Americans Overwhelmingly Reject Going To War With Iran, New Poll Finds

Americans are opposed to going to war against Iran by a more than two-to-one margin according to a new poll.

This week relations between Iran and Washington entered a heightened intensity and new war of words, with the dangerous potential for an actual war seeming to rise daily, especially after President Trump’s latest twitter warning to Iran of “consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before…” should Iran’s leaders threaten the United States.

Americans Overwhelmingly Reject Going To War With Iran, New Poll Finds

The US has repeatedly threatened to throttle Iran’s international oil trade as it’s moved closer to imposing sanctions on countries including key allies that don’t eliminate or significantly cut imports of Iranian oil by Nov. 4. It’s but the latest crisis to emerge after the White House pulled the US out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal in May. This is why gauging public opinion on the prospect for war with Iran is particularly important at the end of this week.

The new HuffPost/YouGov survey finds the prospect of war with Iran out of step with the American public on a bipartisan basis:

Just 23 percent of the public say they’d support the U.S. deciding to declare war on Iran, while the majority, 53 percent, oppose the idea. Just 9 percent would strongly support declaring war, while 37 percent are strongly opposed.

The survey further finds: “Voters who backed Hillary Clinton in the last election are the most vehemently against the idea, with 82 percent opposed and just 6 percent in favor; non-voters are also opposed, 48 percent to 20 percent.”

And concerning Trump supporters: “Voters who backed President Donald Trump’s campaign are more likely to support a war against Iran, but even among that group, backing remains below the majority level, with 47 percent saying they’d support declaring war, and 29 percent that they’d oppose it.”

Numbers among Trump supporters:

The poll was taken early this week, soon after Trump blasted Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani on twitter, eliciting multiple belligerent statements from Iranian military generals which followed.

The poll also found that 60% of Americans surveyed were aware of the Trump tweet through news reports, with 12% saying they’d seen in directly on twitter.

Numbers among Clinton voters:

About 60 percent of Americans polled say they’d heard about Trump’s tweet, although just 12 percent had seen it directly on Twitter, with the rest learning about it from the news.

The poll concludes of Trump’s general handling of Iran-related issues: “Overall, 36 percent of Americans say they approve of Trump’s handling of issues related to Iran, while 42 percent disapprove, and the rest is uncertain. That net -6 is slightly more positive than overall views of Trump’s job performance.”

There are a number of hawks in the Trump administration who would like to see a preemptive strike happen based on the claim of an alleged continuing nuclear weapons program, most notably among them national security adviser John Bolton and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani. Though notorious uber-hawk Bolton may have had his wings clipped by President Trump, he’s on record as wanting “regime change in Tehran” before 2019.

Iran with no Rothschild controlled Central Bank or debt.
Iran, who the US planned to invade, many decades ago. Even General Wesley Clark confirmed that.
Iran, who allies of the US say, the US is preparing to bomb. Mattis using ‘play on words’ to try and deny it, but, notice how he ‘plays on words’.

I do like what General Major Soleimani has to say:

Excuse locked caps, owing to cut and paste laziness.

Trump Outmatched: Major General Soleimani sharply reacts to Trump’s recent military threat…

    …From Press TV:

Iran’s Major General Qassem Soleimani has sharply reacted to the recent “cabaret owner-style” military threat by US President Donald Trump against the Islamic Republic, saying he takes the position to respond “as a soldier” since it is beneath the dignity of Iran’s president to do so.

ADDRESSING TRUMP, THE COMMANDER OF THE QUDS FORCE OF IRAN’S ISLAMIC REVOLUTION GUARDS CORPS (IRGC) SAID, “YOU THREATEN US WITH AN ACTION THAT IS ‘UNPRECEDENTED’ IN THE WORLD. THIS IS CABARET-STYLE RHETORIC. ONLY A CABARET OWNER TALKS TO THE WORLD THIS WAY.”

He was reacting to Trump’s all-caps tweet addressed to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in which he threatened the Islamic Republic with actions “the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before.”

The tweet came after President Rouhani warned the US against its hostile approach against Iran, saying America should know that peace with Iran will be the mother of all peace while war with the country will be the mother of all wars.

