On January 18, another explosion reportedly struck a natural gas pipeline between Egypt and Israel in the northern Sinai Peninsula, according to images and reports appearing in social media. Images from the area show a large fireball that could be seen from a distance.
The incident took place between the towns of Arish and Bir al-Abd in Egypt’s Sinai.

No group has taken responsibility for the attack. Nonetheless, ISIS is the main suspect. ISIS terrorists already targeted the pipeline in the region in the past. The previous incident of this kind took place in December 2020.
