 137 units military equipment, including battle tanks, 72 drones, 7 helicopters and a military plane.

The Armenian side claims that its forces had eliminated a column with ammunition of Azerbaijani forces:

The Armenian media also reports not only the dramatic increase of a number of volunteers that moving to fight back the Azerbaijani advance, but also the unity among the prominent veterans. Armenain media released photos showing the meeting in a relative proximity to the frontline of prominent officers and generals, including Seyran Ohanyan, Vitaly Balasanyan, Arshavir Garamyan, Samvel Bababyan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Kamo Ogadzhanyan, Artur Aghabekyan, Samvel Karapetyan and Movses Hakobyan.

While this move was likely aimed at boosting the morale of the Armenian side, it also showcases the difficulty of the current situation. The pro-US government of Armenia created a situation in which Armenia has been facing an overwhelming force of Azerbaijan supported by Turkey.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that its artillery strikes pounded positions of the 1st battalion of the 5th Motorized Rifle Regiment near Gasangaya in the Tartar area and the 1st battalion of 6th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the Armed Forces of Armenia in the Talysh area. Azerbaijan claims that the Armenian military suffered heavy losses, and has been facing difficulties in finding equipment for organizing the evacuation of the dead and wounded.

The work of Azerbaijani combat drones. The Azerbaijani side uses not only Turkish Bayraktar TB2 combat drones but also Israeli Harpy loitering munitions:

Meanwhile, the Turkish leadership continued making loud statements vowing to support Azerbaijan in the war with Armenia. As of now, the only factor that stops Turkey from directly assisting the Azerbaijani advance on the Nagorno-Karabakh Region is that this move may trigger a military response from Russia that will have to react to any direct threat to Armenian sovereignty. This threat will appear inevitably if Turkey joins the war openly.

On the other hand, Iran is reportedly deploying additional troops and equipment to the border area with the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. Azerbaijani sources already accused that Russia uses Iranian territory to supply Armenia with weapons and equipment. Nonetheless, this is just a propaganda. What is more likely is that regional actors are just preparing for a possible expansion of the conflict into a big regional war.

I do not think US is supporting Armenia. US does not want to compete with Russia for influence.

But Turkey is just a big headache for Russia. Russia clearly stated they understand the concerns from Turkey. So the support from either US or Russia will be very limited.

We have seen what US and Russia did in Syria. Both of them backed off….

Armenia should keep their hope high. Back to negotiate. All the drone videos from Azeri side are real. Armenian casualty numbers are fake.

SevenMoons

Armenia has been so strong with propaganda war. But that won’t win on the battlefield.

Sorry. I know Armenian overseas diaspora is very strong. But you should fight the Turks on the genocide, not Azeri on its territory. Azeris did not make you suffer.

Servet Köseoğlu

Turkey is not a headache For Russia..This is not Turkey vs Russia issue just like in Syria..Pashinyan gets the support of Soros which succeded velvcet-orange revolution in ukraine, georgia, yugoslavia, chech. but in bela-russia not. Pashinyan dismissed, set pressue all pro russian officers-assets and this disturbs Russia rightfully,Russia raised the gas which exports to armenia, hasnt approved the credit which armenia needs to modernise its nuclear reactor..Pashinyan tries to change its magnitude to eu-france..Russia wants to pacify pashinyan but doesnt want to directly intervene..Russia already promised Azerbaijan 5 rayon out of 7 which were occupied..Aliyev ex-kgb officer without russian confirmation he cant dare anything..he allows azerbaijan to give lesson armenia..

Andranik

For these reasons I never trusted Pashinyan, especially since he was close to the previous Soros traitor Levon Ter-Petrosian. Western NGOs should be banned.

Servet Köseoğlu

well that stupid is trying to reinvent the wheel…he needs a reality check..he is getting now in hard way..young people who has to taste love, travel, family is dying because of his stupidity..

Andranik

I agree. Think about this, what is worst than having a career politician or corrupt oligarch in power? A career journalist. This is the problem with democracy, the general population has no idea what is best for the country, they have no right to have a say. I greatly admire the Chinese system of meritocracy, which has been fine tuned over the past 2000 years. Democracy is dying, that was in fashion last century. Authoritarianism is and will prevail. There has never been a nation that got wealthy from having more democracy.

Servet Köseoğlu

Democracy can prevail where every citizen approximately gets the same share,revenue..anyway all nations has to live, experience the systems, methods until they find out which fits them best..