    …………………….

PressTV-President Rouhani on war and peace with Iran
President Rouhani says the US should know peace with Iran will be the mother of all peace and war with the country will be the mother of all wars.

“It is beneath the dignity of our president to respond to you. I, as a soldier, respond to you,” Soleimani further said…

    ……………..

“WHAT WAS IT THAT YOU COULD DO OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS BUT YOU DIDN’T? YOU CAME TO AFGHANISTAN WITH SCORES OF TANKS AND PERSONNEL CARRIERS AND HUNDREDS OF ADVANCED HELICOPTERS AND COMMITTED CRIMES THERE. WHAT THE HELL COULD YOU DO BETWEEN 2001 AND 2018 WITH 110,000 TROOPS? YOU ARE TODAY BEGGING TALIBAN FOR TALKS,” MAJOR GENERAL SOLEIMANI SAID.

The Iranian commander added, “Afghanistan was a poor country, what the hell could you do in this country that you are currently threatening us?”

    ………………….

“YOU ARROGANTLY ATTACKED IRAQ WITH 160,000 TROOPS AND MULTIPLE TIMES [MILITARY EQUIPMENT] COMPARED TO WHAT YOU USED IN AFGHANISTAN, BUT WHAT HAPPENED? ASK YOUR THEN COMMANDER WHO WAS THE PERSON THAT HE SENT TO ME AND ASKED ‘IS IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO GIVE US TIME [AND] USE YOUR INFLUENCE SO THAT OUR SOLDIERS WOULD NOT BE ATTACKED BY THE IRAQI FIGHTERS IN THESE FEW MONTHS UNTIL WE EXIT THIS COUNTRY?’ HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN THAT YOU PROVIDED ADULT DIAPERS FOR YOUR SOLDIERS IN TANKS? DESPITE THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY THREATENING THE GREAT COUNTRY OF IRAN? WITH WHAT BACKGROUND DO YOU THREATEN [US]?”

    ……………………

“WE ARE NEAR YOU, WHERE YOU CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE. WE ARE THE NATION OF MARTYRDOM, WE ARE THE NATION OF IMAM HOSSEIN, YOU BETTER ASK. COME; WE ARE READY. WE ARE THE MAN OF THIS ARENA. YOU KNOW THAT THIS WAR WOULD MEAN ANNIHILATION OF ALL YOUR MEANS. YOU MAY BEGIN THE WAR, BUT IT IS US WHO WILL END IT,” HE SAID.

    ……………………….

In Yemen, Soleimani said, the US-backed coalition of Saudi Arabia and its allies has been incapable of making any gains against the country’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, which is both running state affairs and defending the nation against the Riyadh-led aggression.

“A MERE ORGANIZATION IS STANDING AGAINST YOU IN YEMEN, BUT IT HAS EMERGED VICTORIOUS IN THE FACE OF THE MOST ADVANCED OF YOUR MILITARY EQUIPMENT. WHAT HAVE YOU ACHIEVED OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS? YOU STRIPPED THE RED SEA – WHICH USED TO BE A SAFE SEA – OF SECURITY. YOU BROUGHT UNDER FIRE SAUDI ARABIA AND [ITS CAPITAL] RIYADH – WHICH HAD NOT SEEN A SINGLE ROCKET FIRED AT THEM FOR 100 YEARS.”

    …………………

The senior general further warned Trump against insulting the Iranian nation and president.

“Trump! You must not threaten our nation and must not insult our president… You must know what you are talking about; ask your predecessors and take advantage of their experiences,” General Soleimani emphasized.

    ………………….

The commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force said, “America had some grandeur in the past [and] when its fleet moved out, a nation fell apart. Have you now become attached to the Monafeqeen, who have been thrown in the trash bin of Iran’s history? You have become attached to a vagrant woman, and show her in all [your news] networks; is your hope pinned on this? Is this all your power? You are aware of our power in the region and capability for [launching] asymmetrical war?”… https://www.veteranstoday.com/2018/07/26/trump-outmatched-major-general-soleimani-sharply-reacts-to-trumps-recent-military-threat/

Heh heh… CABARET owner! That one is priceless.

      • AM Hants

Love what he said, from a soldiers point of view.

