On June 21, the Afrin Liberation Forces (ALF) released combat footage of their recent successful operation against Turkish-backed militants in the occupied area of Afrin.
The operation, which took place on June 19, targeted a position of the Turkish-backed Sham Legion next to the town of Bosoufane in southern Afrin. The ALF killed at least eight militants in the operation.
The newly-released footage of the operation shows ALF fighters storming the targeted position using assault rifles and rocket-propelled grenades. Turkish-backed militants showed no resistance whatsoever.
In the course of the attack, ALF fighters seized four AK-type assault rifles, a PK-type machine gun, an RPG-7 launcher, a M1895 sniper rifle and a night-vision scope.
The operation was apparently launched from the Tell Rifaat area south of Afrin. The area is jointly controlled by the Syrian Arab Army and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). The Russian Military Police are also present in the area.