SevenMoons

That is communism, isn’t it?

Servet Köseoğlu

aprroximately equal, wealthy lets say to be clear..

Andranik

I agree, each nation needs to find their own political solution, but what was imposed in Armenia is not it. Western-style democracy only works on those barbarian westerners with no history and culture of their own. Who robbed the world of its wealth and sits upon a throne to tell others how to develop. They are wrong.

Fog of War

Yes sir, this is all the ((( westerner’s ))) fault. There’s abloutely no one else to blame. Do you want your PHD now or later ?

Jens Holm

I dont see that. The democrasy make every citicen whcih can votte the same influence, right and responsalibities by being a citicen.

They by that all are covered by the constitution. Thye are not allowed to be violent against their goverment but they show their oppinions by speak, writing and demonstrating. Some few makes obstructions and often are punished relative mild.

Its not true we get the same share revenue. In Denmark we almost do but here and there we are like most democrasies, where the high paid also pay more for thre things, which are not free. In the other hand we have the poorest ones, whcih below some decided level get several things and services for free.

So I after all agree. That kind of system is decided by the peopleliving there by Parlment and Goverment, so they can be vey different.

cechas vodobenikov

exactly—each culture should develop their own arrangement consistent with their own values and circumstances

Fog of War

Democracy was dead on delivery, its designed to be that way. However, Marxism, Communism, or Democratic Socialism are not the answers. A new millenium requires a new political paradigm and a new mentality among the people of the world. The Khazars just LOVE giving Democracy to every nation. I wonder why ?

cechas vodobenikov

democracy always transforms into oligarchy—Robert Michel
the problem is individualism—-true democratic rule only functions in small groups
there are many variants–political , economic, organizational arrangements, legal systems
all function—some benefit small elites others provide more freedoms, etc…different societies with different values naturally create different arrangements

SevenMoons

You need to learn how to speak English…. Or stay elsewhere.

Tom Tom

it’s good enough. Better than our Turkish.

SevenMoons

He sound like Turkish….

Servet Köseoğlu

hahahah…

Jens Holm

…And chinese id a difficult language. Even so the chinese children speak it even they are vary young…

cechas vodobenikov

u ought to learn to think rather than believe you can tell others how to speak or write

SevenMoons

Why this is not like Turkey vs Russia in Syria?

In both Syria and Armenia, Russia gets what it wants. Military base and presence. To counter EU and NATO. Armenia has no one to go to, except relies on Russia for survival. France will never send army to Armenia to fight Azeris.

But Russia won’t fight to death in either Idlib or Nagorno-Karabakh. It does not want t a complete strong Syria or Armenia, which could just turn to EU for help. Russia is playing both cards for profits. Turkey plays cards too.

Tom Tom

Yes, and it is ironic that the previous war between Armenia and Azeri’s helped Azeri’s to independence, and forced Armenians closer to Russia. Armenia “won,” but it didn’t help their independence.

SevenMoons

Where can Armenia go? It is surrounded by Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran. France and USA are far away.

cechas vodobenikov

not bordered by Russia u moron

Fog of War

Except there is a defense pact involved. Not the case in Syria.

SevenMoons

Defense pact does not cover N-K. That is part of Azerbaijan.

cechas vodobenikov

unlike u backward turkis Russians do not believe in genocide like turkis amerikans

Fog of War

” I do not think US is supporting Armenia. US does not want to compete with Russia for influence. ”

No influence, ZioAmericas just wants military / economic domination. Influence operations are carried out by its ((( media, entertainment , and sociological manipulation ))) arm in a secondary nature.

cechas vodobenikov

lies—USA backed off as did turkis

SevenMoons

Also, I do not see that Iran has interest to help Armenia, which is a Christian country. The interests of Russia and Iran are not aligned here.

So Russia may station some troops inside Armenia. But it can’t stop Azeris from taking back Nagorno-Karabakh.

Lone Ranger

They can stop them, easily, question is do they want it or should Armenia learn its lesson…

SevenMoons

Why would Russia want to stop Turks? You see what happened in Syria and Libya. Armenia is just not worth it. Russia can protect Armenia proper. But not when Armenian army is on the soil of another sovereign country. Azeris are fight a just war. But Armenians and Russians are not.

Codenamed 'Gordon'

Just another brainwashed CIA hasbara
Armenians voted overwhelmingly in favour of independence on 10 December 1991.

SevenMoons

Any country recognizes your “country”. Zip, zero. Not even Russia or Armenia….