    • John

Yeah, I read Gen. Soleimani’s remarks. It is interesting that after he put in his opinion on things, everybody on the US side pretty much toned it down or completely shut up. The cabaret owner crack was priceless and pretty much dead on. I wish well to you AM.

      • AM Hants

Take care John and hopefully sanity will turn up, eventually. I did like what Gen. Soleimani had to say.

  • Garga

    Wow.
Based on this data, I was an idiot hoping Trump beats Hillary at election. I thought both are awful, but Hillary more than Trump.
My overall opinion was that Hillary directly promised to bomb Iran, has a stained history (Benghazi and all that), while Trump promised to talk with Russia and DPRK to make peace/ease the tensions, sending back US military and focus on the US problems, while also threatening to breach the JCPoA. I though: “OK, this woman is confessing to be a MIC shill, while that orange thing wants to be good for America”. In my naive thinking I thought if he’s good for his own country (meaning average people) he can’t be so bad for the world”.

I was conned and I’m not even American, what a shock! The only promises he kept was the ones Israelis wanted and he screwed average Americans. I don’t know if it could become that bad if Hillary became the president.

    • Barba_Papa

In all fairness, both Hillary’s and Trump’s voters were not interested in foreign policy. To Hillary’s voters Trump looked crazy and dangerous, likely to start WWIII, they never paid much attention to the extremist neocon policies that she espoused. To them she was the chance for the first female president. And Trump played the America First card way more then his Israel First agenda.

In the end elections in the US are almost always decided by domestic issues and policies. And in that sense Trump did better then she did. His America First message resonated better then her , elect me, because I am a women and therefore deserve it!

    • pepa65

This is people who VOTED for Trump or Hillary, not the leaders themselves. Of course Hillary is way more hawkish, but her supporters really aren’t (at least now…).

      • Garga

If their base is any indication, ya know what I mean?

    • Pave Way IV

“…I was conned and I’m not even American…”
We only hire the best propagandists – must be top 5% of psychopaths at Evil University and had documented history of torturing small animals as a child.

“…The only promises he kept was the ones Israelis/his Zionist donors wanted and he screwed average Americans…”
Trump grew up in a Jewish neighborhood, went to Jewish schools, and went into Jewish-mob-run East Coast real estate business.

The survey was conducted by The HuffPost, still traumatized and in a mild state of shock that Hillary lost, despite their best efforts to demonize Trump. The ‘survey’ has all the credibility of a U.S. politician and the methodology is laughable:

      Number of respondents 1000
Margin of error ± 3.9% (adjusted for weighting)
      Survey mode Web-based interviews
Questions not reported 47 questions not reported.

The amateurish survey found the exact results it was looking to report. That shouldn’t surprise anyone.

“I don’t know if it could become that bad if Hillary became the president.”

For what is worth…I think Hillary would be much worse. We would be in WW3 already.
And I agree with everything you’ve said on Trump.

  • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

This poll really does not matter. If the US elite want war with Iran, they will get war with Iran, by hook or crook. It is high time for Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria and Turkey to say with one voice to leave Iran alone or else.
If Iran is not protected by the SCO then all the SCO “leaders” should go home, put some dresses on and prepare for slavery to the US/EU/NATO Borg Collective.

    • Barba_Papa

The polls do matter. A US president can order an out of the blue strike on a foreign country, but only if its brief. Actually going to war for a prolonged campaign means having to persuade both Congress and the American public. That’s why the leadup to the Iraq war still took most of 2002. A case for war had to be made. And that case is harder to make today because of the Iraq invasion and insurgency. Despite the best that the West has managed to do to paint Assad as a brutal killer there is no stomach for going to war into Syria in the West, other then the odd cruise missile attack. And while Trump could order an out of the blue attack on Iran, from carriers and cruise missiles, such a brief attack would accomplish nothing. In order to accomplish actual regime with military means a prolonged invasion would be necessary. It would require at least a full year of sustained propaganda campaign. And even then I think it doubtful that the American public would swallow it, not after Iraq. And even Iraq was only possible because of the general craziness that followed after 9-11.

      • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

“Trump could order an out of the blue attack on Iran, from carriers and cruise missiles, such a brief attack would accomplish nothing.”
On the contrary, that sort of attack could spark an Iranian retaliation that would result in a wider war that the US is not ready for.
Iran will defend itself, in ways that could prove very costly for the US in terms of US lives, and that would be the spur for a deeper and longer involvement.
Let me list the possible Iranian response to a Syrian style cruise missile attack:
        1. All the US embassies in the ME and beyond will be targets.
        2. The illegal US forces in Syria would be sitting ducks.
        3. The US forces in Iraq will be under attack by battle-hardened Shia militias.
        4. The US forces at the bases in KSA, Bahrain and Qatar will be under attack by Iranian missiles.
        5. The US forces in Afghanistan will be getting an even warmer welcome.
        6. Will the US ships be safe?
Unlike in Syria, there will be no quiet deal with the Russians to keep Iran from exacting a terrible price for US aggression.
Is the US ready to send 500,000 troops to subdue Iran?
Perhaps, they would arrange a false-flag attack in Washington to twist the public opinion and so start the war.
All this with just a few cruise missile attack.

        • Abradat Pakzad

In addition to VeeNarian just said. you need to know mentality of Iranians. they have protected their country for 2600 years. it is in their blood to fight outside invaders. when Saddam attacked Iran, a small compliment of Marines stopped two tank battalions for 10 days. Even after they were ordered to retrieve, they refused to leave and died in their defensive lines. Iran today is much stronger than when Saddam attacked. People automatically assume US will be victorious. Not so in Iran’s case. US must send and support troops half a world away to fight a strong army that vigorously defends its land. It would be a blood bath for US troops. In a maneuver few years back in Gulf of Mexico simulating attacking Iran, US lost 20,000 troops in day one and they had to stop the maneuver. Trump may be a fool, but his generals are not. invasion of Iran will never happen. Iranian government loves to be attacked by US, that bring unity with people. just like when Saddam attacked, people stopped fighting with the government to defend country against invaders

          • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

In short, a second Vietnam awaits the violent and expansionist US.
Many in India will wish the best for the freedom of the Iranian people. A free and proud India and Pakistan would send a joint force of ships, planes and soldiers to Iran to send a powerful message that the US and its stooges will never forget.
Unfortunately, there are too many stooges in the India/Pakistan elite.

          • jako

“A free and proud India and Pakistan would send a joint force of ships, planes and soldiers to Iran”

India and Pakistan are literally traditional ENEMIES that had few wars and endless small conflicts between themselves.
In short they hate each other.
About what ” joint force of ships, planes and soldiers” you are talking about?!

Have you been drinking or is it only drugs?

          • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Just coffee and tea will do to fire up my imagination and clear up the vision this morning!
Indians and Pakistanis do not hate each other. Their elites do use divisions to pursue power and that will continue until they are exposed.
As to wars, the next one will result in massive death, starvation and total collapse for both of them.
My parents generation did suffer from the effects of partition, but they still brought us up not to hate Muslims.
The elites and billionaire class are being exposed throughout the world and the India/Pakistan elite is no exception.
Both countries face massive challenges but the eyes are finally opening. Pakistan has been a loyal member of the US/EU/NATO gang since 1947, only to suffer massively. Now India has been ordered by the Borg Collective to destroy its economy by not importing Iranian oil. This will not happen. The Indian elite that wanted to suck up to the US has now been totally exposed for the traitors they are.
We will see that as the Indian economy soars into the sky for the rest of the century, petty disputes with all its neighbours will be settled one by one. It began with Bangladesh and the settlement of borders and enclaves.
The Western game of divide and rule is up. PMs Modi and Imran Khan will have a summit very soon to begin to heal the divisions of 1947. They both have the power to finally complete the partition process and move on to mutual development of 2 billion people in South Asia.
The US/EU/NATO imperial diktats over Iran will be the final catalyst for the re-alignment of this century that will lock out the Borg Collective for centuries.
Watch this chain reaction which started in 2014:
            Russia>China>Iran>Turkey>Syria>Iraq>India>Pakistan.
The Western supremacists goose is well and truly cooked.
Watch how Iran is protected by India and Pakistan, with the full backing of SCO.

