Late on September 6, the Israeli Air Force hit the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
According to the claims by the Israeli Defence Forces, the attack was carried out in response to the launch of incendiary balloons towards the Israeli territory.

Sources in Gaza reported the destruction of one of the rocket launchers and claimed that there were no casualties among the local population. The Israeli attack reportedly targeted the Al-Qadesiyah military outpost in western Khan Yunis.
The air strikes of Israeli Air Force have targeted Gaza on a regular basis since the major escalation in May that resulted in signing of a ceasefire deal with Hamas. Most recently, early on August 29, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes, targeting a military compound used for manufacturing weapons and training as well as an entrance to a tunnel of the Hamas Movement, the de-facto ruler of Gaza.