Andranik

Who recognizes Northern Cyprus again?

SevenMoons

At least there is no war in North Cyprus. But there is war in Nagorno-Karabakh. I hope Azeris take back its land.

Andranik

No war? What are you talking about? The Greeks kicked the Turks butts until the Americans had to step in and make the Greeks withdraw.

SevenMoons

When was that?? Is N. Cyprus still under control of Turkish side?

Andranik

1974, look up the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. There are some great documentaries on YouTube.

SevenMoons

That was so ancient. N. Cyprus is still there. Turks still there? What is new?

cechas vodobenikov

Maybe the Israeli involvment in azerbaijan might change your view.

Europe hates America

It’s funny to see all this turks coming with the same argument. This turks accepted kosovo but won’t karabagh which is full of armenians. As a swiss citizen and european I will always root for the armenians. Problem is putin is a snake and won’t help them against all this erDOGans isis turks

Andranik

Don’t forget Northern Cyprus which only Turkey recognizes.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

Cyprus is a Greek island.
Has been since over 3000 years ago.
The turks came in the 1200 AD and then started colonising.
Its is one island one people The Greeks.
The occupier the turkish scum will be kicked out one way or another soon.

Jens Holm

Greeks was replaced by Turks because Greeks drowned themself in dirt.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

No, it was actually your mother that drowned her self in dirt, and then 9 months after you popped out her dirty hole u tw@ty b@stard.

Jens Holm

Father seeme s to be haram in those matters:)

You cant debate women but rape and mothers are fine objects and not people, so thats allowed. They always are in the frontzone in the minefields but after the first son i born.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

Are you having a heart attack right now ? Or is it just your terrible misuse of the English language?

Are you saying women are objects, you degenerate imbecilic baboon ?

This is why people like you should never leave their backwards 3rd world country, this is why border patrol boats and border guards should shoot to kill all you illegal immigrants!

The Objective

You insult women too. I read two of your comments above disgracefully mocking someone’s sister you supposedly met in a bar and another person’s mother who’s womanhood is dirty. God! I can’t understand the level of moral degradation that’ll make a person comfortable posting such comments. SF should create rules that bar insulting other people’s relatives on this forum. And ban those who do that.

You mean DEBT, not dirt, or maybe both :)

Vox Populi

That is not accurate. Cyprus has a large Turkish minority in the North and that the reason they invaded in 1974.

Jens Holm

I wouldnt argue like that. Facts are the nationalistic greeks there was killers, rapers and thieved of the worst kind. as long as the Junta was in power in Athen.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

Thats BS and who are you to talk about killers and rapists you little naz1 c*nt !

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

The reason the turks invaded was cause the yanks lost control of the junta in Athens and didnt like the fact the Greek Cyrpriots wanted BY MAJORITY to unite with mother Greece.
They didnt want to see Greece grow bigger and control the very importand (for the middle east) island of Cyprus.
Divide and rule, thats the yankee moto as is the UK’s.

Jens Holm

Thats historical crap of the worst kind.

UK took Cyprus from both Osmanns and Greeks. I will remind You that britts had and has bases there.

Putting in americans like that only says You dont like americans.

And what did happen next. Well as planned Cyprus went into an own state, where the greeks in Athen and not the americans made the Turkish quagmire so Turks for good reasons felt them excused to take a part of the Island for the still alive Turks and some emmigrants.

The USA influence from 1945 was to keep the communists from power and had not a thing to doi with Turks. Turks were and are no communists apart maybee PKK.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

Thats a lot of Bull shit from an americunt turko-muslim.

the problem with Karabakh, is that the azeris have tried ethnic cleansing against armenis many many times

But this time Armenians are aggressors…. Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan.

Tom Tom

???

Vox Populi

Nagorno-Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan and internationally recognized as such. However, it has a large Armenian ethnic population that displaced a million Azerbaijanis in the post USSR conflict, sowing the seeds of today’s war.

SevenMoons

Those Armenians can just leave N-K. But why they expelled all the Azeris in N-K, also occupied several Azeri provinces. UN asked Armenia to leave those provinces first. But Armenians refused. They want to keep the status quo and occupy Azeri land forever.

Armenian aggressor. Be destroyed.

cechas vodobenikov

the ignorant hypocritical turkis

Jens Holm

Thats a simpleminded explanation of the bad ones. Those armenians – as I recall it – was displaced by the Ottomans bacause the poor terrain was almost empty.