You story sound very nice except it doesn’t fit well with my life experience.
Things in life do not go so smooth and dandy.
And human nature is quite rotten.
So there is reason for that Roman “Divide and rule!” to be main rule of thousand years.

The only reason why Iran is not attacked was not certainly because of India and Pakistan but China and Russia.
I would wish that you are right though.
I am sick and tired of U.S. , NATO, IsraHELL, and other stooges
And I am sick and tired of WARS !

          • LR captain

um trump ordered the navy to fire 12 destroyer captains, for bad behavior (they did not want to lunch strikes at Iran because has anti-ship missiles that can fired by infantry teams.) 3 of those captains had launched strikes at Government forces, but even then they were scared to do so. Manly because they feared Russians T-60 bombers coming down from the north and wiping them off the earth.

          • jako

          • Abradat Pakzad

I have not heard the news of firing 12 captains. but I know that Iranians claiming to have 5000 speed boats, assuming that the true number is 1000. These boats are capable firing 12 Grad rockets and firing two torpedo’s. that makes 12000 rockets and 2000 torpedo’s in a small area of Persian gulf. not counting any other means such as land to ship and airplane missiles, etc. No navy can survive such a attack. That is why Iran has not been attacked. Iranians do not need any help to defend itself. If Us attacks Iran, war would be over in matter of hours

        • Barba_Papa

I’m not denying that Iran could do all those. I was only saying that if he wanted too the US president, be it Trump, or Hillary if she had won, could have and still can attack Iran relatively easy out of the blue for a quick ‘we have to look good and manly on the 8 o’clock news’ strike. And Iran could do all of those.

The question is though, will Iran go all out in case of a quick ‘we have to look good and manly on the 8 o’clock news’ strike? Like the ones the US pulled in Syria. Because there would be no going back if Iran did. And then both countries, the region and the world will pay a terrible price.

          • Joe Kerr

Going by the public statements of Qassem Solameini, Iran will respond to any U.S. attack, be it a “look good” one or another. That’s why Mattis rejected the recent “news” report about an imminent U.S. strike on Iran. Whether Trump listens to Mattis or Netanyahu is THE question.

      • jako

“such a brief attack would accomplish nothing”

        No.
It would “accomplish” blockading transport of 1/3 of world oil through Persian gulf and skyrocketing of the prices of oil and gas.
And TOTAL COLLAPSE of world economy as result.

        • Barba_Papa

But that would also be the nuclear option. Once you used that, what is there left to deter a full US invasion?

Think of it like this, the US does a quick ‘we have to look good in the 8 o’clock news’ attack. Iran responds with images of people shouting death to America and increases support to Hezbollah and the Houthis. The Americans go home, Trump looks good in the news and fixates on something else. Meanwhile Iran plays the long game and builds up its allies. It may even be that having acted all tough for his home audience Trump may offer a palatable deal to the Iranians.

Vs….. the US does a quick ‘we have to look good in the 8 o’clock news’ attack. Instead it reaps the whirlwind as Iran closes off the Hormuz Strait and missile spams US bases within range of Iran. It may even let Hezbollah missile spam Israel as well. As the world economy tanks the Americans now gather a massive force, including its usual EU vassals and probably Saudi Arabia as well. It invades Iran and after a bloody fight it reaches Tehran. As the regime of the Mullahs fall a bloody insurgency follows. As this is what the Iranians have prepared for, knowing they can’t defeat the US in a conventional fight. Years of brutal insurgency follows. In the end the US calls it quits or lets a puppet regime of US born Iranian exiles handle the mess instead. While the US economy has tanked, it will recover. Meanwhile Iran is left devastated though, like Iraq was. Whatever victory it will call, it will be Pyrrhic .

In the end it will be infinitely less costly to the Iranians to just absorb a US ‘we have to look good in the 8 o’clock news’ attack, rather then use the nuclear option of total retaliation. The Russians came to that exact same conclusion over Syria, which is why they twice let it happen. Because the alternative was starting WWIII. So they let the US throw its temper tantrum and then it was business as usual again.

          • jako

            Well you wrote novel there
(I like the final part and your conclusion )

I just wanted to say that every military action Iran does, can have huge consequences. That’s all.

