For the second time this week, the Houthis attacked King Khalid Air Base near the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait with several Qasef-2K suicide unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The new attack, which took place early on August 24, targeted the airbase’ main runway, according to a spokesman of the Yemeni group.

“The attack on King Khalid Air Base achieved its goal with precision, thank God,” Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari said.

On the contrary, the Saudi-led coalition said that it was able to intercept two Houthi UAVs over Khamis Mushait. The coalition didn’t present any evidence to back its claims.

On August 22, several Qasef-2K UAVs, launched by the Houthis, attacked a communication center and a fuel station inside King Khalid Air Base.

These repeated attacks on sensitive positions in southern Saudi Arabia are an example of the Houthis’ ever growing defense capabilities.