And correct the Russian has moved many around, so they today dont know whats upside down. Here “mine” is a relative too.

Several etnicities was killed away by the Russians and the cirkassins was expelled from Russia fx to Syria and kosovo (what was left of them).

It seemes none of You have learned anything by that and the many small wars as well as the Tjetjenian war 1 and two.

This a a good link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circassianscomment image

SevenMoons

Is that the same argument Israel used to take over the land from Palestinians? Jerusalem was their ancestor’s land and they have all the right to take it back??

Is so, this world will never have peace. Kurds can say the same thing. All displaced people would say the same thing to get back their lands their ancestors lost….

cechas vodobenikov

historically incorrect—artashk has always been 95% Armenian

Vox Populi

That is historically correct.

Tom Tom

Iran is now deploying troops and armor to its border with Azerbaijan.

SevenMoons

Not for fighting. All countries would send army to border in this kind of situation.

Tom Tom

Is Russia and Iran “the West”? How many Azeri’s are in N-K?

SevenMoons

That was the same reason N. Cyprus declared independence…. The difference is that Turkey can counter Greece and holds onto N. Cyprus. But Armenia can’t hold onto N-K.

cechas vodobenikov

so u support the violation of international law by cretin turkeys in cyprus–u despicable hypocrite

Assad must stay

hahahahah think again pal, last i heard azeris were getting manhandled by armenians, at that rate it wont be long ;)

SevenMoons

Who is crying for international help? France can only talk. Russia will only bargain with Turks to get better terms. Azeris are ready this time. They must have spent a lot over the year to stockpile weapons.

Turks have a lot of bloody advanced drones. Very few casualty themselves. Armenians won’t get international support since they are on foreign soil and fight an unjust war. US and the West do not want another Palestine.

Assad must stay

Keep dreaming pal, the facts on the ground dont match your fantasies

Vox Populi

Armenian annexation of Nagorno-Karabakh is illegal and not tenable, they need to withdraw as this conflict has now given the Turks a permanent toe hold into the Caucasus which will spill over into Sunni Muslim Caucasus again. The fires of Chechnya are still smoldering.

SevenMoons

Correct. Also, with OIC open on the side of Azerbaijan, Iran would want to stay out of this.

cechas vodobenikov

after Russian planes killed 50 turkey troops erdogone came crawling to Moscow to beg for a truce in Idlib

Fog of War

Why does a Syrian have anything in this fight ?

Assad must stay

Whos talking about syrians?

Vox Populi

Russia has no clear policies anywhere and Putin is not fit for leadership and that has emboldened its enemies. However, Armenians have done well and depend more on Iran than anyone else. In any aggressive war, the attacking force has to make a breakthrough within 48 hours or it turns into a stalemate. The Turkish reliance on drones and not infantry, proved to be a fatal mistake.

Jens Holm

I dont follow the warfare part, but I anytime see drones as a supplement only.

Vox Populi

It is mostly a artillery and drone conflict. The Azerbaijanis don’t want to use infantry as they are not motivated and the Turks rely on drones, so a stalemate is obvious.

SevenMoons

No stalemate. After Armenian artillery and armors are destroyed, Aeris will send in its own armors and protected by the drones, or even planes. Then the separatists have to find rat holes to hide. There are not so many like in Syria. There are not many large city like Alepoo, Daraa, or Homs.

cechas vodobenikov

more turkis bird brain thinking

SevenMoons

Not true. This is N-K. As long as Turkey has the resolve, you just can’t shake it. This is what Turkey did in Idlib. It is illegal. But it holds.

Turkey’s involved this time is actually legal. It helps a sovereign country take back its own territory. International community can’t condemn Turkey like they did in Syria.

cechas vodobenikov

sure idiot—if turkis enters conflict Russia will crush turkeys; turkeys r aware 2 Russian military bases exist in Armenia

midell

Turkey adventure in idlib holds because of putin incoherent policy. Putin was warned that turkey will use idlib militants to export violent and terror to other countries and Region.. Libya and now Armenia.. They are attempting to enter lebanon.. Yet putin prevent the SA army from taking over idlib.

Assad must stay

Russia has a very clear policy. Putting everyone in a quagmire. Even the US are under the threat of civil war. The only stable country, as of today, is Russia.

I read things like “Erdogan will go up”. Erdogan will go nowhere. He is rapidly becoming the enemy of the world. Greeks want him dead. Indians soon will want him dead ( if he wins in the caucasus and keeps boosting Pakistan ). The US already tried to kill him once. The zios want to put their hands on a big chunk of turkish territory.