I didn’t say that Iran is looking to start fight. I don’t even think they are scared of US and their stooges.
And I don’t think that under no circumstances Iran will start first.
But if attacked they’ll hit back with everything they have.
So we don’t have to worry that Iran will not try to avoid the conflict…
I don’t think US has guts to attack Iran.
That’s why they talk about Persian Gulf-NATO organization.
They would love to bring in as many non US cannon fodder as they can.

I don’t think that US+NATO+stooges is capable of 100% invading Iran ever.
Russia and China would 100% give logistic support (weapons) if not more…
So it would be very bloody indeed

          • Nothing a little Wag the Dog, False Flag can’t fix. An “Iranian” mass casualty attack on a US city would have Congress voting 100-0 in the Senate and 427-8 in the House for war.

    • New Israel is Muslim

Russia certainly won’t protect Iran. If Russia is not now sending all old retired Soviet equipment to Iran and selling new s-400s to Iran, then Russia really does not care about preserving freedom in Iran.

India can have S-400s, but not Iran, according to Putin.

      • Abradat Pakzad

No need to, Iranians are now making everything they need. The only thing they lack is money

        • New Israel is Muslim

Very true. All of the attacks by jewamerica in 2018 can be stopped by Iranian made air defenses. Jewamerica has yet to develop hypersonic cruise missiles and stealth cruise missiles. S-500s can take out hypersonic cruise missiles.

Iranian engineers will be busy in the next decade.

      • RailRyder

Russia better wake up they are next on the list. The people in America are not in charge, the jew 5th column controls America, just ask them!

      • Zionism = EVIL

Putin is a Jew and enslaved to corrupt Zionist oligarchy. Iran needs to strengthen alliances with China, Pakistan, Turkey, Syria and other Muslim nations. As long as Zionist parasites control the US and the west, there will be no peace and Putin is naive if he thinks the US will leave Russia alone. US and Zionist agenda is the Yugoslav style Balkanization of Russia and control over its immense wealth.

    • Zionism = EVIL

A new more rational world order free of US thugs and Zionist criminals is essential. The US wants to impoverish and weaken China as well as the recent hikes on Chinese imports have shown. The US is basically a racist thug that bullies anyone who stands up to it. It is time the world destroy the demon of US racist thug cowards. Iran is no pushover and even a single bullet fired will bring rain of fire on the Zionist entity.

“It is high time for Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria and Turkey to say with one voice to leave Iran alone or else”

      “Or else” what?!
You think that going to war is some fun and everybody just cant wait to get started?!?
Do you realize at least that you talk about totally different countries with totally different interests?!
Why on earth would India even lift the voice against US for Iranian interests only?!?
      Or even Pakistan?
Why would they do that, what would they gain by doing that?!
Let alone going into the war for Iran!
Why on Earth they would do such thing?!!

And you just pile up the names just like that. With no particular reason
One of countries is even NATO MEMBER and not friendly to Iran at all!
Turkey to fight for Iran against US?
You must be joking ! This is one of the biggest nonsense I have heard in quite some time.

If Iran attacked only Russia and China would help Iran and through weapons mainly.
Also Iraq is occupied country (by US) and Syria is occupied and in war
Also for the record…. many in Syria would not lift finger to help Shia Iran.

“Why on earth would India even lift the voice against US for Iranian interests only?!?
        Or even Pakistan?”
The reason is self-preservation. India is not going to wreck its economy by following the diktats of the Borg Collective.
Did you listen to what the Indian FM, Sushma Swaraj said, with a squeaky voice of a tiny woman, but backed by 1.3 billion Indians?
““India follows only UN sanctions, and not unilateral sanctions by any country,” Swaraj said, after being asked about India’s response to the US decision to impose sanctions against Iran.”
The mouse has roared against the Borg Collective over Iran, driven purely by self-interest!

Fighting for very CLEAR national interest (cheap, best quality oil supply) is one thing and standing against US aggression on Iran completely another.

India is widely known for huge corruption of her elites and US deeply ingrained inside that exclusive club.
No need for article I am not impressed by words of politicians just deeds.

      • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Then there is NATO member Turkey:
“On May 11, Turkey’s Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci said that his country “will continue to trade with Iran as much as possible and will not answer to anyone in this regard.”
        http://carnegieendowment.org/sada/76644

Turkey may have to kick the US out of the Incirlik base, but the Borg Collective will soon get the message. After the US/EU/NATO/GCC/Israel gang organised the 2016 coup, why would the Turks listen?
The worms are finally turning, Jako.

        • jako

“Minister Nihat Zeybekci said that his country “will continue to trade with Iran”
They have said that they will NOT let go out of prison that “pastor” US spy Yet there he is ! In “house arrest” now for “medical reasons” !

“Turkey may have to kick the US out of the Incirlik base”

I will believe it when I see it ! As long as Turkey is member of NATO all those declarations are pile of bollocks and waste of time to read!

          • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

Perfectly correct, Jako. It is events that will prove who has teeth and who is just hot air.
Idlib will be the real test for Turkey and Erdogan. Iran is the test for India. Have you noticed that Pakistan refused to send troops to the Yemen disaster under Saudi orders? That was very significant indeed.
With Turkey, I sense that something really changed with that failed coup in 2016.

          • jako

“Idlib will be the real test for Turkey and Erdogan”
            That is very good comment!
Idlib is bigger test for Erdogan than for Turkey.
Because it could be seen as his personal defeat by Turks.
And that would be the beginning of the end for Turks in Syria also!
If SAA and Kurds join forces against Idlib I do not see what Turkey can do in that situation.
If Erdogan has brains…He will try to make arrangement with Putin to find dignified exit for himself out of that situation.
            There is also Astana agreement…

” Pakistan refused to send troops to the Yemen disaster under Saudi orders”
            OK
            I agree it is”very significant”
But how much of that decision is really Chinese decision and how much Pakistani ?
Pakistan needs Saudi dollars as much heroin addict needs heroin.
But they know that without China they can not survive as country.

          • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

You have detailed the dilemma for Pakistan perfectly. KSA or China?
This has not changed since the Yemen disaster was sparked by KSA and the Borg Collective.
Somehow, Pakistan made the right choice.

          • jako

Let’s hope that you are right.

All my comments from RI are DELETED and I have been banned
      from Russia Insider !
If I would only know why because no one have sent ma a warning or any kind of explanation ever!
I didn’t even know that they have admin there.
Almost nothing was ever censored there.
      And now this
WHO is site moderator on Russia Insider and how do I get to that person?!

      • VeeNarian (Yerevan)

RI may not control this process. I expect my own comments to suffer the same fate soon. I use discus to make my comments and I am sure they have their own censorship process.

        • jako

          OK
but how come I still have access to my DISQUS account and only on RI my all comments are deleted. And only there I can’t post any more?!
It is obviously only RI that has blocked me.

Does user name “Fuzzy Bear” tells you anything? He kept bothering me with some comments.
He was talking to me like I was some obsessed anti-Jew NAZI from all hard core NAZI’s that are plentiful on RI he has chosen me declared anti-NAZI to label Jew-hater. I didn’t even bother to read his comments and now I have feeling that he might be the one….who is behind all that.

If you do a poll among those low IQ Ameritards who favor going to war with Iran you’d find out that over 80% would not even be able to find Iran on a world map, let alone know even the most basic information about the country.

The US is not the same as it was, at least in the 80’s, when I served in the Marines. We were expected to die in droves fighting the Russians. The few that would be left were expected to push on, until they were killed and more sent in. Today? …………. Are you kidding me? When the real cost of conflict became apparent, 20 minutes after it started, the horror would be overwhelming. Bases in Bahrain and the KSA could be obliterated in short order, just for starters. The stock market reaction alone would be enough to begin applying the breaks. The head hunting by the American citizens will not be for Iranian blood. It will be for the US politicians that kicked it off.

Iran knows where to hit the US. The US public knows, that Iran knows what to do. The US military has no more appetite to further showcase how unprepared it is for real war, after those two fiascos in Syria. It is just the extremists like Bolton, Pompeo and Hillary types, that are blind to the real costs. Dogma does that kind of thing. Iran is a no go, even if they do it.
