A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:

• 3 Police officers were killed and 6 others were injured in a Taliban attack in the Muqor district of Badghis province on April 19;
• Haji Muhammad, a police chief in Police District 8 in Lashkargah city of Helmand province was killed along with his guard by unidentified gunmen at a mosque on April 17;
• 0 government troops surrendered to the Taliban in the Shahrak district of Ghor province, the Taliban claimed on April 17;
• 18 government troops surrendered to the Taliban in the Baghlan-e-Markazi district of Baghlan province, the Taliban said on Aprl 18.