And wars cost. Turkey’s economy is in freefall. Its currency too. And he need to pay the bills for all the military hardware, oil and mercenaries.

Even the EU is waking up. They don’t want another ottoman caliphate in Europe.

As for Azerbaijan. People talk about war with Iran. Really? 85% of azeri are sciite. Religion is a serious thing for muslims. The only end result will be the overthrow of the Aliyev clan.

cechas vodobenikov

amerikans/turkeys r the liars and cowards—ask the kurds,

Vox Populi

It appears to be the case. It is quite perplexing that despite unlimited Turkish and Israeli support and a nod from the US, the Azerbaijan military has performed so poorly against a country a fourth of its size in economy, population and land size. It reflects very poorly on Turkey and its ambitions.

Jens Holm

I wonder which unlimited support gives. If they did they had already won. Do You have a lsober link for it or is You a liar?

Vox Populi

Neither side is capable of winning outright, the Armenians want to maintain status quo of occupation and the Azerbaijanis want their land back. It may turn out to be a protracted conflict like Palestine and Kashmir, this gives Turkey a chance to embarrass and weaken Russia and increase influence in the Muslim Caucasus. Putin has shown no, or very poor leadership of any kind, even diplomatically impotent.

Jens Holm

I take it again. Where are links for Israel participating in this?????

If not You as well a others keep Your low levels well. What else should anyone believe. Do the sun go up in west tomorrow?

I see no signs for that. We are not trying to push from east to west. the facts are the Bolsjevics collpased themselves because bot the Tzar and the Communist systems were not good.

And facts also are Europe never shoud have had Neocolonialisme all the way west of Berlin.

So we support regaining those areas destroyed by a very stupid version of communisme even plundering its forced and taken by force Neocolonies.

Helping those new states as well as the regained ones should be a plus for the and us. We help them. Yours has no patent there apart the extramillions of dead ones done by Stalin and Hitler.

And USA has changed Germany and divided its power as well as they have been re-educated and united in a growing EU. Even Eu is not perfect its much better and more prductive then the Russian Kombinates, Kolkhoses and Sovkoses.

And we see that for Belarus too. But they has to decide themself and not some few Lukashenka sdupporters or Putin. We do respect if those people would like to join Russia, but we dont respect Lukashenka tel the world he got 80%of the world.

We alsodont respect Your accusations about USA as well as the restof Nato and EU. Belarus belong to the peopleliving there. They should decide. You dont get they until Stalin by the Molotov-Rippentrop theft was a part of POland and was a part of poland before Russia. Presussen and Hungary-Austria divided it to 0.

Poles and Lituanoians are closer to them – or was until USSR before that also took ther Baltics. May pooles was disoplaced west. Many Germans was displced. Many were dead there in war and by civile killings. That included several million jews as well.

Your kind makes the contrast in Ukraine. If You insist in Bolsjevisme, they remain insisting in hardheaded nationalisme and includes Nazis. They all loved the Nazis when those arrived in 1941 after Your belowed ones did what they did toi the Ukrainians and many others.

Look at Caucasus today Russia took it by force and even expelled millions and displaced them and deported them. They killed many and imported emmigrants from the rest of ussia to make the quamire of today.

And You act as You know nothing about the turbulant way Stalin and company and before the Tzars wanted to make a spendable sheep Sovjety objekt hardly human race.

Your only excuse is You have not learned that in school. But You do have internet and can see I refer what has happens correct. Its not better Turks has behaved almost as You.

But putting in USA as the important ones for the things of today is a no way.

And Ukraine is different.

Tom Tom

Iran is now deploying troops and armor to its border with Azerbaijan.

PZIVJ

This is pressure to make Azerbaijan seek a resolution.
Instead of taking N-K territory by force, which they seem to be failing at.

SevenMoons

N-K is an huge graveyard. Iran won’t want to get in. Turkey just sent man-less drones. It has been so effective in Idlib. Azerbaijan has a lot of $$$ to buy those drones from Turkey.

Vox Populi

This is not an Iranian or NATO conflict. The Armenians occupied a large chunk of Azerbaijan after the USSR break-up and that has sown the seeds of a on-going conflict. Russia is too weak to support anyone as Syria has amply demonstrated. The Turks are supporting their ethnic kin and now a permanent feature in the Muslim Caucuses. Iranian appeal in limited in the region, due to the theocratic nature of the regime.

Fog of War

If Armenia loses Russia’s / Putin’s reputation is toast.

SevenMoons

Why is that? Russia only cares about keep Armenia and Azerbaijan fight each other. It does not care about N-K. Armenians should be there anyhow. Armenians are the aggressors.

PZIVJ

“Armenians should be there anyhow.”
A freudian slip? Perhaps you look for ethnic cleansing in N-K. :/

cechas vodobenikov

u r merely stupid

Lazy Gamer

The ak, anti tank missiles, and ieds revolutionized the battlefield. It is time for an assymetric solution for drones.

SevenMoons

Armenians never want to negotiate. They want to hold onto 25% of Azeri territory forever. It is just impossible. All the refugees should be allowed to return. And all Armenians immigrants should go back to Armenia.

Jens Holm

As many as 230,000 Armenians from Azerbaijan and 700,000 Azerbaijanis from Armenia and Karabakh. It should be both ways, shouldnt it?

SevenMoons

No. The fact is that 25% of Azerbaijan is occupied by Armenia. Armenians go back to its country. Then war is over.

cechas vodobenikov

when u return to your turkic genocidal nation and provide Kurds their own nation then your hypocrisy will not be so farcical

SevenMoons

Iranians are not aggressors like Armenians.

PZIVJ

Azeri forces with Turkish backing are doing the attacking.
So who is the aggressor. ?

SevenMoons

I’d attack too. To get my own territory back.

This is also what people in Gaza are doing. They want their home back.

Jens Holm

I hope You r enemies will get their territories back in the same kind of friendships as Yours. They were many too.

Vox Populi

A million Azerbaijanis were displaced in the 90’s and they lived in railway cars near Baku for years and want their lands back, like the Palestinians.

Jens Holm

It was no million and others were displaced too. Wiki says: As many as 230,000 Armenians from Azerbaijan and 700,000 Azerbaijanis from Armenia and Karabakh.

Here we of course has to add the many 1000s being etnick cleansed by necks. Is that what You and they would like to do again?

SevenMoons

I like to see the outcome and all the video of Armenian hardware getting destroyed…

paolinks

the only “little” difference is that Karabakh is an armenian majority territory

Gaza is palestinian majority!

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

I ll tell you who is an aggressor, your sister when i met her at the bar.
She literally came on to me. All it took was a bottle of Amstel and she was good to go though!
She wasn’t to bad either.

Albert Pike

Good one..

SevenMoons

I like watching the videos on the drones destroying Armenian tanks and other vehicles. Drones are super effective in that mountain terrains. There is nowhere to hide. Armors won’t help at all.

Do not know what Armenian forces can do after all their armors and artilleries got destroyed. Do they have to buy more from Russia?

Vox Populi

Azerbaijan has a lot of money indeed, but its military competence is limited. To occupy lands you need boots on the ground and not drones.

SevenMoons

Azeri army is different now. All the Azeri refugees want to return to their homes. They are motivated to fight for their land that were taken away from them.

This is the same thing those Palestinians and Syrians want to go back to their own homes and their land. N-K is not another Israel….

Jens Holm

As many as 230,000 Armenians from Azerbaijan and 700,000 Azerbaijanis from Armenia and Karabakh.

Konrad Ingvarssen

What other English language sources about this conflict are there, outside the mainstream media of course? I don’t care what side (if any). Telegram channels or whatever.

It will be revealing to see how much drone technology makes a difference in this war. Will they render armored vehicles on the ground useless? I’m trying to imagine a war where the combatants simply send drones at each other. If you can’t have vehicles, you can’t support infantry really either. Limited or no ammo, food and water. Any defensive position with dug-in infantry would get pounded from the air day or night. The temptation to try to win by taking the war outside Karabakh is going to be very strong. If they don’t there will be almost endless drones and no real victory, until someone runs out of money or the will to fight. Is this a possible scenario? I hope this stops soon.

SevenMoons

This won’t happen.

Whoever have more drones, it would make it very costly war for the opponent to continue. Like in Idlib, Turkey has more drones and it will be very costly for Russia to shoot down those cheap drones with its missile defense system. Russia has advanced air planes. But it is not a good match for 10 planes against 100 drones. Russia can still destroy some targets. But Russia has somehow stopped doing that.

So those Azeri/Turkish drones will destroy Armenian first line of defense. This includes all armors, artillery, bunkers, gun station, command center and main roads.

Then Azeri will send in its own armors and supported by infantries. The army has been trained by Israel and Turks. With Azeri/Turks control the sky, the Armenians can’t defend its positions and have to retreat. After the first line is broken, it is a matter of how fast the Azeris want to go. In the mountain terrain, armor + drones are hard to stop. You really need good air defense system.

Even the S300 was not so effective in Syria.

I do not think Azerbaijan + Turkey have any intention to enter Armenia proper. They just want to take N-K back and drive back the Armenian army. It is the understanding between Russia and Turkey that the security of Armenia should be respected.

Konrad Ingvarssen

I really don’t know much about drone technology. Obviously, cost is a real concern for both sides. You can’t fight a war you can’t pay for. But until one side is bankrupt, what does it mean to “control the skies?” What if one side were able to jam the drones , and prevent remote control (perhaps all of them, grounding their own drone fleet also)? How possible is this? I know there are “launch and forget” (for lack of a better term) type drones. But how good are they? Does either side have them? You could get drones that detect and shoot down other drones and manned aircraft, if the enemies drones and aircraft aren’t stealthy. But if they are stealthy, then, as long as both sides have them, could you freeze the ground battlefield, no one daring to move? That’s assuming both sides decide not to attack outside of the borders N-K.

I agree that this does not look good for Armenia, as the Azerbaijan seems to have deeper pockets and more man power. But the Armenian diaspora has some people with deep pockets and influence. Unpredictable events may shape things in ways we can’t yet foresee. I don’t know how this will turn out. The Armenians are historically Christians and that may garner them some sympathy in Russia and the West. I hope neither side plays the religion card too hard. It would only make things worse.

cechas vodobenikov

nonsense—if this were true SA would have defeated the Houthis and USA would have defeated Vietnam and Afghanistan

Jens Holm

Dont trust Your guessings too much. You have an enemy too. Maybee they have learned how and where they are weak. But You can be right too. Fx You forgot minefields.

You also forget there are many kinds of drones and people also learn and improve there.

I have no intensions of arguing with You. Its reflexions and also visibles seen from Syria.

I dont know the soldiers from those countries but I have seen ISIS can win battes only having the low ground digged deep and well too. Others are like that in several ways of doing things. SDFs are better to keep their positions then many and with fewer soldiers.

I wish You lck for good guessing. It sometimes is needed. And dont forget the weather. The weather has changed many battles and wars.

JIMI JAMES

You don’t know what the fk your on about,if anything a few decent fighter jets with far better missile range and detection can destroy the 100 drones in a jiffy come push to shove yet russia can make them like hotdogs (period) Get off the cia crack hed!

Fog of War

Yes, drones are a new devlopment in warfare. However, they must be used in a combined arms scenario to be most effective. I guess this also applies to most weapons systems.

Drones will never totally dominate the battafield because, as with most high tech weapons, the cost will be prohibitive. Just like with combat aircraft, helicopters, tanks, etc. All nations will have to continue to find a blalance of weapons as has always been the case in warfare.

SevenMoons

Did Armenia really lose its SU-25? Or fabricated? I’d happy either way. Any bastard should be shut down.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

MAYBE WE SHOULD SHUT YOU DOWN THEN.

Fog of War

” The pro-US government of Armenia created a situation in which Armenia has been facing an overwhelming force of Azerbaijan supported by Turkey. ”

More like Armenia ((( ZioAmerica ))) created a situation where Russia is facing a very interesting decison.

Jens Holm

Using pro US makes no sense.

They want to try something else, which is the rest of the world. Friends to them should not try to deny them that. So if they are no friends, why listen and follow. I would not if I couuld avoid remaining as small second class in the leftover collapse.

cechas vodobenikov

drones admire drones—they enjoy little relevance in mountains except for creating photo shop fake news. Azeris cannot contend w Armenian troops in the mountains—their tanks and military vehicles are easy targets
likely the turkeys and amerikans encouraged this conflict; in 2016 USA sided w azeris, not Armenia

hans meiser

irans caucasian provinces will soon come back and this imposter republic of azerbaijan will come to an end

James Adams

Turkish is going to be smashed like they have been in Syria and Libya !! All failed interventions !!!

The Objective

Iran has a history of supporting Armenia against Azerbaijan. It wouldn’t be a surprise if they do so now, so you can’t dismiss such claims outright.

SnowCatzor

Casualty claims are always inflated, especially by the Azeris, but it definitely looks like Erdogan will be frustrated that his puppets aren’t able to blitzkrieg NK the way they were probably hoping to. Thus I fear Erdogan will slowly worm his way into the conflict by provoking Armenia into firing at some of his forces, giving him an excuse to ‘counter-attack’. This is largely what they did in Syria and Libya.

Without Turkish direct involvement, at best the Azeri’s might gain a few small portions of land, at the cost of hundreds of men, vehicles and drones. Basically: the status quo.

I don’t see Russia getting directly involved unless Armenia proper comes under significant attack i.e. not just a few stray artillery shells along the border. Frankly the current Armenian administration doesn’t deserve Russia’s help after all the anti-Russian crap they’ve been up to recently.

Iran ain’t getting involved, it’s just securing it’s northern flank and stopping any potential ethnic-Azeri ‘uprising’.

ypovalkanios_katimas

blitzkrieg is impossible in our era . Germans did it because it was pioneer tactic for their era.

The only way to capture such mountainous land is by massive airborne and infiltration of special forces and fighting/cleaning hill by hill thing that Azeris are incapable of

<>

Happy to help Azerbaijan with our drones :)

paolinks

You will not be so pleased when they will try to destroy your country. They are muslims, and sciites at that.

<>

Secular ones, I’d prefer them than the Palis anyday.

paolinks

Secular State. But are the people secular? We are talking about people that have exterminated scores of armenians, every time they have had a chance. The soviets were forced to send in the tanks every single time!!

Such a bunch is really part of a secular society? They look less civilized than saudis to me.

<>

“Like all other post-Soviet states formerly ruled by the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan is a secular state; article 48 of its Constitution ensures the liberty of worship, to choose any faith, or to not practice any religion, and to express one’s view on the religion. The law of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1992) “On freedom of faith” ensures the right of any human being to determine and express his view on religion and to execute this right. However, a 1996 law states that foreigners have freedom of conscience, but are denied the right to “carry out religious propaganda”, i.e., to preach, under the threat of fines or deportation.[6] According to paragraphs 1-3 of Article 18 of the Constitution the religion acts separately from the government, each religion is equal before the law and the propaganda of religions, abating human personality and contradicting to the principles of humanism is prohibited. At the same time the state system of education is also secular.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Azerbaijan

I also read that most Azeris don’t even attend Mosque prayers.

“Irreligion in Azerbaijan is open to interpretation according to differing censuses and polls.[1] Although Islam is the predominant faith in Azerbaijan, religious affiliation is nominal in Azerbaijan and percentages for actual practicing adherents are much lower. It is difficult to quantify the number of atheists or agnostics in Azerbaijan as they are not officially counted in the census of the country.[2] Azerbaijan is the most secular state in the Muslim world.[3]”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irreligion_in_Azerbaijan

paolinks

Yes I agree. And according to art. 48 of their constitution, they shouldn’t go around purging armenis!! Instead it happens even today. Armenis living in Azerbaijan are discriminated.

This is why this thing about secular States doesn’t convince me. The US is a secular State, yet we have “I cannot breath”!!!

And it is a consolidated trend. Laws means very little today. Countries violate international laws. Citizens violate national laws. If you have power, you can do whatever you want. Power has become the new law. And power doesn’t give a f*** about secularization.

<>

With that I agree, the strong ones make the rules.

hvaiallverden

Yeah, first we had the HasbaRats, then came the Britards and various EUrotrash, and some whom is exusing the spineless Russians all the time, and then we have the constant barrage from the Yankikes, and so on, incl some Scandinavians witch are equally braindead as the Yankikes, and now, we have Turdian donkey fellatores crawling all over, and that makes this coment field to an joke, but as children they like to brag and make noice, they never left the teenages, they are not even good, or even slightly credible, just anoying, but then again, they are payed by the amount of comments they make so thats why the hang around and crashes everything with their “exseptional briliant” one liners, reminds me about the Units drooling shitheads.
Yup, another day in paradise.

Random Dude

Iranian Azerbaijanis are burning that equipment. Best of luck

Rhodium 10

Azerbajan can damage Armenian militar assets…but it is too diffficult for Azerbajan tanks, artillery and APC be safe of ATGM teams deployed along mountains full of trenchs and caves!

RD-180

If Moscow will decide to counterbalance an attack from Turkey the most efficient way would be to attack and occupy Azerbaijan’s coast on the Caspian. Baku is also on the caspian coast! Ooops!
